Drugs in the workplace (Merged)

IT people, what's your DOC for the workplace - retail or otherwise?

When I was studying my cert 4 in general IT I would enjoy sitting there high on Dextroamphetamine. It helped me focus and get right into study.

Ended up walking out on it though, but if i happened to make a career out of it, Id probably stay on the dexies.

I used to do a hit of heroin before my 12hr shift then pop home at lunchtime for another hit of the gear.
This really helped me at the time deal with my brain dead factory job, I could just operate on auto pilot until it was time to clock off at the end of the shift.
Now I get through the day by using methadone which still helps to keep me numb.

I know about the restaurant industry being a party scene. But, never knew about the pizza place habbits. Most of the pizza places by me, older Itilian people work in. Never thought they were the type.

I'm in retail, my manager looks at me almost every day after he saw me gettin to work to PM shift I WAS OF MY ARSE. so can't do it anymore !!

Food service industry in general is basically 100% drug users.

In fact, in some places, the drug trade is intertwined withing the food service industry, I'm yet to meet a pizza delivery boy that wasn't high. Or that didn't accept bong rips as tips.

I had a high tolerance to heroin so could have a hit and still appear normal apart from having pinned eyes which luckily no one ever commented on. I think the only suspicion I ever aroused was when I would still be wearing my work jacket in the hot summer to cover the track marks on my arms while everyone else was in short sleeves.
As for not being able to go to the toilet there are products such as stool softeners which can help and having a high fibre diet with plenty of fruit and water can help.

I dont do drugs at work personally. Currently I'm on a internship in a PR-Agency and like 3 days ago my boss came to talk to me and he has this "artist beard". So after about 2 seconds I notice this huge amount of white crumbles under his left nostril, checked his jaw (he was mildly grinding) and had to smile at myself.
Every clichee about PR Agencies are true. People are underpaid, they work weekends and the bosses get all the money and coke.

Yes I can remember when I first started taking gear I would always get that damn itchy nose,so bloody annoying wouldn't stop for ages, lol.
As for problem with going to the toilet if it is bothering you then perhaps you should try talking to yr chemist or Doctor. I usually only go once about every 3 days but kinda just learnt to accept it now but will go to see a Doctor if it ever starts causing me grief.
I think there is a thread on here if you search for it all with advice on how to solve constipation problems.

When I ran my fathers business, some of the younger workers we had would come in high on weed, even a 51 year old lady would get high on weed before work. We never have drug tests. Its not like the work they were doing is hazardous. I once had a young lady that came in with track marks on her left arm but I didnt notice them because I didnt know much about heroin back then.

Her bf came in to see her one day & flipped out on her. I was just standing there taking it all in. Then I looked closely at her arms & said, so this is what a heroin addicts arm looks like? She was so out going & a friendly worker to have but caught her stealing one day & had to let her go.

I never minded if my workers came in high, as long as they could do their jobs.

I grew up in the restaurant business & my father owned several restaurants & 2 bars over the years. The one I was managing was a restaurant & she stole $300 out of the change box but I got her in time. Felt bad to fire her because she was one of the best waitresses ive ever had believe it or not.

She was definitely a people person & everyone liked her but the monkey on her back wouldnt let her be the person she could have been. As far as having my workers coming in high, as long as you're not fumbling around & acting inappropriate & taking care of the customers, its all good.

I remember when I was younger, about 18 & was working really high on good weed, I had an old lady that was a customer walk up to me after I cooked her meal & she ate it ask me if I was on drugs because my eye lids were half closed. I told her I hadnt slept well & was really tired & she believed me. Glad she did because she would always talk to my parents & stuff.

Like I said before, anything goes in the restaurant business but if you're gonna do drugs, make sure you can handle working on them or dont do them. Weed is probably the biggest drug abused amongst restaurant workers.

haha i used to work in different reataurnats when i was younger as a student, mcd was one of them ... i used to come to work so baked i could barely stand on my feet, the thing is im a people person too and people make me happy an i could talk to them all day so i used to really good shifs an have so much fun an noone would know im off my alse, except this one time when i came in after doin h an charlie all night long and puked all over the toilet cubical but then they make me clean it yuuuuck !!!

while i was an apprentice,my boss was a h junkie of 20+ years,we would start at 6am and he wouldnt do a thing until smoko at 9:30,where he would pay me 20 dollars t drive him to get on..,he'd bang up in the backseat,now and then throw up and then work like a fucken demon all day..
Winter we'd all be wearing hoodies and beanies,and hed b in singlet and shorts off tap, pissing out sweat.

i worked in a second hand store a couple of years ago, me and another guy used to smoke weed/hash in the bathroom. it was a real fun job, we sat in a room and fixed all kind of stuffs like stereos, lamps, chairs, tables and so on.

I have few buddies who are 68W's, morphine and ketamine is everywhere around them. Other than that drugs in the Army are taken seriously, 6 months brig time for smoking weed if that says anything.

Morphine is tolerated & weed isnt, am I reading this correctly?
