any successful occasional meth/heroin users?

I have tried herione once didn't really like it, but I do like to do oxycoton. Never actually got addicted to it, only do it once everyone 3 or 4 months. I honestly don't see how people can get addicted to it, like its nice but so boring.

i quit using meth about two years ago after a five year habit basically destroyed my life. now i find i can actually do it occasionally, i.e. one night only, every five or six months...but then i have an opiate problem to deal with now, and that takes up a lot of my energy.

I've used heroin, morphine, methamp & similar things. I've had no issues with any, but none are really my type of drug, they just make a nice change once every few months.

experience with meth for a few months or so now i dont even know but,
id say ofcourse its possible to be a monthly or weekly user but if you would still want to be one is the question, monthly use i dont think would be possible but im sure it works for someone out there. I use weekly sometimes twice a week and no more because i cant afford to get more which is good in a way i guess, but man weekly use is still a bad habit because u wont ever miss a week. If you can stay a weekly user for a long time then good work but I dont know its just a weird drug
So yea go with heroin by the sounds of it, I wish i did

I would say I have it borderline under control. I am a successful professional and due meth maybe 4-5 times a year and crack maybe 2-3 time per month. But sometime I did get a little carried away (like 4-5 times in 2 weeks) and realized I was on the verge of not controlling it. The key thing for me is having lots of things in my life to keep me busy and not having the time to do too many drugs.

I can use oxy every few weeks/months. I can also use meth every few weeks/months.

Got addicted to oxy once, but fixed that and now I can use whenever I want. Never got addicted to meth. I know when I need to stop.

I'm an occasional meth user. Although I hold myself back from doing it on anything more than a monthly basis, I find myself thinking about it ALL THE TIME. Every night trying to go to sleep it pops into my head and wont leave.

Also I've did heroin once two days in a row and found it to be stupid and probably will never do it again.

if you really like the idea of these drugs try pharms. like oxy/dilaudid and dexies/adderall

pharms also have a huge potential for abuse, but at least they're clean.
i went through an amphetamine addiction. it's not fun.

I use morphine or h once a month successfully, however I was addicted at one point and take .5 mg of suboxone daily for the rest of the month, so I dont know if that counts....

Im happy though, can focus on my life and not spend more than I can afford.

well my sister claims to have used h (snorted) once ever 3-6 months and she is graduating from collage this summer, she is also recovering from a broken heart and an alcholic. so right now shes doing better but she told me its only because her only hook up for h is her x boyfriend, i was like wut if u move to houston or dallas its everywere, she was like then id do it all the time, im worried because one she is very unstable , and 2 she is so nieve about the drug world, like i started drinking in hs like every other teenager , she never drank utill she got to colledge.i dont drink but once in a wile meanwile she drinks everyday, she has to, she is older but not wiser than me. i just know and have seen how bad opiet addiction can get it just depends on the person and i fear she will slip into it one of these days, i cant tell our parents . she just dosnt know how bad it can get yet. i had friends say the same shit, now i cant even see them anymore cus there soooo far gone after years of abuse. fuck

I think it depends on yourself to a large extent. For myself I have never
used meth and never will, because I know I'm not the type of person that
could easily stop myself from using.......then using....an using....an using..
using.usingusginusing...you get the idea.

I've always wanted to use a "hard drug" if you will on an occasional basis. I think I can do this if I can somehow manage to absolutely restrict access to the drug during the off-times. Unfortunately I've yet to think of a fool-proof way to do this. :/

And even if I could implement such a plan, I'd imagine it would still be psychologically difficult to maintain in that off-times would seem relatively boring...

The Lighter Side Of Methamphetamine Use

I'm sick of constantly reading about and hearing media reports about methamphetamine which are completely biased and not researched on a ground level.
All I keep hearing is shit like "you get hooked from the first time you try", "It will ruin your life", "All meth users end up criminals" and I just want to talk about a different side of methamphetamine use, a lighter side that is.

I am an average citizen, have a full time job, pay rent and bills, sees family regularly, exercises 5 times a week, eats well and routinely sees a psychologist and GP to make sure my health is good at all times.
I run a successful small business on the side, has a very full social calender and is actually very content with their life as a whole.
I do meth with my spouse and friend once or twice a month.
I always look after myself when on the drug, keep hydrated, stay home, still eat (it's hard but you can train yourself to still get food down) and tries to get in little power naps here and there especially if I'm planning to take the drug over a weekend or longer.
I never buy the drug with money I don't have. If I ever don't have money for the drug then I simply go without. I understands how slippery the slope of using and stealing the cash to keep using can be and I have always had ground rules and morals set in place from when I started using the drug at 18.
I do plan to give up the drug completely eventually and will often go months and sometimes years between sessions due to other commitments popping up or feeling the need to simply "back off" for awhile.

