Official Tramadol Discussion Thread - Second Swallow

That is WAY WAY WAY too much!
If you don't have a tolerance you are asking to be very very ill.
You need maybe 100 - 200mg tops the first time.
And it is wise to try to stay under 400mg.
Over and you run the risk of a seizure.

Ignore that post, I'm unsure of what the tablets actually are, surely they cannot be 500mg. I will have a look on the packet tomorrow.

That is what I was thinking. They don't make the 500mg and 50mg is standard.
I say take 2.

What's a recreational dose of Tramadol?

For some, non-opioid tolerant, small or sensitive people 100-150mg is recreational already. Most people seem to dose in the 200-300mg range. For me, 300mg is the absolute minimum recreational dose, and have gone as high as 1200mg I think - but that was very stupid, and had muscle spasms and brain zaps hitting me like crazy. Not a good idea. Nowadays I usually dose 300-800mg but if I go over the limit of 400mg I'll take benzos to lessen the risk of seizure.

Also, eat them at small intervals - tramadol's bioavailability grows with repeated doses, and the metabolites are far, far stronger opioids than tramadol, so it's a prodrug in that sense. Take them at, say, 1-1.5 hour intervals, and you'll have a nice, smooth high that lasts all day practically. Start with 100-150mg or whatever feels comfortable and go in increments of 50-100mg until you feel suitably nice.

And as said, exceeding 400mg is risky business, and most people around here seem to consider that "too much" already in the way of side effects.

Also, I am fairly sure 500mg tramadol pills do not exist. I think I've seen 300mg extended release pills, but no larger.

Has anyone ever experienced withdrawal from using these a bit too often? Mildly? I checked past purchases of tramadol and bought like 90, then didn't buy another 90 for about 2 and a half months. Then another 90, one month after that. Then another 90, 2 weeks after that (which should arrive tomorrow. Oddly the place of purchase claims that "we will not accept too frequent repeat orders, if noticed by the doctor or pharmacist you must wait until an appropriate time frame has been met" - a load of crap to cover themselves? but I digress). Does this look like very gradual developing addiction?

Because for example, I had been using them a bit too regularly during exam time because I absoloutely could not focus on revision without a couple. I didn't feel depressed or have diarrhoea or anything but just had a very foggy brain. So anyway after exam time I ran out and stopped. But I was sooooo tired and had no motivation to do anything. Which was fine because I didn't really need to do anything, but you to start to feel pretty skanky not bothering to get dressed all day, especially during summer. Also I noticed a bit of an irritated nose and lots of sneezing as well as feeling really down and bored.
Today is my fourth day without them however, and all of those feelings have gone. But now I have another 90 coming tomorrow. Am I stupid for this? Is 5 days not a long enough break to ensure you don't get addicted? I don't intend to take these ones every day and once they're gone that's it. I am not getting more and I'll be home for the summer which will make obtaining them too difficult anyway under the watchful eyes of the 'rents. So I should get at least 3 months off for definite.
What do you think?
Sorry for babbling on as if I my story is wonderfully important and that you all need the excessive detail obtained herein :\

They are well-known for producing addiction and a pretty vicious withdrawal with heavy use. As both SNRIs and opiates are highly addictive with brutal w/d that's no surprise though. I certainly notice it myself for a few days when I run out.

You also mentioned an irritated nose - are you snorting them? If so I'd advise you switch to oral dosing as it is way more effective and will save your nose from a serious shredding - there is a reason why almost everyone who uses tram eats them.

Ive had two 50mg, and an hour after consuming them, I fell asleep.

Woke up extremely nauseous, felt like SHIT. Thats what I thought a withdrawal would feel like. It was horrible, I threw up about three time.

But now that ive read a bit, Im supposed to wait three hours after consuming? I didnt know that. Oh well

but my question is why did I feel like I was gonna die when I woke up?

Sounds like you either took it on an empty stomach or just took too much. I know 100mg seems like nothing but everyone is different and your body chemistry or even other medications you are taking may be factoring into it. Tramadol is certainly not for everyone.

