(NATIONAL) Metallica: World Magnetic Tour 2010 - October & November 2010

^^ haha you are dedicated; an expensive couple of days! =D

Might be no where near the price some people pay for 1-2 nights of 'a few hours' of electronic music. I.e coking it up and what not.. That's *if* no chems are used on these said nights %)

If only Lars was under that bus in rural Sweden all those years ago... I reckon they would be a better band now. Discuss?

Oi!! No wishing death upon anyone, I don't care how much of a douche they are :D ;)

I had just lined up for an hour and a half to discover all tickets for the Melbourne show were sold out. Got my mate to get a couple for Adelaide online.
The stupid thing out of all of this is why have pre sale tickets for such a big act?
Also taking into account Rod Laver can only hold (seated) approx. 15,000.
I feel burned. Stupid organizers.
I just hope Metallica concentrate on their good stuff during the concert.

will rave, that sucks mate!! But hey, they will definitely announce a 2nd show so keep your eyes peeled for that k? Also, if you can, get the tickets online at ticketek.com.au, cos that way you'll have a better chance of getting good tickets.

Metallica's Death Magnetic Oz tour sells out completely in less than an hour :

Metallica remains one of the biggest drawcards in the world. As if they needed any more proof, the band's Australian tour sold out in around an hour this morning.

Earlier this week the band added a final few dates to their Australian tour in October/November, where they will perform around the nation, "in the round, in the centre of the arena, on a custom built stage and with their full world tour production." As we've seen in these recent Russaian pics of the current tour.

Tickets went on sale at 9am this morning. Organisers released a statement just after 10am today, claiming that eleven shows had completely sold out. (Tickets for Perth have only just gone on sale and are most likely selling out as we speak.)

UPDATE: Perth is now sold out.

That is what i love to see! If i had more money i would go to all the Brisbane shows but im happy i got a ticket for GA for the 2nd Brisbane show!

Heh, yesterday was MADNESS in our house.. 3 different computers (2 on adsl2+ and one using 3G mobile in case the home adsl2+ dropped which it does at times).. Saturdays show sold out in less than 1-2 minutes of us trying ANY ticket, standing sold out less than 20 seconds.. 9am log on happened, we logged in, both tried GA tickets, got to choose 4, click "continue" and "the tickets you want are sold out".. all in < 20 seconds.

Managed to get 7 tickets, mix of gold + silver by Emma and I quickly moving to Sun (and maybe thur?) and doing 'any ticket' option. And I find out 1/2 hr later, a friend who is "high up" somewhere scores me 4 GA standing for Sat night. I MAY have been able to get 20 if I wanted?!??!?!?!?!?!??! So I get told AFTER the sell out thing. Oh well, I got my 4 GA for 3 mates and myself

AND

13 May 2010 DEBIT CARD PURCHASE TICKETEK SYDNEY AUS 600.00
13 May 2010 DEBIT CARD PURCHASE TICKETEK SYDNEY AUS 535.60

And Emma has 4 tickets debited as well, ~$550.. HA HA, 11 tickets, almost $2K we spent y/day, the GA $200 ones were AFTER the 1/2 hour madness of us trying to get tickets but yeah, saturday was sold out on "any ticket" within a couple minutes of 9am for sure, we both tried GA then moved to any ticket with both met to "sold out" (and you can't get the tickets til September!! LAME)

I guess the 7 tickets we got as a second either will be used by myself + mates OR some used and rest sold off on net or whatever. Hopefully I can make the $2K back we spent then, and classify seeing metallica for free, that way I can't complain if they don't live up to their 80s performance monsters that they were when I saw them play in the 80s last time %)=D

For one, it would have been Kirk. Kirk + Cliff drew cards and Cliff got the Ace Of Spades and asked Kirk for his bunk. So Kirk + Cliff swapped... Sucks totally about Cliff dying :! Definitely if there was choosing, Lars would be the highest number picked for sure. His Napster debacle and other comments/attitude earns him the most hated spot for sure ;) Tho, without Kirk which they basically stood over for the whole time in relation to songs/albums, they would not have been any different but for sure, Cliff was the strongest willed and most influencing in the band. They would not be the 'megastars' they are now but definitely be probably most 'respected' in the metal scene, they'd take Slayers spot for longest band sticking to roots :)

While I didn't attempt to buy tickets, I know a lot of people who have complained about all the presales. Is it really needed to have the fan club presale, visa presale, online presale, Humanitarian Aid for Rwanda presale, Frank Walker from National Tiles presale AND a None More Black presale?

Ok, so I made a few of those up, but my point still stands. I wasn't sure there'd be any tickets left for the general public.

^^ Yep I agree, it is/was completely fucking ridiculous 8)

...even though I got visa presale tix....

I think having a fan club pre sale is ok as it gets devoted fans nearly guaranteed tickets.

The other pre sales are probably a bit of a joke but hey...if you really want to see the band then get involved in the pre sales!

Can't wait to get my Metclub T shirt in the mail either. Apparently it glows in the dark, so all the clubbers will be easy to spot at the shows!

^ Hey man you cant expect me to churn 70k through a bunch of visa gold cards each year and not get anything out of it?!?! ;)

srsly it is all about the mighty $$$$... My company card chugs hundreds or thousands through each year and it got a personal invite to buy up to 8 tix a good 24 hours before I got the my visa gold card pre-sale. I wouldn't be surprised if there where only 1,000 tix left by the time these things got let loose on the public!

I guess the days when one used to have to grab a sleepy bag and lie on the street for 3 days for those killer seats are now only a part of rock folklore.

I've heard stories about people lining up, being 5th in line and still missing out. They obviously don't hold a supply of tix per outlet. Sleeping bags and buckets to pee in are so last century!

Man all my Tallica DVD's are getting a workout lately! October is sooooo long away....

wow 215 000 that's crazy, i am looking forward to my metclub package in the mail. Still debating what shirt ill wear to the concert as i have about 10 shirts haha

Man I had the exact same experience with getting Pearl Jam tickets for their tour in 2005. I lined up in the city at the main box office, because my computer wasn't working at home.

I was 2nd in line and still got tickets in like the 30th row (it was all seated ticket allocation for that tour).

It was then that I realised......the people in the Ticketek offices only have the exact same internet connection and therefore the exact same priority and queuing as anyone else sitting at home on their PCs!!!

So yes, lining up for tickets is well a thing of the past :|

Man, I'd love to go see Metallica when they come to Brisbane! Too bad it's in the entertainment centre though... riverstage would be a much better venue for them! Oh well, don't have the money either so probably have to give it a miss :(