My reason for bringing this up today is to show you all that using meth doesn't have to mean your life is over. If you set boundaries and rules from the start, use in a small like-minded group and look out for eachother* then that combined with personal willpower should mean the drug doesn't effect your life and your health too significantly.

I would like to throw open the board for discussion, are there any others out there like me who use meth or other hard substances frequently and are still able to be a withstanding member of society?

The problem with powerful euphoric drugs like methamphetamine is that most people are not like you.

Human instinct seeks out that which activates the greatest reward. Whether it be eating a greasy cheese burger, having sex or smoking cystal meth. Methamphetamine produces euphoria considered to be "impractical" by my sense in that one constantly runs the risk of high-level addiction.

What happens if one hits a low point in life? They have been using methamphetamine responsibly, but now their depression causes them to spiral out of control. Suddenly 3 months go by and they've let their dark side transform them into an empty shell of what used to be a promising, full of life, human being.

I personally have had to use very strong will power to never intentionally seek out this substance. Primarily for its degrading effects on the reward system of the brain, reckless addiction potential and real life examples/words of warning. Every puff of meth is dancing on a razor's edge between the darkest section of the drug world and sanity.

The media will demonize any illegal substance. Sometimes they are correct, but most of the time the media misses the crucial points of why "chemical x" is actually dangerous in order to keep from advertising the substance.

I blew all my money on glass. Glad I despise it now.

OP, not everyone is as lucky as you. I knew what I was getting myself into the first time I tried meth, but nope. I became what I said I wouldnt. Its a horrible substance. Yes, you may be able to use it recreationally like you and your spouse, so consider yourselves lucky you can escape the clutches of the evil that glass is.

OP I dont think we get that idea from users that only get high once or twice a month. Its the hillbillies cooking meth all day and then having 20 friends go buy all the sudafed and them going on a meth pyschosis rage and killing someone that gives us those impressions. You dont sound like your addicted to meth and i dont think anyone has any problem with people that indulge once in a while. I personally lived in the south for 20 years and have seen how it just eats people up.

I just have to say besed on a lot of reading I've done on this forum that meth seems to be the 'last taboo', and still the safe substance to judge, the last resort for people who just have to be 'better than' someone to deride.
Not pointing a finger at anyone in this thread, but this thread seems like the best place to say this.
A barely-literate etard, heroin addict, or excessive polydrug user has ~zero~ room to judge and hypocritically decry the 'evils' of meth.
It's a drug like any other. Some can handle it, some can't. It is no better or worse than heroin, cocaine, et. all.
(although I do wish more manufactures would use safe processes, filter and properly dispose of waste, and for gods sake, keep the kids out of there.)

What trooper said, although even i would judge someone doing the shake n bake shit...and i am a fan of methamphetamine/amphetamine drugs, i consider myself to be pro-methamphetamine..but that shake n bake nonsense is disgusting, completely reckless and harmful and it gives meth a bad name if nothing else, the only meth users that are fair to judge are the shake n bake fuckers...i'd never turn down proper glass if offered but id never do that shake n bake BS.
JFK used methamphetamine, as did hunter s thompson, no one calls them tweaker scum.
for what its worth i'm a big fan of amphetamines and imo methamphetamine produces a high more euphoric and pleasurable than every other drug i've used...not to say dropping L or MDMA isn't more fun than tweak in certain environments/at certain times but methamphetamine IMO is untouchable in terms of inherent pleasurability..
i havent tried cocaine yet though so who knows...

Wow....i'm alot like you(OP). I work for the local newspaper 50 hrs a week, pay bills, and am in good health. I use meth about once every month or two months. THe problem is, the people i have to go through to get it are so fucking shady....wow....sooooooo shady.

Most popular kid in school, never addicted to anything, done just about any drug you can name. I use AT LEAST once a week, opiates, stimulants (amphetamines are my flower child), psychedelic, downers, uppers, you name it... get decent grades. Have my choice of any women I want, a family that loves me, I've got some of the top college's contacting me because they want me to study music.

The media is full of shit, you can definitely use drugs regularly and be successful. The key is control and moderation. I have a keen love for psychedelics and stimulants. I've used amphetamines, opiates, and other drugs for weeks on end then stopped without issue. Mind over matter people.

Another thing, I've accepted that I'm going to stop at some point in the next 1-10 years simply because I will of learned everything I needed to know from drugs.
