wow someone is having a heavy flow day...

I love how just because I am female and someone pisses me off I have a "heavy flow" but if I were a guy who said that, well, I'd be a cool as hell asshole. If I have a point to be made, and an important one, why not actually be constructive and discuss it.

Euphoricnod, number one it is a year and a half away, your telling me those of us who are in school cannot plan on being absent? I mean either way, even if it is planned during regular summer months, there are still going to be many in school. I suppose I dont really care which month, except july, october, november and december - because these are the most expensive months to travel in and around the US.

Amen Tally...

WVs I'm saying that I wouldn't want to be absent from school for a whole month or more. We'll just plan around the time that's good for you? Fuck that shit.

If I'm going to Europe I'm sure as fuck not burning a few grand on a plane ticket to go for a goddamn month or less. If I go I'm staying there and I need time to do that. The only time I can do that shit is when I'm off from classes.

EN: excuse dumb question from a southerner, but when exactly are the holidays, for you guys? June-August, or something like that? (Obviously they're different down here because the seasons are reversed).

and btw, regarding planning, WV is right to be cautious (although I suspect that, seeing as this won't be in the US, we run fewer risks than we did in Florida).

Excuse me, but I wasn't stating what would be good "for me" I was suggesting that july, october, november and december would not be good months for people in the US to travel because the airfares will double in price. And thank you for clarifying, I didn't realize you were intending on a whole month in Europe, look we are all on the same page.

Anyone know what dates school generally ends and begins. I suppose than either early August or Mid June are best?

I think we have to take into consideration that if its during "School time" a lot of us aren't gonna be able to come.
and the down side is...? ;)

nah, good point. i was referring to screaming little brats, i was forgetting about college students. just showing my age i suppose.

the cost to me (regardless of the time of the year) will be negligible compared to folks going from the US etc., so please forget I spoke. :o

september ftw.

cheaper flights/ferries/accomodation, still warm, and no brats running about cos they're back to school. ;)
As I said, september would be a shit month, and I know it more than anyone else, I live 40km from Amsterdam, and have been living theire all my life. First of all, there are no big parties in Amsterdam in september, they're all in june, july and august. Second of all, everyone who lives in the Netherlands has to work in september for shure, since school holidays are from around the first week of june to the last week of july, and adults have a much shorter holiday than schoolchildren, so they can't attend for shure. They are the ones you'll need to help out the most with organising and stuff, they're local.

Yes, july and august will be school holiday, but most Dutchmen are on holiday to France, Spain and Italy anyway, so it won't be very busy in Amsterdam around that time, and only few people live in the city centre anyway, it's mostly just store, musea and shit like that, so you won't find much brats in the city centre anyway.

Amen to that, and people with a job will have to work as well. The best date would be when most people have their holidays, which is july/august.

Thanks so much for that info Psych0naut!! That is what we needed, words from a local!

So just to sum up, pretty much June is the best time for everyone (across the globe)?

Anyone want to concede on June?

IJ our breaks lie in Late May, June, July and August. Sometimes parts of September.

Our winter break sits in late december to mid january.

May-Sept. are ideal for this.

aside from worries about authorities, i don't want to be bother by random strangers if i am chilling in my room.

i am LOLling at the fact there is still debate about when to have this, plus another poll. the thread title had JUNE 2009 in it for as long as i can remember :D

now then, are we sure amsterdam is the best place for this? how about glasgow? or beijing? or antartica?

and 2009? it's a bit soon/not soon enough, how about we change that too?

i'm drunk. and on drugs. never mind me. :D

just want to clarify in advance, so as to avoid any potential unpleasantness: would you - in theory - class me as a random stranger? even if i wasn't staying in the same hotel?

just checking. :|

(oh, and define 'bother')

I voted for June -> September and am leaning towards organizing this around a large event. I will definitely be there! :)

^^^^^ As I said for a dozen times now, it will still be some months before the agenda of partyflock, the Dutch party network will be fully updated for the summer of 2009. When the agenda is updated, we'll have an excellent overview of all the parties in and around Amsterdam, the prices, the DJ's/ artists who will be playing and the exact location(which square/club/hall/building it's located at). Once partyflock's agenda is updated, we can accurately take a specific look at which parties to plan the meeting around.
