Drugs in the workplace (Merged)

I don't think it's possible to work retail sober, customer service is usually related to stimulants

Yeah because you have to put up with assholes all day long. It would grate my nerves being straight and couldn't wait until lunchtime to get stoned. But the provigil was a shite prescription, I would still fall asleep on it.

Large factory companies, lol, fkn full of drugs/alc. I was once one of the many bosses at a "food production line factory" (under the influence every day myself of course). But anyone there who "appeared different" were the sober people.

I worked at a movie theater for nearly three years and got introduced to nearly every drug under the sun during that time. Once I became a projectionist me and the other booth guys would always go into the stairwells on either side of the theater and smoke weed. At one point we were doing ketamine a few times a week, and precription meds like soma, xanax and vics were always around.

I miss that place. :(

Pretty much every job I've up to now I've been high on either weed, alcohol, or some combo of opiates. After awhile, it was just opiates mainly IV OC or H. By that time I was working as a webmaster, so I could pretty much do my thing and no one bothered me. Except when my super tarded boss needed something stupid done on the site.

13 years ago, when I was in between jobs, I took a job at a factory on 3rd shift. I hated the robotic way they make you work in those factories but the people were really cool on 3rd shift. At lunch time, like 6 or 7 of us would go half a block down to our supervisors house to smoke weed, LoL! The guy was super cool & as long as we had drugs to share, it was all good.

He even gave each one of us one sugar cube of lsd for xmas. I ended up working there for 2 years because the people I worked with were so much fun to work with. Never thought I would work at a factory that long but when you're having fun & getting high with the boss, how can you leave. Eventually it was time to move on to a better job.

Food service industry in general is basically 100% drug users.

In fact, in some places, the drug trade is intertwined withing the food service industry, I'm yet to meet a pizza delivery boy that wasn't high. Or that didn't accept bong rips as tips.

My current place of employment is rife with drug users. Pretty much everyone I know does one thing, or another, or a multitude of various substances. Opiates, especially Lortabs, have caught on & their use seems to be spreading like wildfire. Benzos, as well. And, people I would never even suspect of doing so, smoke weed. To top it off, I am one of opnly a handful of people there who rarely drinks. It pisses me off when I am stuck working with a bunch of people who all come in hung-over, & I have to pick up everyone's slack. I
Last week, I was legitimately ill with the beginnings of the flu, & was just trying to hang in there & get through my day. yet, a certain young woman had deliberately gone out drinking till five that morning, knowing she had to work that day, & was angling to leave early. When I worked in management, I would have laughed at that. I have played through some serious pain before, including hang-overs &, by far the worst, opiate w/d. I never expected any sympathy or special accomodations for self-inflicted misery, & none would ever be forthcoming from me. (A one-off hangover on the part of someone who doesn't make a habit of it might be a possible exception.)

My brother tells me that one guy he worked with in construction impaled his foot on a bit of rebar, limped off, smoked a joint, and came right back.

He went to the hospital later, but damn, talk about pain management!

Half of everybody that worked that job failed the piss test two weeks later.

Its all about night shifts at any job that ive been at. Thats were i usually find all the druggies and ppl to smoke weed with on break haha.
