Newcomers - Cold Water Extraction: Method Do's & Don'ts

dont fucking believe this , just found a box full of tramadol ffs xD

they say on them Zydol 50mg tramadol hydrochloride

theres 60 of the them in caplets

never tried them before what do they do ?

I dont know the exact chemistry behind tramadol, but they have some SNRI effect (feels kind of speedy, i like it releases serotonin, and then metabolites into O-desmethyltramadol which is a mild opiate. Some get loads out of it (me included), some feel nothing.

Heard reports of them easing opiate withdrawal too, but tramadol addiction is terrible, as you withdraw from opiate and snri at the same time :o

be careful with mixing with anything though, it has something like 600 drug interactions and 300 of them are classed as serious :p

edit: oh and no more than 400mg in 24 hours, above 400mg is known to cause seizures and other nasty effects)

so this shit is an opiate ?

ive heard of them before but never tried them , i was looking through my folks old meds box and saw them i was like " oh hello whats this then " my face fucking lit up like a xmas tree on a 1000v supply of electricity ha ha

when i saw the date prescribed on the box as 2006 i thought damn they will be passed it but they are ok till june he he

seriosly tho i know fuck all about them as in how many to take or anything ,, think i should make a thread in OD to get some advice

Yeah make a thread, its a drug you have to be very careful with mixing.

This is off topic now, so back on track, my paramols are currently slowly filtering through coffee filters, nice clear solution appearing :)

cool man .. think i dont need to bother with the co-dydramol any more today but they will make good for a back up some day

on topic let us know how your extraction goes :)

and cheers for advice :)

Not quite. There's a thread here about it with quite a lot of information and first-hand accounts. Do your reseach on it; I used to love it for a while but took it every day and soon grew to be a bit bored and eventually very cautious.

thanks been reading that just now, it was looking ok then took 100mg then i got to the parts where someone said their partner was fucking blue in the face not breathing and was like "oops time to stick my fingers down my throat " lol

but then i started to actually feel pretty calm so they seem to be working fine

Bah no potentiators about except promethazine but i don't wanna get drowsy, i heard antacids can help prolong the buzz?

edit: honestly smackcraft its fine, thats a rare rare side effect, i would bump up to 200mg to have a good time :)

seems tolerance has kicked in, 2 packs and im nicely relaxed but not the nodding that i got yesterday, plus the second one didnt take too biter so not sure it filtered aswell. Oh well, still nice :)

Will it? Obviously it will kick in quicker, but why would it wear off quicker? It's not a different ROA, so I can't see why this would be the case. Unless you only mean like 5-10 minutes quicker than tablets.

Liquids pass through you faster than solids.
I was surprised how much quicker it was actually - I thought the same as you, but after time doing CWE's and taking tablets it's really evident.

I concur. Have been experimenting a fair bit with straight codeine vs co-co effectiveness and CWE fall very far short in almost every way for me. Have tried (and still trying) a variety of CWE techniques and one constant I've found is that CWEs are brief and seem to lose large(ish) amounts of Goodies. That's not to say they're worthless so much as being... somewhat disappointing in comparison. Straight codeine pills last me up to 24 hours (obviously the most intense stage is somewhat briefer) whereas CWE seem to last around half as long (obviously the most intense stage is somewhat briefer). I also seem to get far higher from significantly smaller doses of straight codeine pills compared to a CWE equivalent - I need at least 1/3 extra codeine (in co-co form) to get close to the same initial effect of straight codeine pills.

Other observations... have tried several CWE techniques now - two of which stand out for me. The "best" (for me) remains the folded T-shirt technique - fairly rapid extraction and by far the best high as a rule. Downsides being a possibly iffy filtering... but am not totally convinced of that so far. Second best being tissues or kitchen roll - slow to filter but (possibly) clearer... and far briefer and weaker for me... but still okay.

