Beetroot and Aubergine fried rice 8( - Sounds strange but the sweetness from the Aubergine works with the Beetroot taste. Was done in cumin, mustard seed, and a bit of turmeric and cashews added a bit of texture.
Nduja on warm bread,
Got some haddock, pollock, smoked haddock, mussels and squid marinating in white wine to go in a fish pie tomorrow. Some of the freshest fish I've seen (wish MM was around, he'd like to know). Bearlove, teach me what I have to do to eat as well as you do.
Nduja is apparently great, soft spicy Calabrian sausage, right? Reminds me a bit of sucuk, anyone ever try this? Spicy sausage is the best. Bear, the fish is for a guest tomorrow, tonight is pears, rice and speed. Not altogether. Although...
Yesterday's leftover pizza microwaved. Goodfella's Meat Feast (on offer, of course) in case anyone is intersted in specifics. I've stepped away from the pizza of late. Trying to improve my diet. Oddly enough, pizza tasted manky as fuck after even a short time making more effort with diet. Perhaps this is telling me summat
Probably telling me to buy better pizza if I'm gonna eat pizza.
In better food news, got a rather swanky bolognesesque sauce on the go for tomorrow (and a few days after no doubt). Pushed the boat out (at least as far as a boy can with a selection of reduced and on offer items) with applewood smoked bacon chunks, decent(ish) red wine and even some vegetable content (well, couple red onions and a carrot). Is currently simmering away on low heat and smells fukkin lush![]()
