Defining moments in your rave life

peaking while sailing through the air upside down on the pirate ship thingy at Perfecto, October 2000. that was my first "rave", first pill and ummm... WOW! first time is so special...
but every party has its own special bits.

De Quincey! I love you!
Errr cancel that... But hell, we had the same experience on a pirate ship @ a rave with a pill.

wisest is he who knows that he does not know...

best moment ever was at the Mad Hatter Party at the globe back in 1999. First ever big party , first time i dropped two decent pills ( mda then mdma)Had the best night ever, met so many new friends and finally understood why so many people attended such events. Best moment was when the whole crowd in unison started punching as the light technician started dancing next door to the dj

At my first rave, A random girl came up, hugged me, gave me a kiss, and said she loved me and I was special.
And you know the best bit?
There was absolutely nothing in it.
I cant do it justice, but that moment (under the influence of my first ever pill) was one of the best moments of my life.
To whoever you are angel girl, thanks

Widened your horizons lately?
Reading back on that old post over a year ago, I still remember fondly the times that changed my life.

Not my only moment but probably the one I'll never forget...
Belfast 8. Best friend & favourite chicky in the whole wide world is holding my hand. We are peaking from blue hearts. Walk out of the chill room, anyone who knows QBH will know at the top of the stairs you can see the whole place. There are lots of lasers. There are lots of people, all smiling. There is a very very loud "Good Vibrations" coming from the speakers. We both look at each other and just go "Ohhhhhhhhhh"

well considering i'm really new to the scene, i can't really say i've had a real 'defining moment' per se but i can totally understand where mirage was coming from- feeling totally connected with everyone. the rave scene (and bluelight in particular) feels like one big family. i feel like i can walk up to anyone out at sublime, say how ya goin, havin a good night? there's no pretension involved. not everyone's preoccupied with being 'cool' which to me makes the people i meet out REALLY cool.

awwww ... im grinning from ear to ear here ... just went thru and read all of this thread ... and i can totally understand all of it ... all of u ... i just love this scene, the ppl, the music (and to teeny weeny lesser extent) the drugs ... *grin*
heh ... and a mate and i r just now dribbling about how we JUST CANT WAIT for the next system6 in 2 weeks time ... heh ... but yer, im so charged now ... ;P~~~
anyways ...
my uberest moment to date ...
easter adventjah this year up in brissy ... trance room ... matt darey ... and temptation comes on ... and i just melt cos i LOVE that song ...
next thing i look up ... and i see mash up standing on top of the big cargo things that the djs r up on ... SHES THERE SINGING LIVE!... thats when i exploded ... ;P~
and then later ... im dancing on top of one the speakers that is next to this big ass crate ... and hanging off it theres this white sheet that has all the funky projected stuff on it ... anyway ppl were lifting it up and stuff and running under it and eventually it came undone on one side ...
so being the closest i felt it was my duty to everyone to try and fix it ... so i jumped up and was just concentrating on hooking it in somehow for a good couple of minutes (it was hard in my condidition, trust me!) ... but i finally got it done ...
and then i turned around ... and what do i see ?... this 2000+ crowd just going nuts ... absolutely awesome lasers, the smoke ... awww ... *drool* ... and who am i standing next to ?... mash up and matt darey themselves!...
*erupts in goosebumples*
w00t!...
dont know any of u, but love yas all!...
cya ... ;P~

rhythmatic movements in unison with others prolong an act of sensation with no limits or boundaries >

Well, hir0 got me reading this thread, and yeah, I'm grinning now too, so it's only fair that I contribute my defining moments.
I'm pretty new to the scene, only been raving & dropping for the past ten months. I've had some amazing times, but there are two moments that stand out more than any other.
1. Peaking on my first pill just as Carl Cox really got into the swing of things, feeling the whole world realign itself as the music suddenly really made *sense* to me for the first time.
2. At Two Tribes, peaking again

just as Timo Maas mixed in Placebo's Special K. Dancing right up the front of the stage, my heart just leaped... I looked around and couldn't see my friends anywhere and for the first time I realised it didn't matter. Turned to a girl dancing next to me and said the first thought that came into my head: "this is what the music in our dreams is like". She gave me the most genuine smile I'd ever seen and I was just amazingly calm and happy and "home".
Words just can't communicate these experiences, but that's what makes them our defining moments, I guess.

