bodybuilding & use of ecstasy

Hey all,

I lift weights on weekdays with protein drinks/etc. but i find that after partying, i often find that i've lost around 2-4kg. I'm sure a lot of factors in this decrease in weight (body fluid loss/not eating much on the weekend/mineral loss/increased metabolism speed).

Is there any way to avoid this? pre/post-loading with 5HTP? I already have a fast enough metabolism - but just gets worse when i get on E's.

I used to be able to lift 80kg no problems about 2 weeks ago, now i'm struggling with 75kg.
 
Its multiple contributing factors that are the cause of your muscle loss.
ill list a couple


alcohol is horrible for muscle and appetite even days after intake

mdma is very catabolic, it causes muscle to pretty much dissapear, you can easily lose 5 pounds of muscle in one night of partying


basically, its a recreational drug, and has no place in Bodybuilding.

though some of us still partake once in a while

make a thread in the steroid discussion room


**we also have no idea of what kind of diet/supplements you use anyway.. a bad bodybuilding diet can have you lose
a few pounds over 1-2 days

hrmmm... so i shouldnt be working out if im drinking alcohol??

i'm ready to cut down E's to 3x/yr for my BB'ing goal, but alcohol seems too hard to give up....?

no, you shouldn be drinking if your a serious bodybuilder.

honestly, most people are not willing to make such life changes to have a perfect body.

you definitly gotta cut drinking down to 1 day a week maximum, and dont get fucking pass-out drunk

if you have enough self-control, weed is pretty much a bodybuilders drug of choice

but you cant go crazy with that either, a lil' joint after coming home from the gym

you start smoking b4 you got the gym and your screwed
 
Can you please explain how MDMA is going to induce a catabolic state to the point of dropping 5lbs of muscle?

no, cuz thats not what i said. read a little closer and see if i said mdma will cause you to lose 5lbs of muscle.

once again, you gotta try to read/comprehend more.

I said a night of partying can easily leave you with 5lbs of muscle gone..

however, it is fair that I say this next part.

If you are a normal regular sized guy its not as easy to lose weight fast
then if you were say 5'10" and 230lbs. with under 10 bodyfat %


when your BIG you have to work a lot harder, and be a lot more careful just to maintain that large amount of muscle


a skinny guy can definitly lose 5lbs in 24 hour period, but its more prevalent
amongst the larger beast-sized males

notice how i didnt explain how mdma is catabolic?
because im not going to

if you want to learn something read a book
 
however, i will stand by the statement you claim I made.

MDMA CAN leave you with 5lbs. less muscle than you had the day before
 
5lbs is just an arbitrary number i used... you can lose 1, 2, 3 even as high as 5-7lbs. if you want to be on drugs/alcohol all the time
 
Didn't really mean to offend, or attack you benson, was asking a question and your kind of flipping on me.

You said mdma is very catabolic and I am wondering the science behind this so I can implement different strategies in preventing said catabolism.
 
well you came off like a bitch copying & pasting the same exact question twice with your little smiley faces as if I didnt already know you asked that same exact question

but since you want to learn, you should seriously be a regular in the steroid discussion

its not just for information on steroids

pretty much any bodybuilding/fitness questions can be asked there

read the stickies to learn the basics

I already know most of the basics, I am just wondering, how MDMA specifically is catabolic and makes muscle dissapear?

ask the question there, or probably just do a search

I understand the science behind catabolism... what I do not understand is specifically, how MDMA puts one into a catabolic state, making muscle disapear, like you said..

I also understand how MDMA works, and I am trying to connect how that puts one into a state of rapid muscle catabolism, and I figured you knew, because you just told the OP that.

EDIT: (I am using the word disapear, because you used it) (Also, if you don't care why did you originally respond to the OP?)
 
secondary circumstances have a lot to do with catab.

if your up in a hot club/bar dancing all night while your on a meth bomb

guess what, you will LOSE
 
I understand that if you're in a hot club dancing while on meth you will be in a catabolic state, but this is also true for cardiovascular activity in general. The meth just increases catabolism significantly.

I am curious though as how MDMA has a catabolic effect. If you can't/won't answer the question please let me know because really it doesn't serve me any purpose to ask you 3 times in a row, and it doesn't serve you any purpose either.
