Fixed at work today - first time ever!
Ok so I went through with it.
This morning I preloaded a fresh rig with a 4mg shot of dilaudid, put the cap back on, slipped it back into the plastic baggie the syringe comes in and then put that in my metal lunch box (as luck would have it, I actually take a lunch box to work every day to carry stuff in).
So I have no prob "hiding" stuff.
When 3pm rolled around and I could start to feel WD kick in, since at the moment I have an office to myself I just opened up the box and slipped the rig in my pocket.
Went to the (single person) bathroom, where i had plenty of privacy and did my shot. It was all totally drama free and that tiny shot really helped take the edge off.
So basically I don't see a downside. Remember, I'm not getting high at work, I'm just keeping the wd away so I can actually do my job during the long afternoon (we work until 7pm). There is no nodding or acting loopy, just being normal. In fact I was worried what would happen if I DIDN'T start to fix - by 7pm I find it difficult to function and I rush the hell out of there, which isn't good, since sometimes its helpful to work a little late, plus in feel conspicuous always being the first person to leave work.
At least if I do the shot mid day, I won't feel like I have to rush home and fix, so this habbit might actually HELP my job!
To whomever asked, yes, it's a high paying office job, but either I just quit the drugs or I start taking a shot after lunch. Yes, if I get caught I'd be fucked, but the only way that would happen is if someone decided to open my lunch box and rifle through it, which I just don't see happening.
I'm actually glad I put this behind me. After going through with it today and seeing how it was no big deal and actually helped my performance, I see i should have gotten off my high horse months ago!
If someones actually getting high at work, that's one thing - but if you're in my position and the drugs basically make you normal again, fuck, everyone should just do it!