My first party two tribes 99 it was my 21st and we were bored. asked somone in the city what we should do ,they sent us there, so with 10 of my best friends we rocked shit up all night
after alot of hard nrg partys in between I got taken to a sunny party and it changed me forever, id never heard or seen anything like it.
Then i went to sunny on mushies, the best experience i have ever had in this world
And well we cant forget Stacey Pullen now can we the best wednesday night ive ever had. And also digweed at the chevron wow.

some of those posts made me shiver with happiness. every post made me smile. it was great knowing exactly what everyone was talking about.
my 2 favourite moments.
feb this year at twisted in canberra.
i rocked up by myself... because i had nothing else to do and everyone at school was talking about twisted, had been too a few other small shitty canberra raves. thought i might be in for another long boring night.
the night was completely opposite to that, i decided to pill for the first time. luckily it turned out to be a great one. i really had no idea what to expect with the drug. (now i research a lot more before taking a drug) but i had one of the greatest nights of my life. complete ecstacy as i danced with some people who were pretty much acquaintices, now CLOSE friends. the best part was my insecurities went out the window. never been so confident in my life. and it was like i was saying all the things i wanted to say in the right way.
next best night
utopia 13!
had the perfect amount of drugs at an awesome rave. awesome music, awesome lights. heaps of close friendddddddsssss and new friends. was just unreal.
thanks for all the great posts.

Oh I love purge time, these lovely posts resurface. How far we've all come.

i love old threads :)
earthcore in nov2000. i ditched the idea of going to hardware for laurient gardnier and just pack my little bag and went to ecore. it was magical and it was very very very very special. just looking up in the nite and seeing all the stars so near to u and with tho was just beautiful. :) it is just something that I will rem for a very long time to come :)

I hadn't seen this one b4... gotta put my 3 cents in.....
1) New years eve 93/94 at the Palace - 3 minutes past midnight and Will E Tell drops Quench - Dreams (first time the track had been played I think)
2) Seeing Carl Cox play for the first time at Pure (rear of the Palace) - first time I had seen anything like it, not 1 person was dancing, everyone was mesmerised by him working 3 decks.... I have seen him 4 times since then, non compare to that one....
3) Last Global Village / Docks Parties......
need I say more for these - each one was an end of an era in its own right, and therefore deserves a mention.
4) Going to a Sydney party in 1996 and realising how good we had it in Melbourne by comparison
5) Welcome 2000 - just because it was NYE 2000 and no party will have an atmosphere like that ever again (regardless of who played and where it was)
6) The first Kryal Castle party in 94. The first big party outside Melbourne (except for Earthcore's)
7) The visuals at the very first party I went to in Feb 93 (not because it was my first party though) - They showed a still animation video from Eat Carpet (haven't seen it again since) of 2 Lego Men having an adventure, amazing stuff. - If anyone has a copy of this, please let me know!!

September Utopia 2001 – I couldn’t even tell you who was playing at the time, it was early morning and most of the night was over but I was up front and centre with Apollo when I looked up into the lasers to the most beautiful scene ever, the lasers all splintered like I was wearing those glasses and fairy dust of all colours floating on the air, trailing from the feet of magical beings that were dancing on the rainbow that stretched from wall to wall and over the crowd. I vaguely remember Apollo reaching over to shut my jaw and asking me what I was seeing. I think I breathed out the word utopia or something else rather cheesy but that moment was absolutely beautiful; I was with the people I loved sharing a perfect moment (even if I was the only one who could see it).
There's quite a few more but that one is the first I think of whenever I look for a moment in my partying history that totally blew me away. That night really was amazing, from standing in line with Dante talking my ear off, to walking the long way back to the hotel with Cyna, every single moment was special and although times change and poeple drift apart thinking of that night reminds me that the memories are always good.
