what are the chances of mold on poppys? ive only first tried them today (started with 3 pods, brewing 2 more now), only thing is im allergic to penniclin and i guess that means mold too, there is alot of strange grey/dark marks on the outside but seems everyone seems to get that.

Most people don't worry about the typical dark dots on the outside of pods. Personally I will throw out any pods that:
1. Are obviously moldy on the outside or severely discolored on the outside.
2. Have any type of black or white stringy/hairy stuff on the inside.
3. Have what look like and are refered to as "coffee grinds" on the inside.
4. Have a strong + foul odor.

there's a bunch of info on moldy pods in other threads if you look around for a bit. including some pics.

do pods have a shelf life being left out, should they last a long time?

Also what antihistamines is everyone using?

Depends on what you consider "long time". The way morphine is "preserved" in poppies is not actually good at all.
It exists in a form that is more readily to destruct than the morphine you'd get in pills with preservatives.

I can tell you I've used pods I found in my trunk months later, with no effect at all when the same batch got me high as a kite when they were fresh.
I can also tell you during the shortage sellers were selling "old" pods, and those old pods sent a TON of people into wds.

So don't be too confident about storing them for too long.

avoid leaving pods out in room temp, store in cool dry space.
store pods in a large quart/gallon size ziplock bags, shelf life
should be a good long time, they're already dried out

benedryl or topcare (generic brands of liquid antihistamine cheaper)

hey i'm having a hard time finding a vendor for pods, and i'm trying to get these to ease my withdraw from roxys.

is it the same to buy seeds online instead of pods? like, if pods are so hard to find online, why do people not just get seeds?

will getting seeds be worth the money since i cant find pods?

dont have a ziplock bag that will hold a kilo, unfortuatly mine are out at room temp in the bag they came in, but they will be consumed within a month so they should be fine.

hey guys ive got about 15 pods worth of mush that was used yesterday still in one container, is it ok to reuse it? will it get about half of what came out yesterday at least? i just cant be bothered to crush up more pods for now.

If it was refrigerated, it's probably okay. Pods grow mold and funky bacteria as fast as a freshly-squeezed juice at room temperature.

If you didn't refrigerate, throw another wash on it, boil for a few seconds then strain and chug. I recommend always doing a 2nd wash. My experience (3 years daily+) is that the 2nd wash is usually a bit darker and stronger. If you think about it, a lot of morphine is lying hidden away within those hard walls, so a longer soak and a subsequent wash will free those good particles.

If you boil briefly, you may be okay vis-a-vis bacteria. But I'm not swearing by it, so use at your own risk and use your own judgment. Pod grounds get funky fast. Do you see a very faint blue-ish/grey tinge on the top of your grounds ("mash")? If you do, it's probably too late and your should chuck that batch. It's gone bad.

I live in a climate that's pretty chilly all year round, so all food takes longer to ferment at room temperature, but if you live where it's hot during the summer, un-refrigerated mash would have gone bad by now. Hopefully, you refrigerated it.

ffs i already started making it, it hasnt even been 24 hours surely it should be ok? atm its not exactly hot, maybe 10-15c

well i added fairly hot water to it and have been letting it brew for an hour, hopefully the hot water should of killed the bacteria if any was there, ill only drink a small bit and see how it is.

only ended up drinking half as i didnt want to take any chances.

Tonight i brewed a fairly strong tea, using 8 pods at first rather than my usual 5-6, then topped up a few hours later with a tea that used 5 pods, rather than the usual sedating high ive been getting, this one had a kind of stimmish edge to it, not unlike oxycodone. Anyone else ever get this?

thanks

just took a gander.....so things DOUBLED in price again

Not a cost effective route anymore.......

Glad his buddy quit when he did

My friend tells me he can get mashed for 8 euros. Thats not bad at all. Street opioids are much more expensive.

10ml water used for pod tea?

When making pod tea, are supposed to use just enough water so each area is wet because i assumed you had to soak the grounds i.e. water goes above grounds but this creates too much water. I have read people using as much just to plug which would mean the smallest amount of water, how could you extract opium properly with such little water?

There are so many recipes for poppy pod tea it's not even funny, on this board alone. Look around.

im pretty sure you need ALOT more than that, im pretty sure hardly any morphine would even extract out the pods into that, i noticed when i use 500ml its alot stronger than when i used less.

I always use a mug of water full, like a little more than coffee would typically fill a glass, and use that amount for my tea. It works well; I use two washes and get pretty much two "cups of coffee".

When choosing how much water to use, definitely err on the side of too much rather than too little. The only thing that will happen if you use too much is that the tea is more watery. If you don't use enough water -- you don't get out as many alkaloids as you would have if you used a proper amount...
