[Combo Subthread] Psychedelics & Alcohol

I wouldnt, may make you sick if you come up hard. I always smoke pot like 30-45min after ingestion, just when the tingles set in. It sets off the trip nicely and relaxes you as you are used to a pot high. Just my 2.

Yeah agreed, usually once I feel the peak kickin in ill punch down a few cones and be off my face in the followin minutes;)

I agree that alcohol doesn't mix well with psychedelics. It can really fog your head up, numb the trip, and generally make it feel weird.

To pharmalogically help with tripping anxiety I've found Phenibut to be wonderful. It can be easily found alongside "nootropics" online.

agreed, bad bad combo, ive done it with both lsd and shrooms and it negatively effected both trips. not recommended by me.

I have had 6 beers and a 200ug dose of LSD
I found that I had a pretty good time, it was weird because I did not even feel any of the effects of the alcohol mainly because they were overwhelmed by the LSD.

if your looking for a good time, I actualy do recomend mixing alcohol with LSD, but it does make the psychedelic effects less intense, so the trip itself is less deep. So if your looking for a deep trip it may not be the best mix.

I've mixed them with good results once with much LSD experience and not involving anxiety whatsoever, and if there is absolutely nothing else on hand I could see how 1 beer and 1 beer only could take an edge of without letting you get a noticeable alcohol feeling but apart from that I really generally dislike alcohol + psychedelics. It feels super dirty to me and the good time I had once I was incredibly wasted. It was interesting to have experienced but I wouldn't do it again.

Merging with appropriate thread.

I thought you couldn't get drunk on LSD.

I've heard of people drinking 10 beers and not feeling anything.

I've never tried it personally but I have gotten drunk on RC's like DOB and yea it kinda sucks but it helps ease the body discomfort.

I believe you 'can't get drunk' (which doesn't mean there is no alcohol in your blood!) on stimulants, generally. 'Feel drunk' would be saying it correctly.

LSD is not a stimulant despite its electrifying energizing character...

DOB however is a psychedelic amphetamine, it has a serious stimulant aspect (theoretically and also in my personal experience), I suppose you should feel less drunk because of DOB if you'd drink.

I don't know where I read but I've seen plenty of accounts that alcohol doesn't affect someone on LSD. The psychedelic effects outweigh the alcohol and you aren't even impaired.

Perhaps you guys have been getting crappy LSD(Aka another chemical altogether...DOC? DOI? ect.)

And when I drank on DOB I most certainly got drunk and it was similar to drinking on amphetamines, it took more to "feel drunk" but I was definetly more euphoric.

They say on LSD you won't even feel the drunkenness or the relaxation alcohol might provide. It's just that type of drug.

I could be wrong.

I find, like with pot and psychedelics, timing and dose is everything.

Drinking during the peak does nothing at all, and then leaves you feeling worse for the comedown.

Drinking a beer or two at the end of a trip is a great way for me to eliminate that annoying "I've gotta move my feet" feeling when I'm trying to sleep and drastically reduce any residual anxiety.

I actually really like the combination of acid and alcohol in particular. I find myself much more able to relax and find the humor in the insanity. It is worth mentioning, though, that I am talking small to moderate doses of lyserg. At high dosages, I wouldn't even be able to find the fridge let alone force myself to drink enough.

On the flip side, I did have one circumstance about 8 years ago taking cubensis after having been drinking for several hours. The initial rush had me extremely panicked. It was a short-lived panic, however, and within an hour I forgot that I had even been drinking in the first place.

LSD and alcohol does have something going for itself, often I think it's a shame for the clarity and particular feeling of sensitive beauty that go away but the last time I enjoyed drinking wine a lot.
Now mushrooms and alcohol, I wouldn't even dream of thát.

I drink whenever I trip it helps relax me when I take high doses. I usually just up my dose of the psychedelic to help counteract whatever effects may have been diminished by the alcohol. I think booze plus psychs is a great combo. I'm sure most won't agree with me though :\

for music listening,it is zilion times better without alcohol. If you cant handle that, dont take so much.Music is better anti badtrip than alcohol or xanax. how can you even know what fear is when you are laughting in tears while listnening britney spears :D

My limited experience with psychedelics and alcohol has been fairly pleasant. Drinking on the tail end of an LSD trip has proved to be relaxing and mellowing out. I wouldn't be drinking at the peak though.

I drink alcohol to loosen up, to decompress. Under the effects of a psychedelic, this is already accomplished in a much more profound way--therefore, drinking alcohol merely becomes redundant, and doesn't add much except some (sometimes undesired) excess energy.

A beer or 2 before and after is OK for me but it is a big no-no during the trip. I find it just gives the trip a very manic and impulsive feel and really completely drains the potential therapeutic value from the trip.
