Primarily by their own choosing. They have access to many resources (education being the key) - but elect to squander their lives consuming alcohol, drugs, tobacco etc. and bothering people along the way ("got any change?", "got a cigarette?").

It'd sound harsh to say I despise them but they do annoy me. I mean, I'm sure 1 out of 100 is decent. It just so happens that I've never met him/her :\

(That's not to say other cultures don't contain their own lowlife trash... just that Aborigines seem to have a higher proportion of trash to population.)
 
I tell you, if an aborigine takes advantage of all the opportunities that are avaliable... they absolutely sky rocket. I got two examples.

One of my mates is full blood and as of 10 days ago... finished his Bachelor of Optometry with absolutely NO debt to pay back :)

Another did a chef apprenticeship at the Hilton hotel (very sought after), which gave him the skills and oppoturnity to travel anywhere in the world to work in a Hilton (he's in Japan).

I think if they weren't given all the extra support, they wouldn't have achieved such success. So the money that they are "throwing at them" can really make a difference sometime.
 
^ I would say they have more 'opportunity' than anyone, as you have evidenced in your examples, ... it just so happens they're all so goddamn stupid/lazy/whatever to take them.

Well consider the one that is now an optometrist (quite amazingly) got beat regularly, didn't get any school supplies (parents spent it on goon) or encouragement to go to school and eventually had to move out of home (which centrelink supported).

I'm all for the support, they are disadvantaged. I judge every individual on their own merits... so if someone is rude, dirty/smelly, bludging and in general being an asshole... it doesn't matter whether they're aborigine or not.
On another note, most of them are pretty ugly too. I mean, they do look like baboons. Or chimpanzees. More monkey than man

On the most part all my experiences with Aboriginals have been bad. Same old shit "got a ciggy? Got a dollar? da da da..." Hell, one time when I was visiting Dubbo a couple of blokes approached me and told me that if I had a fight with their mate and won, they'd give me an ounce. Otherwise I had to pay. Now their mate wasn't the biggest of men (not many of them are), however I know a trap when I see one. Anyway, that's about as close as most of them get to working I reckon.

However I was in Walget on business a few years ago and ended up meeting a decent bloke that really was a genuine fella. He wanted me and my mates to sample "real" Aboriginal life so he invited us over for dinner. We had a great night of drinking and eating all sorts of crazy outback treats. The night came to a pretty quick end however when his mates started getting pissed and things started getting firey.

So yeah, I've met ONE (1) decent Aboriginal in my life.

I'm originally from NZ and I find it very interesting that the Maori's can assimilate fairly well in society and for some reason the Aboriginals can't. On most days I would never see a single Aboriginal around Brisbane.
 
heh, while we're telling positive stories... this one half cast I know raises 9 kids basically on her own. She's in a rocky relationship with her partner, who's a sailor at sea 75% of the time.

She is a WONDERWOMEN! I am constantly in awe at how the hell she manages all those kids all at once. 3 of them aren't even her own... they belong to her partner and his ex girlfriend [but even when he's at sea she looks after them.] 2 of them were from her previous relationships. Then she had an extra 2 to her current partner... and a year later popped out twins. And actually, now that I think about it... she's pregnant again!

Even my mum is impressed with this chick... we'll see her down at the local shopping centre with all these kids hanging off her, and she's just SO wonderful with them! There she is walking around with a smile on her face, completely enjoying their company 8(.

We don't see each other much, but live close by so one night she called me to look after them all while she went to work [different job to what's mentioned later.] I did it, and I've been avoiding her ever since. I honestly thought the night would never end... seemed to drag on forever.

And yes, she works! At the child care centre, funnily enough [where else could she juggle a job with her parenting? :D]

Question: How come the main board says KemicalBurn is the last poster, on page 3, yet when I click it, it comes to page 2 and m4dd0g is the last poster?

(I've cleared browser cache.)

I saw Preacha as the last poster on page 3,and didnt see his post either. (my post isnt showing up either). and it went back to m4dd0g to also being the last poster...

You wouldnt happen to be using FireFox would you?
 
I've never been asked for a cigarette by an ...Aborigine (never randomly, by any skin, actually :()...but a couple of weeks ago I tried to bum one late at night, drunk, and he said "What did you say cunt?!." Was the end of it.

Things like this don't reaffirm any conceptions I have of a specific coloured people - they reaffirm my day to day thoughts that people are fuckwits. This is just a small slice of day to day fuckwittery, and really, I appreciated the honesty of his fuckwittery.

Following this (non)logic - the predominant colour of skin in this country being burnt white - white people are the biggest group of fuckwits in my life.

Imma go beat my pale ass right now. So fucking white.
