Cocodamol - The drug of the credit crunch? plus other codeine/dihydrocodeine queries

I down to me last 200 500/30's :(

No need for them on prescription any more.

But luckily off to Spain this weekend so will be stockin up on some straight codeine tabs... :) I love them now for comedowns from stims, sleeping, or just for a dreamy evening.....Forgot about the recreational side of codeine having used them for pain releif for so long...

How many should I try to buy at a time in Spain..? I was thinking maybe 40odd 30mg at a time won't raise suspicion?

Anyone have any idea of OTC cost of codeine in Spain?
 
How long codeine come up for you

Hi,

Run out of weed so thought I'd treat myself to a spot of Codeine. My tolerance is non existent since I rarely have Codeine. I've done CWE in the past but tonight decided to man 4,050mg of APAP for 90mg Codeine - to some, not worth it.

I took the codeine a couple of hours ago and have yet to experience the haze. I have "sour" feeling in my head that I usually get, but it's barely noticeable. Usually on 80mg of Codeine I'm almost numb. I'm a bit disappointed as I took them on an empty stomach and besides a warm face, get more out of a slightly lower dose!

How long does Codeine usually take to kick in for you?
 
I usually take between 200-300mg.
80mg wouldn't do anything to me and I have zero tolerance.
I do CWE and it takes about 20 mins to kick in fully.

I think its an excellent drug and feels wonderful with some valium :)
 
Yeah, at that dose you're not going to feel much. 200+ is sort of the 'normal' dose for non-tolerant people to get a decent buzz. You should feel it fully after an hour, but sometimes it deceives you until you lie down and try watching TV, and suddenly you're off in another world.
 
just my two cents on method for cocodamol cwe, as i do it very regularly these days. i find the best way to crush the pills is a thick paper envelope; or you need to create an envelope shape with loose leaf by folding the edges and open end. i then crush it with my titanium grinder, anything hard and semi heavy works fine. i like this way because i can crush up like 32 pills at a time, which is the most i like to put in one bottle (because of the mass of the pills)
 
Just dosed ~315mg (not CWE per say, but whatever) due to a tickly cough. Wasn't sure about what dosage would be right to get rid of the fucker so decided to go for the 'safe' option...hehehe
 
What do you guys think the best anti histamine is for the DHC itch? One that i can walk into a chemists and buy.
 
Diphenhydramine, although they don't sell it as an antihistamine as such any more, it's sold as a sleep aid. That big pharmacy from Nottingham sells it as Sleep-Ease. It has the added bonus of making DHC more noddy.
 
Promethazine's a favourite of mine to combine with DHC, diphenhydramine being a close second. Again, sold primarily as a sleeping aid rather than an antihistamine.

Interestingly enough, it was prescribed as an anti-psychotic for a long time too until more efficacious drugs (chlorpromazine etc.) took over that role. Beware - it can cause sleepwalking, though with enough DHC alongside it I don't see that being a problem. ;)
 
Thanks, i will get some Promethazine and Diphenhydramine and try them both on seperate occaisions to see what works the best for me.
 
OK, so i got some Promethazine. The guy that sold them to me kept asking if i was taking any other medication, i said no incase he didnt sell them to me. Does Promethazine cause respiratory depression? Is it not dangerous to take this alongside an opiate, the same way its dangerous to mix alcohol / benzos and opiates together?
 
It will potentiate the opiate, and is sedating in its own right, but I honestly don't think it would cause sufficient respiratory depression to be dangerous. Certainly not comparable to the risk of mixing other downers. Just use slightly less codeine than you usually would, or sip it slowly...be sensible and it'll all be fine.
 
Think I may try this out in the coming few days. I take it my local lloyds pharm will have the necesary co-codamol for my bad back. Is it out on shelf, and I take it picking up 2 boxes is a no go :D

<--w00p 1,500 posts, and it's one about abusing water extractable pharms. Oh ye!
 
You'll be able to pick it up from your local chain chemist. It's behind the counter, tell them you have migraine or severe back pain. You'll have to go to another one close by if you want more than one packet. I just outright ask fro it, I've never been questioned.

I use Paramol for CWE's.

When me and MTGG used to buy Codeine Linctus everyday in Manchester, we'd alternate between 5 different chemists in local area, both of us taking it in turns on different days. Only the smaller non chain ones would sell it to me. Though, I did succeed in getting it from Lloyds once, by spouting some shite that I'd learnt to trip off my tongue. Though what I've just written is not at all relevant to CWE's.

Which is probably the best option if you're buying OTC.

I honestly don't think the 8/500 Co-codamols are worth doing a CWE on unless you're really desperate (the 30/500s are another matter of course).

I'd much rather take the risk of extracting seven-point-whatever milligrams of DHC than take the same risk for 8mg of codeine. I find DHC much more enjoyable and with fewer negative side effects.
