This seems to be the case in any country except the UK. We're ridiculously strict with benzos not for any actual medical reason but because doctors got sued for throwing Valium at everyone and getting them addicted in the 90's and lost so now they've made it very difficult to get a new script even if you have severe anxiety.
Kind of like the opiate situation in the US right now, they went from overprescribing to underprescribing.
Why can't they ever just find a happy medium with these things eh?
I've heard they script benzos real easy in France too. Even in Turkey which you'd expect to be stricter, the docs apparently chuck Xanax around. It's just the UK alone in being absurdly strict with them.
The NHS doesn't even script alprazolam at all. As in it is not an approved drug. You can only get it from private doctors and even then the maximum dose tablet available is 0.5mg.
And yet they don't make 1mg clonazepam here, just 0.5mg or 2mg.
Makes fuck all sense to me...
However benzos are cheap at the pharmacy with a private script here too. Because they're all generics that are easy to synth I imagine. I paid a fiver for a box of diazepam when I first got my script. Cheaper than the NHS prescription charge.
But hey speaking of the French and Xanax, this is good for a laugh:
benzos are mad cheap in synthesis. They are fully synthetic and therefore dont require expensive precursors like oxycodone or hydromorphone does. Also most of them are pretty potent and are active in the low mg range,So say so have dirt cheap precursor which costs like10-20 pounds per kg and you turn it into clonazepam in 2-3 steps with 40% yield. So now you have 400 grams of clonazepam which translates into 200.000 2 mg pills, which you sell in wholesale at like 5 pounds per 100 pieces. So now you have made 10 thousand pounds from these pills as a manufacturer.
m glad i dont have to pay my morphine myself. Its way more expensive than a private methadone script.A box of 90 x 200 mg substitol(morphine sulphate) pills costs 220€. I get 35 200 g pills and 7 100 mg pills very week so i would have to pay roughly 350 € per month to pay for my morphine. At the moment i pay 10 € per script per week.
I dont understand why they would stop the diamorphine program in the UK. I mean its expensive compared to methadone treatment, but it is much more effective and junkies make up only a tiny fraction of the population, so in total the costs arent that high. All those pensioned people who run to the doctor 3 times a week and getting loads of prescription drugs each are 100x more expensive for the welfare state, especially lookin at the demographic change thats coming.More old people= more sick people which translates into much more costs for the healthcare system.
I find it ridiculous that the parliament in germany and uk still hold on to the current pension system. It was clear that it doesnt work, this was known when it was introduced back then, because the dempgraphic change thats coming on us was known back then aswell. Im all for a welfare state, but it has to be even remotely fair and im not willing to pay into the pension fund when im not getting back even close the amount i paid. Im not willing to pay for people who always bought a big car and failed to provide a private pension fund for themselves.
The situation wouldnt get so dramatic in the future,if the state workersa would pay in the pension fund aswell, but they dont. They get tax financed pension which is actually 25% higher in average than the normal pension.
Just turn into full private and provide free food for those people who fucked up. My father always lived a very modest life, never spend much. His car costs 2500€,yet he has 4 apartments he owns. Most people instead of buying stuff that actually help you to gain profit and help you to secure a good pension, they buy a fucking audi a8 or a big SUV which costs 100k+.I would never buy a car like this, even if i had a few millions. If i had 50+ millions, i would buy a car like that, because then its not a big share of my money. But when i have 3 million i dont buy a car for 200k but i buy a apartment which pays itself after 20 years and which i can give to my kids later
