It's even more vital in my opinion that it doesn't clash with the Glade (18th-20th July) as a large percentage of EADDers will be attending.
I doubt anyone from mainland Europe goes there, so a large percentage would just stay on their continent anyway.

how about smaller bl meetups in local spots

shit there's a party right here, you're all invited

the pants party

would you like to come it

This could be a heap of fun, and a great chance to meet people i've been wanting to meet for up to 7 years (if the fuckers come ;)).

I'd make a full holiday of it, visit relos in France, Switzerland and London and then make a recovery stop in Thailand on the way back to Australia. ;)

I am thinking the same too, samadhi. I have relatives in Swiss so I might just drop by. If any of you go to Zurich, go eat at Lee's Takeaway. That's my uncle's place. :)

Personal opinion is to stick with the off season, so its cheaper and easier to book places...

ditto, i picked september or october.

if you are serious about going, i would start preparing by making sure you have a passport... in the US, you can find out about passports here.

indeed folks should be booking their own places to stay, but are we just going for "somewhere in amsterdam" or are we going to try and get rooms in the same area? maybe not all in the same hotel, but at least within walking/biking distance of eachother would be the best IMO. I was just suggesting, or actually, seconding a suggestion that a group of people or something should take the lead here and get a plan set up for those of us who know nothing about international travel. I have no idea where I would go to exchange money personally. It'd be nice to have some people around who kind of "know the ropes" so to speak.

I lived in Amsterdam for two months and know the city fairly well. One nice thing about it...everything is within walking/biking distance. The city is unbelievably easy to find your way around, and there is almost nowhere you can get a hotel that isn't a 15 min walk tops from anywhere else.

If you have any questions about the city I can probably help to answer from a traveler's/outsider's standpoint.

Jase hasn't been seen in four years :(. I'm sure someone is still in touch with him; whether he'd be interested in coming I don't know. Skydancer could probably be convinced, he's still occasionally around.

Not on the boards at least.

Yeah, I should have been more explicit.

He's still a phone call away from Chr1.5 though,[/QUOTE]

Good point. This is kinda what I was getting at (though I wasn't sure if they were still in touch). I'm sure Chris would make the effort to get him involved in a meetup :)

I think I suggested somewhere way back when that we hold it in and around some other big event dates. This way, those who wished to, could kill two birds with one stone and attend multiple events not to far from one another. A weekend here, three or four days for a civil tour, then a weekend there, then off home. Provided there is no rain in sight, Glastonbury rules, btw! There's also Dance Valley which caught my attention.