Example plucked at random: did a tissue CWE earlier on 15 30/500 co-cos (450mg codeine) which was okay but wore off within 3-4 hours. Did a CWE through a T-shirt (3-4 layers of thick cotton) with 18 30/500 co-cos about 45 mins ago and feel it much more even though it's the second today. Solution was of approximately the same clarity both times (the latter filtered much quicker though).

Questions: is the filtering intended primarily to catch (fine) paracetamol particles and keep them out of the solution or just to catch the gunk? It seems to me that if the water is sufficiently cold then it is mainly to keep the gunk out. Are any of the filtering methods good enough to catch any paracetamol that is (for whatever reason) in solution? And secondly, what temperature is cold enough to stop any (or at least the vast majority) of paracetamol from getting into solution in the first place? If the water is cold enough is it simply a matter of making sure the gunk doesn't get through the filter?

Q & A - I've always filtered using tap-cold water and had no liver problems. It aptly stops a good, and safe, amount of Para getting through and obviously stops any fillers and binders.
I'm still using good ol' double layer of Coffee Filters and I don't get why so many people have such trouble with filtration time :?
It doesn't take that long at all for me. Obviously the finer the "weave" of material the slower it will filter but I've never had any of this "half an hour" bizniz.
Guess I just like to be safe(ish) :)

My "cold" tap water is rarely even remotely cold. Lukewarm to just plain warm usually so don't trust it at all straight from the tap. Think it's to do with me boiler set-up - it's both bizarre and shite apparently (so the Mr Fixit man sez anyway). I always use water that's either been left overnight in the fridge or (ideally) in the freezerflap long enough to be almost but not quite frozen. Fridge temperature water seems to be just about good enough but does seem to produce a somewhat cloudier solution than near-freezing water for me. I presume we all have different fridges and some work better than others and it will also depend on what setting you use hence being interested to discover the actual temperature required rather than just the usual tap or fridge recommendation - far too variable to be safe to use as a guide to all it would seem. To me at least. Perhaps...

On the time thang, tissue takes longest for me (30+ mins) and T-shirts the least (around 5 mins) with kitchen roll coming in at around 10-15 mins. Obviously that will all depend on the specific material, brand and so on and also the amount of water used, I presume. Probably other stuff too but that would be more technique (as mentioned above with the "pouring off the water first, leave sludge till last" kinda comments for example).

Tried this yesterday with 7 30/500 Solpadol. Didn't feel anything really. Took 2 pills before before and could feel them rather quickly.

Can you do CWE on Solpadol or did I do something wrong down the line?

Crushed 7 pills down into a powder.
Mixed with small amount of water taken out of the freezer.
Stirred for 5 minutes.
Put through 2 coffee filter papers.
Mixed with orange dilute and drank.

Isn't solpadol the effervescent stuff?

If so it's not suitable for doing a CWE. The effervescent tablets are designed so that the paracetamol dissolves.

Shambles - on the water temperature thing I always aimed for as near freezing as I could possibly get it without ice appearing. Maybe over-cautious, I dunno.

There must be some data on solubility at different temperatures out there somewhere...

No it's just the standard ones that you swallow; a shit load of paracetamol (and I guess codeine) was caught in the filters.

It tasted absolutely VILE, so I threw in dilute juice without water and downed it before I threw up.

The capsules then? You should be alright if it's not the effervescent Solpadol. :)

It should be mostly paracetamol and binders in your filters with any luck.

Caplets. Codeine phosphate hemihydrate - I don't know if that makes any difference, but I did feel zero effects from performing CWE on seven of them, but could when I took two normally.

Read his older post - it's Solpadol. A co-codamol type branded preparation, available as effervescent tablets or non-effervescents. In this case the latter, so CWE is recommended.

It really helps to get things in context if you go back a few posts, y'know? ;)

Hi all. I find I it amazing that so many of you find the taste of codeine so disgusting. I thoroughly embrace the bitte

Ooops, goofed off there. Oh well, even though it's now 2 months later I may as well finish what I started..

I thoroughly embrace the bitter taste!!

(wasn't bloody worth editing really was it?)
