Favorite Movie Soundtracks & Scores?

Forgot about the queen of the damned soundtrack, it was awesome unlike the movie. And I thought of another old one, the soundtrack for "judgement night". Don't know if it still holds up but is the first time I remember seeing artists of different genres mashed together

I listened to this soundtrack until it did nothing but skip.
 
I find sometimes soundtracks only work well within the film, and not as a collection of songs flung on to an album. Anyway, here are some of my personal favourites for varying reasons.

Tank Girl is all about the soundtrack (which was compiled by Courtney Love), cuz lets face it, it's a bit of a crap film. I still enjoy watching it for old times sake though. And quite possibly cuz the soundtrack ties each scene together pretty well. :)

I love many of the songs in Ghost World, but particularly like the original score composed for it by Daivd Kitay:

And All Over Me got me into a lot of bands I only dreamed of existing at the time. One of the songs which I continue to have much love for even 12 years after seeing it (Christ! 8o) is Hole In The Ground by Helium. Mary Timony (from Helium) is now one of my favourite female solo artists because of it. And of course it features this awesome song by The Amps.

Like Tank Girl SubUrbia hasn't really stood the test of time, and is also another film which is mainly held together by it's soundtrack. Gotta love the version of Sunday by Sonic Youth on there. There's also a Butthole Surfers track in it. :)

Nowhere is another favourite cuz of the Sonic Youth, Hole, Chemical Brothers, and Elastica tracks.

And I hate it when they put different versions of songs in the film to the soundtrack album. That's always been a pet hate of mine. :X

I wish I could love Hedwig but alas I found it difficult to watch. It was one of the films in the syllabus for my class: Gender & Film.

As an aside I miss being a Women's & Gender Studies student. :(
 
Natural Born Killers, The Crow, The Fountain, Trainspotting, Fight Club, Gattaca (Micheal Nyman)

Although The Fountain is the only one I haven't listened to alone (just with the movie) - but I should really find it.

Also: Vanilla Sky because I'm pretty sure it's how I was introduced to Sigur Ros.

clint mansell and hans zimmer are the best at making sound tracks. ill go so far as to see a movie theyve done that doesnt look that good just because they did the tracks. clint mansell did requiem which im sure you all have seen as well as moon which is incredible. hans zimmer does all the batman stuff as well as the new one for inception. you should really look through them if you havent heard em before.
