Television Better Call Saul

Is the show any good at all? Is it set in Albuquerque NM?

Are those two inquiries unrelated or is this one of those rhetorical questions akin to:

Is the show any good at all? Does a bear shit in the woods?

Because, if so, that's the strangest one yet.

Yeah, I've got to say I was seriously disappointed by the third episode.
It needed to be pretty fucking good to redeem the first two, and it was the worst so far.

NSFW:
A big bag of cash, already?
...and the bad detective novel shit with him working out the case on the spot...
...and Mike agreeing with him, for some convoluted reason...

It took me a couple of hours to get through the episode.
I kept getting distracted and leaving it on pause and forgetting about it.

this show was DOOMED from the start because it is connected to Breaking Bad, and therefore will always be compared to BB. And nothing can really compare to BB.

I've been loving the show so far. I haven't followed a non-HBO or Showtime drama since "The X-Files", but I think this will definitely do it for me. :)

shameless is hilarious, never got into the UK original no matter how many times i watched

But i find the acting to be... subpar.

Yeah, is it just me or does Saul move his hands around WAY too much?
Particularly when Odenkirk is trying to portray a heightened sense of desperation or fear through his character...
It's really unnatural and distracting.

Cranston was amazing as the lead.
Odenkirk was great, in small doses, as the comic relief.
As a lead actor in a show with dramatic undertones, he seems a bit off. (IMO)

Agreed

Reminds me of politicians that cant keep their hands still

You must not hang out with many italians or italian americans irl

Guess you're not familiar with Italian politicians.

I thought I would hate it but am pleasantly surprised.

I just wish they wouldn't try to include the old characters, messes with the continuity imo... but then again season 3 and 4 killed BB in my eyes.

Looking back I wish BB was just 3 seasons with 1,2 and 5. The rest is just a long drawn out seesaw.

Season 2 was my favorite by far.

I thought Odenkirk was great on Fargo!

Saul was easily my favorite character in Breaking Bad, so I already knew id enjoy this! i think its everything its supposed to be, Saul trying to make it in a cruel world, and has to make difficult decisions in order to save his own as and/or save his pain in the ass clients.

One of my favorite quotes fro, Breaking Bad: "When you get into trouble, you don't want a criminal lawyer, you want a criminal, lawyer" - Jesse Pinkman

last night's episode was boring.
And the newspaper in the show read "lawyer saves man's life" even tho he was not even gonna die even if the scenario WASN'T faked and saul DIDN'T save him, because he was hanging from a safety rope and harness, and emergency services were on their way... the newspaper wouldn't have written that because it's not like the guy was hanging by his hand clinging on for dear life.
