Can you believe this shit?!

Yes pinpoint, trust me, I REALIZE that cannabis is illegal. I am was just saying that it is really weird that a harmless plant like cannabis can get me kicked out of a place thats been handing me opioids and benzos for the past 2 years... I REALIZE IT IS ILLEGAL, I KNOW HE CAN AND PROBABLY WILL DROP ME AFTER THIS. So don't insult my intelligence by saying that I am blaming everyone but myself. THe only thing I am blaming this on is the stupid fucking marijuana laws and the people that put them in effect and the people that keep them that way.. agree or not this is my opinion, but honestly if you don't agree that it is better for someone to use cannabis for pain/sleep instead of opiates and benzo's then you really need some massive education in drugs (opiates/benzos) compared to marijuana.

Yes i know I sound pissed off in all my post but that is because I am, but trust me i am not going to go in there screaming and yelling and acting like a prick myself. I am going to be calm and collective. All i am saying is that IF he does drop me and doesn't give a taper or anything and I know that it is final that im getting dropped that I am going to have to say something and at least give tell him that its really stoopid that I got kicked out for messing up once and smoking marijuana, when that should be the least of their worries. I mean for gods sake they should be worried about the drugs their prescribing. I am not going to act like a A-hole to the Dr. But after all it IS his choice on what to do, so if he does drop me then he obviously has retarded out-dated views about cannabis.

But im starting to sound like a broken record now, i think you guys know where I am coming from.

I am simply saying that in the general medical community cannabis is not an accepted form of treatment for insomnia or pain, whereas the medications you are currently prescribed are. If you don't need our input then why start a thread about this topic? To whine?

EDIT: Do I agree with this point of view? No. I think people should be able to decide what works best for them. However this is not the way of the world, and you can't fight city hall if you know what I mean.

I dont get it. If you can go without these meds, then why are you so concerned? I mean you fucked up. It doesnt matter whether YOU think opiates and benzos are worse than marijuana, the whole thing here is that you signed something assuring the doctor you would not partake in illegal drug use. You broke the contract, so he can't trust you. If you felt this way about marijuana being a better medication why didnt you just say that before you gave the doc your word not to use it?

If you signed a contract promising a doctor not to have sex or eat sugar whilst on his pain meds program, and you broke that promise, the issue isnt whether sugar or sex is worse than opiates or benzos, is it? The issue is he can't trust you. So marijuana laws have fucking nothing to do with any of this.

maybe it will at least make him feel like a prick and I also lol just wanna hear what he has to say to that question.

I'll tell you right now a doctor is not going to feel bad about looking after his best interests. As I said before, doctors are damned if they do, damned if they don't. Makes me wonder what the fuck I'm getting myself in for :\

[...] This is so stupid because I don't consider cannabis a drug. That doesn't mean that I think that this is the doctors fault, i never said that. OH and btw I am NOT addicted to either opiates or Benzo's (i have been off both for over a week) so im not just crying about getting kicked out and having to go threw w/d's. [...]

But who knows I'll most likely just go in there and be silent, get kicked out, and then just ask him what should I do for the withdrawals I am going to face now? (even tho I am not facing any sort of withdrawals what so ever). But he thinks I am dependent, so maybe it will at least make him feel like a prick and I also lol just wanna hear what he has to say to that question. [...]

I've got to agree with what djsim and some others said above.

You knew the consequences of smoking up, and you did it anyway. Bad decision. It doesn't really matter whether you personally consider cannabis a drug. An agreement is something between two parties. You agreed, for the purpose of the agreement, that cannabis would be considered a drug. Right? You, personally, agreed.

Figure out why you made the apparently bad decision to smoke up. Avoid whatever led to you to make the mistake. It's a mistake, but it's not one that you have to repeat.

Go into the clinic yelling, and you'll be tossed and possibly arrested. Nothing about the experience will feel good. You'll make the doctor feel that much more justified in dropping you.

Why are you wasting your time smoking weed when you know they are going to drug test you there? You have to think the next time.

And how do you not consider cannabis a drug? I think the drugs are fucking with your brain cells...

hate to be a downer, but if you need pain meds and know he will test you why are you fucking around with weed? I want weed to be legal too but ideals can't play a role here it's simply you fucked up. I used to treat UAs like they were nothing, then I went to jail for a little while and realized I'd never be that dumb again, hopefully this experiance will impart a similar attitude in you. The question is: Is weed better than the meds the doc is giving to me? If no then don't smoke until you find a doctor who doesn't care about pot(which there are a good amount). Good luck hopefully you can get back on your meds soon :).

why would you put cannabis in your system when you knew that it could cause you to get dropped? i don't see how you go can about blaming anyone but yourself for this.

Exactly my thoughts. That would be like getting pissed off because you failed a piss test for your probation officer caused you smoked pot and blaming the probation officer.

I am most likely probably gonna get kicked out of my pain clinic because I failed for having cannabis in my system on a drug screen. SO it is OK for me to have fucking opioids and benzo's in my system (which is what i've been prescribed for the past 2 years!) and now I got a appt. tomorrow and I know he's going to kick me out for failing that drug test for JUST MARIJUANA!!!! WTF?! omg i am so pissed at the ignorance of this society i could seriously just . . YELL AHHH OMG WTF IS WRONG WITH THIS GOD-FORSAKEN WORLD!

But seriously can he even just take me off all medications and kick me out with nothing??? wouldn't that be cruel and unusual punishment? I mean if I actually took my meds as prescribed i would be so addicted to opiates and benzo's that I would probably die from the withdrawals (esp. from the benzos). So basically would just push me into going to a suboxone doctor or m-done clinic. This world is so fucked up and makes me so pissed!
Oh and by the way I am totally clean right now and don't have anything AT ALL in my system..

