Cocodamol - The drug of the credit crunch? plus other codeine/dihydrocodeine queries

the acidic juice would probably aid dissolving the time release and grapefruit juice potentiates some drugs as well link tribal it's debatable as to whether it works for codeine or actually makes it weaker

nolys the codeine is seperated from the paracetamol with a cold water extraction
 
lol like 30/500? them kepake were nice... 8 of those helped me through a nice school day...
i might break my sternum more often...

and cwe? sorry i havnt a clue about this stuff lol... im trying to educate myself though :D:D
 
nope not 30/500, 30mg codeine no paracetamol.
dihydrocodeine tabs come in strengths of up to 120mg as well.
 
if anything you're more likely to get decent meds after 15-20 years of hard drug use
 
Must be the charge-less Welsh NHS... Around the north of England, you're lucky to get any CDs even without a drug record... I was refused Concerta for my adult ADD/ suspected conduct disorder after my psychiatrist found out I'd been admitted to hospital on a cocaine-related issue.

Also benzos is a tough ask here, said grandma got temazzies after her husband of 50 years died (being over 70 and nearly collapsing due to stress on a trip out we had in '06 helped). But nearly all the blue-scripters I know are strictly methadone mixture only- not even 2mg of diazepam. One was offered only amitryptiline or zopiclone for severe insomnia despite being on brown, rock and 60mg green juice a day plus most any other drug that came around her.

I was too. And benzos. And various other things and whilst on more 'done than that. Was in England too (Oxfordshire area) but Wales is quite accommodating too... I find it mostly depends more on the doctor, the individual and blind luck than area - bit of a postcode lottery style o' thing afoot though, for sure.

Cheers. I might pass that along to my flatmate, he has some chronic joint problems and can't walk without painkillers and a stick. His doctor wont prescribe him anything for the pain and is extremely critical of his using cocodamol because of the amount of APAP he's consuming. The most he'll do is refer him to a specialist, for which he's been on the waiting list for almost two years. I've let him know about CWE but he'll only use it on days when he still can't walk after eight 8/500's as he's suspicious of anything stronger that a bit of weed, something that'll potentiate the small amount of codeine he's actually getting out of those 8/500s would be good.
 
64mg of codeine is almost not even worth taking, and I mean for pain. His doctor sounds like a right twat.
 
Aye how much IS worth taking for pain? Got some co-cos for my op but they never seem to do much. Had 15/500 a while back and two or three of em did fuck all for pain. Trying to get summat for arthritis pain but doc just said keep taking these and don't worry about the amount of paracetamol I'm taking.

I DO worry! Especially cos of how much I drink.
 
I'd say the painkilling effects of codeine become noticeable at around 60mg, myself. Shame that involves fuckloads of paracetamol unless you get 30/500 co-co's or straight codeine pills. I got a script for straight codeine pills cos I complained about the amount of paracetamol I was having to take. Some docs are cunts though :\

I got a scrip for 100 30/500's a few weeks ago. Limiting myself to 2 a night (actually using them to kill pain rather than for recreational purposes).

I am presuming that taking 2 a night isn't going to cause any problems down the line if i can't get any more? When you buy the 8/500's from the chemist they always tell you not to use them for a long time, but i always presumed that was some legal bullshit that had to tell you?

EDIT: What's the consensus for how much codeine you need to get fucked, in a CWE?
 
Most people generally CWE a whole pack (or two), so ~250mg of codeine should get you nicely buzzed.

I'm happy taking 120mg of dihydrocodeine whereas others may need 500mg, probably best to work your way up to see what's right for you.
 
60mg a night of codeine isn't quite up there with a gram a day scag habit but it is somewhat habit-forming and does produce withdrawals used excessively. I wouldn't expect any real shittiness from 60mg/day when they run out - maybe a bit sniffly and shivery at worst.

I'd say recreational effects start at around 150mg but some find as little as 60mg does the trick. Others don't find it recreational at any dose. 200-300mg is probably the sweet spot for most but does vary a lot. Once you get much past 150mg things can get itchy and gets itchier the higher you dose - an OTC antihistamine knocks that on the head and makes the codeine more noddy too. Boost! :D
