Not a bad idea.

Remember that Glastonbury is on the equinox - probably June 25th or thereabouts. Suggest we hold this at least two weeks after Glastonbury, because a number of us will want to go to that (alternative: a week after Glasto; those with long holidays could come over for the festival and then go the meetup the next week). But we should definitely not hold this at the same time as Glastonbury.

It's even more vital in my opinion that it doesn't clash with the Glade (18th-20th July) as a large percentage of EADDers will be attending.

and for god's sake goddamn hungary made it on this list?

what ever happened to beirut? israeli ecstacy and lebanese hash aren't enough of a draw? :D

certainly not Israel, but BEIRUT, the city of my young life!

Pass, I think there's a great appeal to being able to walk two blocks and get stoned. Don't you?

I would have liked thailand, but I guess it won't happen. Can you imagine if there was a bust in Thailand... FUCK.

But the lovely Lebanese women, the opium, the hash, the ecstacy....Hizballah!

:)

Opium? Fuck that, why do opium when heroin is so readily available

well that too.......you're just impossible to please

if you want a nice cold dreary location then fine :)

I go wherever there is heroin, ecstasy, trance, and a Guido friendly population.

Welcome to Beirut. even though I disagree with you calling me a guido

In my country you would be a person who had their ancestors vanquished with bone-stick.

indeed folks should be booking their own places to stay, but are we just going for "somewhere in amsterdam" or are we going to try and get rooms in the same area? maybe not all in the same hotel, but at least within walking/biking distance of eachother would be the best IMO. I was just suggesting, or actually, seconding a suggestion that a group of people or something should take the lead here and get a plan set up for those of us who know nothing about international travel. I have no idea where I would go to exchange money personally. It'd be nice to have some people around who kind of "know the ropes" so to speak.

there are money exchange places in the airport. banks will exchange money. train stations exchange money. you can avoid the hassle and travel with just credit cards and travellers checks. or exchange money to whatever currency while you are still in the states.

i don't think its too hard to look at a map, pick an area near the major event meetup and let people fend for themselves. call me paranoid, but i don't want people (other than the ones i am traveling with) knowing where i am staying...

in the US, many BLers attend starscape. everyone handles their own arrangements and people make plans to meetup at the actual event. there is no central body organizing it all, yet plenty of people manage to end up in baltimore every summer. i would think something similar should occur, rather than a group of random people planning everything for everyone.

i don't think everyone should be staying in the same hotel. that is a horrible horrible horrible idea and just asking for trouble IMO. i would hope most people are smart enough to be able to book their own hotel in a designated area of the city. furthermore, if you are traveling internationally and can't figure out how to exchange your money or find food yourself, perhaps you should just stay home...

there should be large scale events planned like meeting up at a club, or sight seeing or whatnot but the major details should be left up to individual bluelighters.

i almost went to b^^^nr^^e in florida for those that have been here long enough they'll tell how horrible an idea it is to have a hotel for everyone to stay in. just pick a city let everyone make there own argeements

meh, I can't see a decent crowd from this place actually all planning on getting somewhere across a freakin ocean by themselves....

It is a bit shit for far away bluelighters. But for us local ones it's brilliant. All I can say is tough shite to everyone else.

makes me think this was just out of the blue.. i mean, when was the last time there were local meets? if blers in each city knew each other then it would be easier to plan to journey together and see where money can be saved. global meet seems hella ambitious when most active BLers would have to cross a large body of water to first get to the meet location... and a weak turnout is enough to make anybody who would have to travel far cop out.
