you people are ignoring the czechoslovakian underground....
rumenige and loktibrada
olga & jozef
really rusty industrial sounds, very beautifully layered, repetitive enough to give you a seizure. they do not DARE deviate from the conceptual beat in mind....you'll hear a bit of a straying but quickly they go back....and they still do the crap with the slowing down and then speeding up. i dont know why, but that aspect of techno has always given me orgasm...
sadly, in new york....techno is not happening anywhere. and when it is...god forbid the things you hear. several years ago jeff mills came around, and hawtin too...but Mhonolink never came

Berlin is the shit....every techno afficionado has to do a pilgrimage to TRESOR just to see it. I mean before everything becomes sterile and law enforced and the genre dead and still amidst all the idiotic feebleminded outrage....
ps. im a classically trained pianist and i know that J.S. Bach was the techno guru of his time. If you understand techno....you understand music, any music. Techno is the utmost fucking supreme. I feel extremely lucky to have found it and let it enter my life and captivate me.
anyone know Tony Rios? he's very conservative....he's local in Koln I think....or Berlin, I forget. His style is amazingly relaxing in that you can have it in your ear for like 9 hours straight and you will never grow annoyed....yet its not without substance. Just subtle and conservative, very German in that sense.
