2013-2014 NBA Thread v. AI is officially retired

First two bets of the night, feeling pretty good about them.

Detroit/Toronto first half total points 98 1/2 under
Detroit/Toronto total points 198 under

Toronto put up a lot more than I would expect; but coming off a loss in Miami and now back how you should expect them to want to put on a show. Detroit put up what should be expected and a 95-93 win would have been nice but Toronto went off.

sorry, man.

golden state almost came back last night. if Curry hit a 3 instead of that long range 2 toward the end there MAY have been a chance. they are a fucking FUN team to watch w/ the shots they put up and the moves they make.

and yes, Blakes dominance has def. moved on up since CP3 left.

I like Golden State this year and I normally am not a fan of any bay area team so thats saying aomething

mostly I just became a huge iguodala fan after he got out of philly. took him almost 8 years to realize he isnt a jump shooter but ithink hes in a good spot now

great spot now; was never a jump shooter; but he's a GOOD all around player. from scoring underneath, to rebounding and assists. hell, he even hit a game winning 3 the other night. the guy is a TRUE play maker and can make things happen and he makes a team better than they are.

he's NOT a leader but he's a great 2 man to have to control an offense and make plays.

LOL JR Smith is always good for an annual WTF moment:

Sixers have to trade Thaddeus Young or Evan Turner, starting to get a little pissed it hasnt happened yet and I pray to christ they move ET over Thad but AT LEAST one of em. team is lotto bound and plenty of teams would take either of those guys

Thad is seriously one of the most underrated players in the NBA, no other way about it. Can play PF or SF and is starting to hit 3's consistently now that he's got a coach who actually lets him shoot them (aka not Doug Collins). Imagine Iguodala but slightly less explosive athleticism (no knock of thad, iggy is just a freak) but with a better shot. And you cant find nobody to take his ass?

he goes to any contender and they get instant starter talent off the bench, which doesnt exactly grow on trees in the nba

anyone ever write something on here than see the same shit on Bleacher Report? kind of a let down people get paid to say the same stuff we talk about in these threads lol

It happens all the time man. I'd love to be a sports journalist but I'm would hate writing for teams like the pacers, mavs, bulls or any team like that. God forbid being the beat writer for the Cavs :(

yeah I'd have a hard time not calling Dan Gilbert a fucking faggot in every article

fucking Bleacherreport sucks and I will love to kick its owner square in the balls

I would love to be doing anything with writing. but I'm sure you get paid like $8 per BR.com article. plus I would want to take the drug-fueled sportsman approach, but HST set that bar pretty high. plus I've always been a better reader than writer, sadly enough

Yeah shim trading Thaddeus Young would be the worst thing the sixers could do. I think he has more value than any other player on their roster

trade ET and Spencer Hawes while their trade value is at an all time high. Sixers need a legit center because their defense is absolute garbage.. i don't give a fuck if hawes can pop a 3 once in awhile, they need a shot blocker and you don't even have one right now

well that depends on whether Noel plays center or pf and im assuming hea going to play PF if they keep Spencer. Thad's already requested to be traded so they might as well get something for him now since theyre going to suck dick this year and slightly less dick next year. I want a PF in the draft (Randall? UK 1&done frontcourt ftw) so if they keep him they should try to play him at SF.

ideal situation in my mind: ET and Spencer are gone

pg-mcw
sg-tony wroten
sf- thaddeus daddeus
pf- Julius Randall / Jabari Parker / Aaron Gordon
c- Nerlens Noel

damn thatd be a pretty fun team to watch but lord knows whos comin off the bench

if they could bide time until 2015 free agency id be coo with 2 years of sub .500 basketballl

I'd KILL to be an NBA ANALYST; I know so much about the game it's ridic. I am 31yrs old now and have been watching since I was 7 or 8. Remembering the early years where the Celtics were champions. Then seeing MJ's ride throughout the 90's; meanwhile I was ALWAYS a SHAQ fan and wanted him to dominate all (thats when there were BIG MEN). then 2000 came and I was happy to see SHAQ get every trophy imaginable. same goes for the next 2 years. kinda weird in weird 4 when they picked up Malone who was STILL PLAYING GOOD. I am SHOCKED they lost to Detroit. They play GOOD BALL but had NO ROCK STARS on that team; they were the Memphis Grizzlies of last year, right? Good team but no rock star? and they wont the title? so maybe the Grizz have a shot? or is Mark Gasol getting to be too big of a name?

I love NBA, dude. watch NBA games everytime I am on home on the package and also watch NBA TV when no games are on and I have to catch up. some nights I NEED TO GO OUT AND BE SOCIAL so its tough for me to watch certain games when bigger games are on some nights; whether it be college, football, whatever.

Yeah definitely wasn't expecting Detroit to play such horrible defense. Oh well, I won't be betting on detroit for awhile lol

Why are you betting on NBA games this early in the season. It's a much better strategy to wait until football season is over, when teams actually start playing.

you must be much of a better, dude. ha. I'd fucking bet pre-season games. plus, you can still feel out MANY games being played; esp. those on certain channels, or battling for a spot, etc. you just gotta know the sport and the team.
