Thats pretty jugdmental and presumptious don't you think?
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and there is no need to call someone dumb b/c they don't agree with your viewpoint.

Judging intelligence in itself is somewhat judgemental. Measuring intelligence has always been debatable in society and has never been proven to be totally effective.
Face the facts though ... there is someone smarter than you out there and whether they are in fact male, female, black, white, japanese, mexican...etc... it totally irrelevant. It's not about how intelligent someone is - more in fact it's about how they use that intelligence. Genetics aside there is no conclusive proof whether anyone is smarter than anyone. Mind you we are the same species though so you would figure equal chance would be granted to everyone, but it's not. Say la vie!

But yeah, I don't appreciate being referred to as dumb. Especially from someone who doesn't actually know much about me. Because I happen to be a very intelligent woman.

xtcxtc, I appreciate that you are trying to start up a discussion. I am going to stop "discussing" because this is one of those topics with no difinitive answer. The jury is still out, so to speak. I also can't see the point of this discussion when in my social circle, the girls (me being the glaring exception) are equally as successful as the boys. Anyway, I don't want to give any more dumb answers and I should get back to my $%@#^% textbook.

Intelligence is nothing without drive, no matter how smart you are you may fail a subject if you lack the interest and desire to succeed.
Add that to the fact that these IQ tests are flawed anyway and who’s to say which sex/race is the smarter?
You can’t base intelligence around who is the greater at strategic games or puzzles or who has the best memory recall, or even who is a human calculator... these factors may make the basis of what we call intelligence but then you need to consider opportunity to learn, interest in subject matter, socioeconomic influences, you need to factor in the processes used to arrive at these decisions – just because you both got there doesn’t mean you arrived at your destination in the correct or easiest way, can you think logically, abstractly are you good at problem solving or can you instantly calculate the right angle to get that ball through the hoop without even realising you’ve done it.
If you desire to know something enough, you will master it, some of the most dim-witted people I have ever known are well respected experts in their fields.
Drive + knowledge = results.
And at the end of the day that’s all that matters.

at the highest levels women are not competitive with men.

Someone also brought this up earlier in part, but the idea of men being physically superior also has its problems. Yes, they may be physically stronger, and better able to build muscles, etc. I'm pretty sure that women might be better at making graceful and fine muscle movements (think dancers). So a lot of the "who is better in ___" just has to do with what you are operationally defining intelligent or physically superior or whatever.

What does this have to do with intelligence at all? If you're assuming that intelligence is something that is inherent and people are either born this way or not, then there is no real need to apply this intelligence in any certain way in order to possess it.

you are correct inasmuch as i do believe it is basically inherent. you are also correct that one can have the innate intelligence and not use it.
however the fact there has been a remarkable absence of women using their intelligence in the manner i suggest would tend to indicate it is not there in the first place. circumlocutious i know but then so was your statement.
