Hume and Kant’s Criticism of the Cosmological Argument
Both David Hume (1711-1776) and Immanuel Kant (1724-1804) criticised the Cosmological Argument.
Hume maintained that we have no experience of universes being made and it is simply not possible to argue from causes within the universe to causes of the universe as a whole. There is a logical jump which the argument fails to recognise. It is one thing to talk about causes that operate within the system of the universe, but it is an entirely different matter to speculate about whether the system as a whole is caused.
Immanuel Kant rejected the argument outright not only because he maintained that the idea of a ‘Necessary Being’ was incoherent but also because our knowledge is limited to the phenomenal world of space and time and it is not possible to speculate about what may or may not exist independently of space and time.
Hume argued that it was illegitimate to move from saying that every event in the universe has a cause to the claim that the universe has a cause. Bertrand Russell made a similar point by remarking that this was like moving saying that every human being has a mother. One cannot move from individual causes to the claim that the totality has a cause.
Can you translate this into plain English, please??^^^

Additionally,
No I'm not being sarcastic, and no its not self-explanatory to me.^^ I am not sure if you are being sarcastic or not.
The text on Hume/Kant is self-explanatory to me. Not sure what I can explain more. I can only give you the same advice I always give myself: if something is too difficult just go slower, try to understand each term, and finally try to understand the argumentation as such
I wasn't talking about shooting up Heroin and Cocaine. I was thinking more about something like Kratom, which is both stimulant and euphoric without drugging you out, and can make you capable of very high mental activity for a long time and enjoy it. Surely stimulants make a great difference, even if it's just coffee.
Don't tell me you imagine me shooting up speedballs or that I've ever shot anything up for that matter. There has to be some kind of limits and on the contrary my mind is so hyperactive I can never get rid of all my mental energy. It keeps me up all night and I'm in dire need of something to calm me down.
Yep! I keep my beliefs to myself most of the time out of respect for my family.
Now you all NEED to accept Jesus Christ into your Hearts immediately! He's the only WAY! For the scriptures say....
'Our father is old, and there is no man around here to give us children—as is the custom all over the earth. 32 Let’s get our father to drink wine and then sleep with him and preserve our family line through our father.”
33 That night they got their father to drink wine, and the older daughter went in and slept with him. He was not aware of it when she lay down or when she got up.
34 The next day the older daughter said to the younger, “Last night I slept with my father. Let’s get him to drink wine again tonight, and you go in and sleep with him so we can preserve our family line through our father.” 35 So they got their father to drink wine that night also, and the younger daughter went in and slept with him. Again he was not aware of it when she lay down or when she got up.
36 So both of Lot’s daughters became pregnant by their father.'
Oh wait, that's the erotica section.
No, but really I don't just believe in God, I know there's a God. I've seen him. (No God isn't a him or a her... but it's just easier to say him then to explain)
I can give you step by step instructions on how to meet him yourself... Face to face. This will be something just FOR you, never mind what the world thinks... You'll have first had knowledge.

If religion, prayer, or God-belief hindered criminal behavior, and secularity or atheism
fostered lawlessness, we would expect to find the most religious nations having the lowest
murder rates and the least religious nations having the highest. But we find just the opposite. Murder rates are actually lower in more secular nations and higher in more religious
nations where belief in God is deep and widespread (Jensen 2006; Paul 2005; Fajnzylber
et al. 2002; Fox and Levin 2000)