So I was expecting them to arrive today, and was surprised and worried about just how excited I was. I was pacing around at about 11am and kept looking out the window to see if I could see the post man. Turns out he just walked right past! Guess they'll come tomorrow, which will be my 6th day without them.
One question I have, I have been feeling kind of nauseas since I have stopped them. Is this normal? It is a very mild "something is amiss" type. Similar to how you feel if you had a few drinks too close to bedtime. Even complete with a very mild headache, excessive hunger and feeling cold more than usual. So almost identical to an alcohol hangover for me.
I've ensured I've gotten out of the house for a walk in the sun for an hour or two and been eating properly, I'm just soooooo bored! I'm not going home for over another week so am really using them to kill the time and plan to abstain all over summer for at least 3 months. Is that OK? Or do you think I'm being irresponsible?

i have had a script for trammys for about 1 year now and i was taking it daily for about 3 months..then i ran out of it and couldnt get anymore for about 2 months. I didnt experience any withdrawal symptoms and i was perfectly ok not having any.

how long does someone have to be taking tramadol daily before it will cause the horrible withdrawal if stopped abruptly?

What you are experiencing is withdrawal from tramadol. Perhaps you should take a few weeks off. By your descriptions it sounds as though you are physically dependent. Telling yourself that you are only using them for one more week then you will stop is called "rationalizing", it is when you tell yourself and others that you are doing something for a specific reason so that you believe you are not addicted.

Just based on what little information you have told us I would be willing to bet this will not be the last time you order them and that you will purchase them while staying with your parents. It is highly likely that you will rationalize a "single" order while living at home for the summer and will find a way to use them at least one more time while on summer vacation.

It sounds to me that you are already addicted. However, it is a mild addiction. Unless you want it to become greater I would abstain from this drug for several weeks before taking what you have ordered; though at this point I do not think that you will be capable and will tell yourself you have control over it when in fact you do not.

I do not mean offense, nor am I trying to judge you. I have been there and know what an alluring bitch tramadol can be.

it is different for everyone. Some people never experience withdrawals. For me it was about 1-2 months of regular usage.

^ahaha something I know too well.
But I'm laying off. The bf gets upset and I always end up throwing up so it just become impossible to hide...
I'm better off in the end for sure anyway.

Moral Decay, I had an earlier post with a bit more info, but it got pushed off the top page and then no one responded :(.

Do you really think physically dependent? Like I say, I went without them for 6 days and was relatively OK after the 4th day or so.
You are right about this order though, I know for a fact I will not not take them when I know I have them. I will certainly make a point of not ordering anymore after this though, whether or not such a bold statement means much, I'll let you know. I really can't see myself doing it though. My step mother is very smothering and may notice. I'm hoping the change in scenery and environment will help me abstain. Not to mention my friends are back home and all I currently have to fill the time here is television.
Anyway like I say I'll let you know whether you were right or not!

I have discovered that the best way to get high off Tramadol is taking about 25mg every 15 min or 50mg every 30 min. This is, of course, if you're looking for an "opioid" high. The acute SNRI properties appear to overpower the opioid effects in large, single doses as the opioid effects are mainly mediated by tramadol's metabolite.

The only problem with the "quasi-extended release" method described above is that it takes about 2.5 hours to get anywhere and the noddy-effects only come about 5 hours later (for me). The extended method has resulted in constipation, pronounced urinary retention (though nothing that cannot be fixed with concentration and fortitude while on the can), itchiness, laziness, dreamy thoughts, and high-caliber euphoria that is largely absent in acute-dosage strategies.

Generally, I use anywhere from 200mg-550mg total in these 15/30 minute intervals over several hours.

There is a notable afterglow the following day characterized by warmth, empathy, and a sense of divine patience.

Granted, these are my experiences so your "mileage may vary" so-to-speak.

Happy highs for one and all.

edit: of relevance,

-- I'm not addicted to opioids
-- I have a mid-low tolerance to opioids
-- I space out my opioid usage i.e. I don't use them on consecutive days

So this may account for some of the difference if anyone decides to use the extended-dosing method.

Fair warning though, you may find yourself embodying all but warmth and patience coming off the stuff though. Something about coming down makes me a very angry and irritated individual.

500 mg & beyond...

I hear you moredopamine, I dosed this this way last night getting up to 550 mg in 10 hours with a valium for good measure. This is the largest dose i have taken of tramadol.

However, do you find above 500 mg the positive 'afterglow' effects become more like a burnt out mdma hangover type feeling? Definitely feel like i took some coke or ecstacy last night.

I smoked a cone of some okay clean marijuana & acheived a near nod experience by 7am- i haven't had the chance to use tramadol since january- & wound up in a very deep sleep even though they were anouncing the Ladys International Tennis over a megaphone not 80 yards from my bedrooom window.

Conclusion:
So i kinda wished i had dosed around 400 mg yesterday as i now feel too burnt out to take a 100/200 mg dosage today. (which would be about 750mg in 36 hours)
