meh, ATL could still come back. just remember the Steelers were down by 14 at the half as well

and the Falcons offense > Steelers offense for sure

I just can't believe that the mighty might of the Pittsburgh D held the Ravens to like 130 total yards??

cuz your QB is choking and let Bmore get a defensive touchdown

I wouldnt call a blindside strip/sack a choke.

But I would call a 4th and 19 pass right into your #2 or #3 WR hands only to be dropped and ending the season a choke. As one of my best friends always says, "It hit him in a bad place......his hands." ;)

thanks for the kind words, it is a glorious day to be a Steelers fan

I almost missed the comment of somebody saying Big Ben was choking? hot damn, "Big Ben" and "choke" have never even been in the same paragraph of one-and-another. he is like the anti-Peyton Manning (meaning that he does not choke)

but... speaking of choking... it looks like the Falcons are in fact choking

this is why I hate NFL dome teams. they have always came up as soft, and they always will in my mind. why does a team even need a dome in the South? I know it's very warm down there in the first month of NFL action - but I think it's unnecessary?

never trust a dome team from the South to beat the spread in the NFL playoffs

PS - it looks like they use fluorescent lighting in the Georgia Dome? talk about puuuuke-worthy

go PACK. fuck YEA. im sorry. I did not expect this.

damn CS - I knew your GB Pack Attack was good - but this good?! it seems like Green Bay has FINALLY found a reliable running back! and what better time to find this than the playoffs? I'd say your GB Packers are officially now SB bound!!

I'd like to personally congratulate you myself, in this thread, right now. CONGRATS!

and keep up the posting in my S&G! it's great to have you around these parts as I like to have a BLer represent every important team in the NFL

and we used to have a Packers guy (the dude with the glimmering GB avatar) - but he has been long gone the last couple of years

so stick around my nacka!!

I agree. Something about running around on carpet that just doesn't sit right with me. You can't hang tough if you come off the field with no mud on you. :\

As much as I am happy for the win, plenty of other play off teams would be able to hold a first half lead like the Ravens had. Impressive defence in the 2nd half though. Bodes well for next week.

Packers are winning the NFC. it's so obvious when they are up against the more-to-be desired Chicago Bears and the Seattle Seahawks...

since when is Aaron Rodgers the second best player in the NFL?

he's good, and he has the stats. I've seen John Clayton go back and forth between Rodgers or Roethlisberger as the #2 QB of the year...

however, in the NFL I think Super Bowl trophies are the most important factor to a player's success. I don't think that Big Ben is the second best player in the NFL, but I think that Aaron Rodgers has a LONG way to go. again, he has nice stats, but don't get ahead of yourself

Rodgers has only won ONE playoff game ;)

He was damn near unstoppable last night. I expected the Pakers to win, but I didnt expect ARod to dominate them the way he did.

2 of his most medicre performances of the year came against Chicago, so will be interesting to see how he fares next week,(unless Seattle shocks us all) but he is starting to pick it up a notch at the right time, he has elevated his game to the extent that I dont think there is a better QB that isnt named Tom Brady in the NFL.

It would be one hell of a QB showdown if both make it to the big dance.

it's also a safety concern? our teams are more likely to have skin/ankle injuries, instead of concussions. i'd rather my team run around on carpet and get rug burn than run around in mud and have concussions. i'm sure brett farve feels the same about this.

Pander & I watched the Falcons game at ChickenScratch's house, which I think was better than watching it alone. CS ~apparently~ makes amazing wings, and lives next door to all these guys who work for PBR so we got tons of free alcohol. It was appropriate. I am despondent at the thought of another terribly boring insufferable superbowl. :|

As much as I dislike Cutler, I always enjoy watching a Mike Martz offense.

This one has the air of inevitablity already.

Nasty injury for Carlson, doesnt look good.

why do you dislike jay cutler? he seems like a mediocre guy on a mediocre team, nothing about him ruffles me one way or another. he was the most expensive trade in history, and if he goes to the bowl, it will be rubbing Denver's face in it.

we are both Steelers fans, and let me give you my thoughts on your opinion that plenty of other playoff teams would be able to hold a 14 point half-time advantage - I digress! lest you forget, at the start of the 4th quarter, the Steelers limited the "potent' Baltimore Ravens offense to just 100 yards. add our Pittsburgh team sporting a Big Ben who is ALWAYS good in the playoffs and good for at least 300 yards in the air with 2 touchdowns... and anything can happen. I did give up some hope after the 1st half as well, mostly because the Ravens D was giving us some problems. thankfully Big Ben split the game wide open in the 2nd half

I feel like I can give some insight to the perpetual turf vs grass debate. I have played on both (grass in high school for footbaw and turf for college). let me just say that I also LOVE grass fields. there is nothing better than getting muddy, rainy, and immersing yourself in Mother Nature's elements. hell Busty, our esteemed Steelers are one of the only NFL teams that still use a natural grass field!

I wouldn't want it any other way, although in college artificial turf wasn't so bad. the fake shit did feel like a nasty rug burn when one slides across it, but the turf sports a lot of scientific advancements in safety - the biggest one is how the turf gives a little bit when one is slammed on the ground. it's definitely a little more noticeable. but I wouldn't give up natural grass for nothin'

you and me both, man. I didn't mean to discount Aaron Rodgers yesterday before his game, I just wanted us all to sit back and let him perform in playoffs... then we can judge. so far, so DAMN good for Rodgers. I didn't know he would light it up like that either

meh, Jay Cutler seems okay but he always looks kinda drunk when he's out there on the field. I wouldn't really want him as my team's QB, despite him having probably the strongest arm in the NFL

he looks like a drunkard... and he's from Vandy? wtf Vandy??

I am starting to wish the New Orleans Saints topped the Seattle Seahawks last round of the NFL playoffs. I know the Hawks won fair and square, but I have a tough time believing that NO would get blown out THIS BAD by Chicago

it's the god damn playoffs! no more blowout games, please! can the remaining teams please play like real men and not some cupcaked twinkies??

I want to be entertained! GO JETS!

Looks like the Pats became a little too smart for theie own good. fake reverses etc.

Hopefully NY scores here, for a neutral it makes for a better game, we dont want to see another 45-3 beatdown.