What are your guy's thoughts? What do you think I should say tomorrow? The guy that gave me the drug test last time i was there still gave me my scripts to last me till my appointment tomorrow and I asked him if I was going to be kicked out now and he said it would be up to the doctor and that if I was clean next time that I would probably be OK and he didn't say anything like 'start weaning yourself off these' or anything of that nature so like wtf, can he kick me out for just failing one damn urine test for ONLY MARIJUANA!!!!!?!?!?!?

DAMMN MAN!! thats some pretty fucked up drama there. You wouldnt know if marijuana was like crack or some shit. lmfao all this over a bit of weed, man that doctor gota chill out and smoke some himself, or pop a few valiums, if were you id go back there and demand to talk to that doctor and let him know u just did the weed for pain relief or some shit. thats harsh thing for a doctor to do man.

Peace.

^ you do realize a doctor could lose his license/freedom if he goes along with this. Down doctors don't test even though you sign the waiver. The fact this man got tested ensures the fact this doctor ain't cool with the I need to relax defense.

Most pain clinics have you sign a contract. Read that and the consequences should be in there.

I know I am not going to lose a good connect for 180 tabs a month for a joint, but I am a lot older and burned out on marijuana years ago. The bottom line is the DEA rides these pain docs so they go by the contract most of the time.

The good news is if you bomb at one you can get your records and get the same drugs (usually) at another pain clinic.

It's probably too late, but i highly suggest against saying "give me something for taper."

the reason is, especially with pain clinics, they have drug tests that not only test for presence, but can test levels. and they know what these levels should be if you're taking your medicine as directed. So when you come back negative for benzos, and with a very low amount of tramadol in your system, and none of the other stuff you're scripted (if applicable), then it just means you're lying more. In these circumstances, it is the patient's responsibility to say if they're not using all the medicine scripted, because otherwise it looks like they're selling it.

Hope you didn't do anything stupid at your doc's office.

I was wondering exactly what the above poster touched upon- why did you stop the medication you're prescribed? You said you are prescribed more than you take- why?

Why would you piss positive then go in without your scripted drugs in you? In my pain contract it says she can test to make sure I have my drugs in my system (so it doesn't look like I'm selling them) AND if I have illicit drugs in my piss. Both look really bad and she can immediately discontinue.

PLEASE let us know what happens.

I feel your pain brother. I hope things end up working out for you one way or another. I had good luck with a sub doctor for 7 months until he unexpectedly closed down his clinic.. They knew I was on benzos and weed, I was up front about the benzos to begin with, then I later told them about the weed when I came in stoned one morning. They didn't care. I never had one UA or any kind of test except for an initial liver function test, they may have also tested my blood for drugs that one time. It seems the sub doctor really only cared about the money. He tried to preach about going to therapy/rehab, but never told me I had to go. It was simple/easy but I think every doctor is different. Most places don't let you stay on benzos. I've also heard of suboxone doctors banning patients because of marijuana. It's fucking lame.

should have thought about that before you smoked, or gave enough time before your appointment to get the shit thats NOT supposed to be in your system out.

at least he will have heard it from someone with balls. So yeah.

But who knows I'll most likely just go in there and be silent, get kicked out, and then just ask him what should I do for the withdrawals I am going to face now?

So much for those balls, eh?

You should be ashamed of yourself for faking dependency on these medications that you clearly do not need, and bitching and moaning about withdrawals you won't have. If pot works so well, and you don't need these opiates and benzos, why not just stick to smoking pot and skip the doc altogether? You can't fault the doctor for covering his ass by booting someone who's lying to him and playing the system.

You fucked up. You gambled and lost. When you lose a couple hundred at the roulette table, you don't cry about how unfair he odds are to the dealer, do you?

Also, you've gotten yourself pretty worked up over something that hadn't even happened yet. You seem to be upset about all of the possible situations and problems you could imagine that you might encounter, instead of the one looking you right in the face: your own actions.

Man up, grow a pair, stop blaming your problems on everyone but the sole responsible party, and instead of getting all worked up about every possible scenario that *might* happen, try coming clean, with both your doctor AND yourself. Instead of raging and screaming and yelling like a lunatic junkie (which is exactly what he'll think you are if you go through with any of what you're planning), tell the man the truth and whatever happens, happens.

Screaming about how you should be allowed to smoke pot doesn't make it any less dangerous to the doctor and his practice to keep you, and pretty much guarantees that you will be dismissed. Admit that you messed up and promise him it won't happen again, and you've got a chance of staying.

If you really need these meds, you'll find another doc that will Rx them to you if you do happen to get kicked out. If not, well, fuck you for being so self-righteous over scamming a doctor, you're part of the reason it's so difficult for people who legitimately need these medications to get adequate treatment.

listen to djism, dont yell and lecture your doctor, how would you like getting dropped cold turkey and having seizures and opiate withdrtawl, sounds awesome to me. Be nice apoligize say it was a mistake and your friends told you it was self rolled cig, but really it was tobacco and weed and you only took 2 puffs before knowing what it wass

I don't think that "hand-rolled cigarette" would work. How many guys do you know who would pass a hand-rolled cigarette around a circle of friends?

Anyway, you'd taste the ganja on your first hit, and one or two hits of pot wouldn't even be detectable on a UA.

If the doctor thought about it for even a second, he'd see that you were just spinning another lie, and that would only reinforce his thoughts about not trusting you.

I'd say that the best course of action is to admit that you knowingly and consciously smoked pot and that you won't let it happen again, and hope the doctor appreciates your honesty.

The key here is ACTUALLY GIVING UP SMOKING POT, at least within several week of a possible UA... because the doctor WILL follow up with several more drug tests, and once you blow another one, you're out without a doubt.
