Ethnobotanicals [DMT Extraction Subthread] Phalaris Grass

It will be moved when someone has a chance.

Yes, this species contains DMT. It also contains larger amounts of 5-MeO-DMT than DMT, as well as bufotenine.

There are several ornamental grasses that look similar. Where are you (roughly) located?

edit:
If you can get an up-close pic of the plant (especially the flowers/seed clusters, if there are any... flowers are the most ecologically conservered part of the plant), this would greatly simplify things.

Im in Illinois...about an hour from downtown Chicago. I'l post pics once this gets moved into psychadelic's.

if you've ever seen closely some phalaris arundinacea plant then I guess it will be easy for you to identify it when encontering some in the wild

apparently most phalaris arundicea around has been specifically bred to have low alkaloid content. :( if it's around farmer's fields it's probably this low alkaloid variety. apparently sheep get all fucked up when they eat the grass ("sheep staggers") and people blamed the alkaloids. much of the phalaris that grows wild is apparently also like this, having escaped from farmer's feilds.

the only way to know for sure would be to try to extract some!

phalaris has a mixture of alkaloids; DMT, 5-MEO-DMT and 5-HO-DMT. I think 5-MEO-DMT is the dominant alkaloid due to it's high potency.

in the back of TIHKAL there's a list of weird carbolines and their plant sources, and phalaris grass pops up frequently. my impression is that phalaris grass is an alkaloid salad that varies significantly from plant to plant/ season to season...

^^^^^^^^^^

For the most part yes, but I'd say genetics is a bigger factor in alkaloidal content...and alkaloids present will vary from stain to strain.

phalaris grass?

I took these pictures today while riding my bike in Laval which is about 10 minutes from Montreal. These things are about 5-6 feet high and they grow incredibly well around here. They are absolutely everywhere in ditches and road sides and in ponds in the ditches.

For anyone who knows, is this the phalaris plant im looking for in order to make a 5 meo dmt extraction???

help appreciated%)

i really have no clue. but if it is you are one lucky mother fucker. you should start selling the shit

Phalaris is imho a worthless material although it's containing nice alkaloids. The containing Gramin makes it a problem to consume it. Think about why everybody is buying Mimosa for money instead of using this free material: there is several reasons for it.

Does look roughly phalaris, though I think the leaf blades look to big. As Farabove says, it's a bitch... Standard Phalaris is a pain, you need to work on an industrial scale to get enough for a single hit.

I don't know if one can get high alkaloid strains any more, but those are the only ones worth bothering ones in my experience.

Phalaris aquatica

well i wondering if anyone has smoked this herb for the DMT that it is known to contain. I searched erowid trying to find some experiences but i was unable to come up with any. Any information that you have on this herb would be most helpful. Thanks.

correct me if i'm wrong,

but isn't the DMT contained in the said plant so absolutely minimal that the only way to use the said plant wisely is for extraction purposes only?

Kindof like smoking dried opium pods expecting to get high off of morphine.
