bodybuilding & use of ecstasy

Can we keep this on topic, please? If you don't want to answer questions, don't answer them, but there's no need to insult people. And you don't have to keep trying to get the last word.

And people in general, if you're going to make claims, be willing to back them up or reference sources or explain what you're saying, or it's a bit of a waste of people's time, really.
 
geez ppl, i didnt want this to become a fight. but i just posted what i noticed and yeah, reference/backup would be nice.

it's probably a lot of things that MDMA makes me lose weight:
- sweating heaps, losing lots of body fluids (2/3 of our body is water)
- loss of appetite, so not eating (when i skip a meal or two, it doesnt make me lose that much, but big night out on mdma probably makes me lose a good 3-4 meals)

but i definitely feel weaker in the next week when i try to lift weights again.. maybe i need to let my body repair itself - but weight loss is a big concern and a downward spiral.

but i would like to know if there are any mdma users that do weight training (not necesarily bodybuilding, but keeping in shape etc)

rustyjoe: I just recently started using MDMA, well, really, i've been using pills and generally they contain meth as well. I have been using weekly for maybe 2 months now, and this last weekend I used twice (Fri + Sat). I weighed myself today and i'm at around 165~ with a lower bf then when I started (I was training/eat to maintain weight, and drop some bf)

I did notice I was slightly weaker today, but this could also be due to me using twice consecutivley, and I also totalled my car, which i'm sure but a decent amount of strain on my body. I recommend getting a good meal in a couple hours before you drop, and then after the pills hit you, maybe drink some juice/energy drink with some carbs in it, which will help keep your body out of a catabolic state caused by:

1. not eating
2. meth (if your taking pills)
3. possibly mdma, still unclear about this one : /

Definetly after a night out keep eating your meals, and stay hydrated.

Benson theres no need to attack people like that, ive seen you do it on other posts aswell, people treat you with respect do the same to others....
 
If you plug you can eat as much as you want without ever missing a meal. I only lose maybe 2lbs after a night because I eat well all during the day, dinner included. It makes a BIG difference. The roll is much more enjoyable after a good meal. The question is, are you willing to stick your own finger up your own butt for less than 3 seconds?

Could you please cite your source of this information? I find it hard to believe ecstasy is catabolic and can cause the loss of up to five pounds of muscle in one night. I could see it perhaps causing the loss of water between muscle fibers and resulting in what appears to be muscle loss but actually isnt. Granted MDMA speeds up your metabolism but the human body only breaks down muscle after fat stores have been depleted.

If by chance MDMA/MDA/MDE were catabolic there would be a lot of small guidos and proberly dead ones such as myself walking out of one of Jonathan Peter's 24 hour plus marathon sets in NYC. Fogedaboutit.

I see no reason to believe that taking MDMA would inherently cause significant losses of muscle. Sure, it's a strain on your system, revving up the metabolism, releasing stress hormones, working the muscles, building up lactic acid....kind of like, oh, going to the gym. :-)

The worst part about MDMA for athletes is probably the disruption of diet and training. You usually aren't eating while partying, aren't eating when coming down, and aren't eating much the next day or so. And, there is a certain disruption of the nervous system from MDMA; it seems possible (though purely speculative) that downregulation of receptors on muscle/nerve fibers could actually reduce your ability to fully recruit muscle fiber contraction in the days to weeks after use.

At any rate, no, partying hard isn't good for an intensively training athlete. It's not terrible good for anybody, really. :-) But...it's certainly not going to burn off pounds of muscle at a time under any sort of normal circumstances.
 
i believe that drinking alcohol is alot more harmful for bodybuilders then a night out on the pills.

For me drinking totaly kills my motivation, my metabolism slows down, and im lazy.

After MDMA, everything is ok. You just have to force your self to eat right when you leave the club/rave. And make sure you get to sleep for at least 8 hours. Dont make your saturday/sunday a 30 hours no sleep no food session and everything should be ok.

This is acutally something I was thinking about one day driving home, after reading this thread.

I would imagine if your stomach is full it wont slow down/hinder the effects of the pill if its plugged since its absorbed through the rectal mucous membranes?

Thanks for clarifying, i'm gonna have to give plugging a shot 8(

That's because Steroids are very stimulating and they use G to relax afterwards
 
Just to clarify- if you plug on a full stomach, the roll is much more comfortable to the body because you have not been fasting and then introducing a stimulant on top of that. I also make it a point to eat something highly caloric and protein rich at the end of the roll as well. You sleep much better and do not lose nearly as much weight. Bettr absorption, stronger roll, easier recovery, all for sticking your finger in your ass for a few seconds.

So, eating doesn't affect the pills strength/come up speed/duration when its plugged? Just want to make sure :)
 
Not one bit. Numerous times I have gone out to dinner, went into the bathroom, and plugged a pill. By the time the meal is over, I am starting to feel it and by the time I get to my destination I am feeling fantastic. Try it- YMMV, but most of my friends are converts now. Just spit on the pill and your index finger, rub it around a bit and then stick the while, uncrushed ( I do not believe crushing makes much of a difference) pill all the way up there. Then wash your hands.

I'll probably end up doing a couple things different.. like:

Crushed the pill, and then gel-capping it. Seems like it would go in easier and be more effective.

Use a condom instead of using my bare finger up my ass.. lets be sanitary! :p

seems like a very effective bodybuilding cocktail to me! I don't think the G is to relax though. bodybuilders don't fuck around GHB releases a lot of growth hormone to build muscle
 
Wow, this thread totally got outta hand.. lol

I think when the person who said mdma was catabolic and you can lose 5lbs of muscle in 1 night, they misspoke and overstated the fact... I'm a noob at mdma and don't know alot but i think mdma would be a catalyst to muscle loss; the real activity that causes the muscle loss would most likely be the exhaustion and prolonged dancing, etc. Also, the drop in body weight would mostly come from loss of fluids. It's not easy to burn off 5lbs of muscle on a single night of dancing for a normal person unless you're extremely huge (since it's all relative). Even then, it almost sounds impossible...

Conclusion: Would you lose some muscle? Yes. Would it be significant? Probably not, specially if you're only using mdma like youre supposed to which is taking at least 1 month off between trips i think. Is it possible to lose few lbs? Yes. Where does the weight loss come from? Fluid loss.

Ok, I'm done, flame away. haha
 
I'm here to tell you, that it can cause weight loss. I noticed it the other day. I didn't roll that often till this month, I've rolled several times (I've slowed down now because I like my mood to be regular and it's the smart thing - don't lecture me) recently though and noticed significant weight loss. I didn't actually, someone at work said I looked thinner. I usually weigh about 145 solid and it doesn't change often. I'm a cook, and eat throughout the day all day, and smoke the herb...but when my rolling increased I'm down to 137. I haven't seen that number since high school. I'm gonna observe it over the next few weeks when my eating/physical activity pattern regulates again.

Bottom line, anyone who says "yeah right" can shut up and listen. I'm living proof. And the majority of the beans I ate recently were meth ones. That probably didn't help.
