As a whole I like New Jersey. I live in the central/west area so it ain't no thugs and shit heads runnin' around in my town. Farmlands/suburbia for the win. Now conveniently, Newark is only 25 minutes down I-78, so 'fun' is always a knockin'.

I grew up here, left here, came back, left, came back.. Now I am trying to get AWAY from fucking methadone and heroin and leave again. After my dad died I moved back and then really hit the fucking bottom, like, last stop, get off or you're dead kinda rock bottom. Of course there's no elevator back to the top. Spiral stair cases only.

I am not a city person, so I love the quiet, beautiful, farmlands and suburbia that is prevalent in my neck of the woods. No, not fucking guidos from Livingston.

Hunterdon Country, Western Somerset, Warren County, Sussex. = Beautiful. As close to Oregon/Northern California as I can get while I am here. Except no huge billion dollar grow ops and medical marijuana. (Yet)

The cool thing about Jersey is there is no joke like a huge microcosm of every ethnic group, income bracket, drug circle, mountain folk, upper class, middle class, no fuckin' class..

We've got it all. NJ should be it's own country.

Hunterdon county can be a pretty area, but I cannot stand it. Cops in my town ain't got shit to do and they got 25 officers(which is fairly large for a town of about 7,000-8,000 residents). Plus, everybody and they're dog has a BMW and thinks they're the shit for it too. My high school was full of whiny brats driving brand new cars, everybody lives in mcmansions round here too. Too much of the same, not enough weirdos to keep it interesting lol. Sorry for the rant. I just can't stand the area I live in. I hate not being able to walk anywhere. You're trapped if you don't gots a whip.
 
^Yep. I've been feeling mad bitter about it lately too. I hate this area. No car=No fun when you live out here. There is literally NOTHING within walking distance of my house lol. I can literally feel my brain turning into mush from the nonstop television. Nothing else to do when you're unemployed and got no car.

HC is easily the worst county in NJ and not coincidentally, the only county that always votes republican in the entire state. I of course mean in presidential elections. State politics in NJ make no sense and just make me really mad.

I'm from Jersey, never really liked it so much but now I'm proud as hell to be from here. Y'all just scared of us and shit. Or not. I dunno lol
 
I know a particular Pennsylvania lady would moved to NJ in September and is happier here than she's ever been.
 
Only been to NYC and I wasn't impressed in the least. Even eating at Denny's was prohibitively expensive. Snotty, pretentious people there as well. I know it ain't Jersey but it's close as I've gotten.
 
NYC & NJ are two different worlds.... One main reason people leave NYC in exchange for NJ is the cost of living is waaay less than NYC; plus the train takes you into NJ the same way it can take you around NYC.... But everything is way cheaper... My town of Jersey City has a decent number of New Yorkers who migrated to NJ for the cheaper cost of living.... The closest town that will remind you of NYC in NJ is Hoboken its full of rich yuppies...
 
in the uk here i watch sometimes Jersey Shore r u guys n girls really like that. Surely its a parody of u guys.pls let me know pm if u have to

It aint nothing like jersey. The people there aint nothin like jersey people. everything there costs like 2 times as much as it does out here, everybodys a fuckin snob, etc, and Im talkin I guess Manhattan. People in the hood aint like that, but when u think NYC people think of downtown, times square, the village, all that yuppie crap. You woulna had the same impression if you had been in one of the boros (well, not parts of brooklyn since all the douchey hipster suckas moved into BK) but u get the idea.

Def dont judge NJ on a trip to touristville NYC.:)

Douchey hipster suckas lololololol. There's nothing worse than hipsters yo. I always kinda felt like they were just as bad a preppy kids because they try just as hard to fit into the style of being purposely unstylish, but it really is in style because of the fact that it's the not in style style. That's really confusing, but I hope you get the point lol.

That show is a disgrace to New Jersey. The cast members aren't even from Jersey, are they? I fuckin' hate that show. 99 percent of new jersey is nothing like that.. Well, except Livingston.
