for some reason this vein that ive never hit before on my right arm burns like a bitch when i go in. maybe its the 28 gauge im used to 29...would 28 gauges burn when goin in?
 
i don't remember them burning when i used to get them, i use 29s now tho and wont go any bigger than that now, occasionally ill buy some 30's but for some reason i have a hard time registering with them. so its like 29s are the *perfect* size for me 28 too big , 30 too small :\ ... just go back to using 29's and see if that helps it not burn.
 
hand has been burning and itching for a couple days after injecting oxycodone ?

couple days ago i injected a few roxicodone 30 mg the first shoot in my right hand started burning and itching and getting really hot i shoot up one more time after that my whole hand continued to burn even worest the needle was a used one after that i started to taking anti histamin and it stopped burning badly but if i do not continue to take the anti histamin ( atarax 25 mg ) hydroxyz it starts burning really bad again and itching and flaming up again could anyone help and let me know if i should go to the ER also does anyone know what to say to the hospital for track marks becuase i dont want them to know if i have to go there.

if its getting progressively worse you should definitely go to the ER, the embarrassment would be worth keeping your hand. I dont think you should worry about the track marks. how you would explain that you shot up a couple pills in your hand without them knowing youre a iv user? bangin roxi's in your hand sounds like risky business
 
Quality thread. Well put together. I believe in informing the drug user instead of hiding the knowledge. Probably saved a few lives even. Props brother.
 
Quick question too, sorry for multiple posts. Used to bang dope in a vein in my arm which has since receded, and now I've got a fat one in my hand that looks promising. Any differences/downsides to shooting a vein in the hand rather than my arm? Thanks for the reply.

you're further away from the heart when injecting in the hand. The site may take a little longer to heal, it's harder to hide with long sleeves.

You also might have a hard problem using anything other than a small gauge with your hand veins. I wouldn't use anything but a 31g on my hands.

It's better to try to use another vein in your arm, but hands work if you have to. I find that using the hand works for me, when I'm using a brand new 31g tip, and could probably it 4 to 8 veins in each hand if I felt like it. However I have only used one of them thus far, and that one doesn't roll, I don't know about other veins though. They might roll more.

It's always better to use a vein furthest away from the extremities if you're only trying to do "one more shot".

If you're an every day IDU you might want to start on the hands and work your way up to the elbows, that way you avoid dislodging clots from the vein wall into the circulatory system.

Always use 31g tips (or at least fine gauge tips) for IV use in the hands, especially if they're not especially large veins.

Okay so i got a couple questions about shooting.. So ive noticed everytime i shoot up i get a small bump on the injection site, does that mean i missed? And i also used a dirty rig that i found out it was used my someone wit hep c but my friend cleaned it wit alot of bleach and water so whats the chances of me catching it? Also why do people tie off? Is there any benefit to doing so?

Not to alarm you, but I think bleach only kills the HIV virus, and not the Hepatitis C virus.

No one can really tell you the chances of you having caught it or not, just get tested at the right time.

Re-using other people's needles is a really bad idea. You should buy them over the counter, or go to a needle exchange program. If you can't do either one of those because you don't have an exchange program in your state, and the pharmacists are being bitchy to you, buy them online.

Please don't re-use other people's insulin syringes.

Depending on what you use, a small bump may mean you missed, or it might be a reaction to pulling the needle out too soon after the injection is done, or it might be a reaction to the product or the cut in the product you're shooting.

There's no benefit for tying off, unless you can't see and feel your veins. In that case the benefit is being able to see and feel your veins.

yeah i usually dont use other peoples rigs but when im desperate i tend to do so.. Thanks for the advice
 
when can i try out this vein again

hi all, my question is regaurding a vein that i attacked unforgivingly with a dull needle

it left a hard ball (abscess?) on my arm which swelled and healed over the matter of a months and a halfs time. in addition a black bruise persisted long after the abscess reduced in size (i can still feel a rather minor bump in my arm and the size of the bruise has also reduced to an almost unnoticeable size)

im wondering, as this is my favorite vein, and i by no means am a heavy user i just made a mistake of using a dull syringe before stumbling upon this site and some of its technique threads...

how much longer should i wait to try this vein out, also can i go above/below where the accident occured to try for a hit? its my most profound vein and its also the easiest to hit, and has not been touched in a months time.

edit: for those who may be curious just what my habits are in conjunction with this thread

i've tried H for the first time IV around a year and a half ago, just started using regularly about three months ago.
 
rotate, before you cant use that vein again

and i guess you could use it now, but that doesnt mean you should. id wait till its totally normal again
 
thanks for the quick response, and i've been rotating since i stumbled on the IV threads, but im curious i havent really injected very much into the vein

because of my imperfect technique have i caused an otherwise good vein to prematurely deteriorate [the way heavy users veins do?] or is there a good chance i'll be getting this vein back?
 
i cant say for sure, but damaging it is damaging it. people are made pretty tough but enough damage to a vein and it will clot itself, and recede.
just try not to use it for a month at least and should be somewhat back to normal.

It will move out of the way of the needle tip instead of being punctured by it.

A vein rolls when you should have gotten it in but instead it just slides sideways out of the way.

Some people's veins roll more than other peoples.

It would be easier to show you IRL what that means than tell you online, but I hope this explanation helps. :)
