This debate about IRC is kinda irrelevant given that there are max 40 people ever in there, and 10 people at once max chatting at any time. I spend a lot of time there, and answer questions when they arise.
Debating about the nature of IRC isn't really getting us anywhere - IRC is always more sarcastic and raw than normal life conversations anyway... People seem to have a far more extroverted personality online because they speak from a comfort zone, namely shielded behind a computer. Also, people are generally quicker to react because they don't understand the tone of the conversation, as its difficult to convey emotion in text.
I thought this thread was more about the image of bluelight being confused with the image of the bluelight posters in the (mostly rave scene) community?

I think that is definately a proof that theres a heap of newish bluelighters who feel that if they shit on the NEWER bluelighters then they'll feel like they're hell oldskool and that they can be just like the cool kids.
