f**king hell of a last few days, i got one post on this for today and will check in again when i'm doing better. sorry peoples. (why can't people just be happy during holidays instead of being jerks in america?!?!)
@Ali_Chouldry: what everyone is saying is right but they are describing different aspects of the same thing.
whether you quit cold turkey or ween off of the invega you will still have withdrawal symptoms. the side effects happen when your still taking the medication, the withdrawal symptoms happen after you have stopped taking it. hence why i type out - side effects/withdrawal symptoms or effects/symptoms.
no one is so special they get to skip out on withdrawal symptoms once they stop taking a substance. the symptoms might be so minor that they barely notice it (we are all different) but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen. when people quit smoking cigarettes they gain a small amount of weight, become impatient for a couple weeks to a couple months and other things. when people give up sugar, give up drugs, give up drinking... i'm sure you get what i'm saying. part of the definition of a substance is something you take that is normally not in those kind of amounts in your body that affect you in some way as to put you in a different way of experiencing life than you normally are. hence why legal drugs are still drugs, they are just legal ones (and organizations can make money off of them to boot.)
it seems like you are worried that the withdrawal symptoms will be very terrible and acute, almost life threatening. they will not be. from what i can tell so far you will experience the same things most people who are average healers go through. plus you got this far in life while still on the poison. very tough and good sign for you indeed. (i only took 11 stabs
)
the reason i mentioned to ween off of it is a disclaimer because we cannot tell you what to do here. this is a harm reduction site as well as we are not medical professionals (it is advised that you also consult with your psychiatrist in stopping or reducing any medication.). i was also making sure you had all of the info in case you were not aware of it (for whatever reason). (i'm covering you, this site, anyone here and my butt while talking about this. make sense?)
please do not fret. those of us who have quit cold turkey have noticed a slightly different experience but nothing major. (i was wanting for another injection on one occasion, it's a lil more of an urge than those who have not quit cold turkey and posted about it in the past but still manageable.)
let's make this easy for you.
1. the first thing you need to make up your mind on is whether or not you are going to quit taking the invega/xeplion.
2. if you do decide to stop then you need to make the decision on gradually lowering the dosage (tapering) or quitting cold turkey.
3. after either decision is made you will need to adjust your life from there to work within the limitations accordingly.
either way we will take this one step at a time with you.
personal note: how many injections and at what doses were each one? do you know? (you said about 19 injections in your original post)
heal quickly everyone. peace.
