What makes you think mescaline lasts days? Mescaline lasts about as long as LSD. Some people in my city (central Canada) have a misconception that mescaline is an insane trip and lasts days, but I think this misconception is due to the fact that some people are sold datura as peyote around here. A few people I know, myself included, were offered "peyote" that was actually datura seed pods about 6 years ago, maybe longer. This explains why people think mescaline is so fucking insane, because, well, datura is FUCKING insane!

2C-I is probably a good starter, but I simply was never that impressed with it.

LSD still gets my vote, al though the duration could be a problem if someone was unfamiliar and uncomfortable with the psychedelic high so I suggest having a benzo on hand.

Perhaps pure mescaline lasts as long as LSD, perhaps a bit more.

But from all my readings and discussions, there seems to be consensus that the effects of cacti (note: plant material = countless other compounds with possible synerrgy + a sort of timed-release from plant-material) can still be felt after 24 hours.

I agree with you about 2C-I. One friend really wanted me to give him a psychedelic to start with. I eventually gave him 2C-I and luckily he found it VERY useful as in intro. (note that I now never give any drugs (other than K) to people based on my decisions, and consider it unethical.)

Personally, when I tried 2C-I I found that it was very interesting and insightful the first couple of times, then it sort of lost its magic, so to speak. Many on BL seem to agree with me on this point. But that's getting off on a tangent. :)
 
This is advice from someone new to the idea of taking a psychadelic. Research chemicals are risky for a beginner because the margin of safety is low, especially if you havn't bought a scale.

Taking half a foot of San Pedro would give a nice introduction to mescaline, even if the cacti was weak. Unlikely you will throw up on that. Maybe take it with some lemon juice to counterbalance.

Another idea would be to take Atlantis or Mexicana truffles. Not as intense as shrooms from what I've heard yet still very trippy.

Neither of these are legal but you can get both pretty easily off the internet.

I'm surprised anyone hasn't mentioned hashish. A mild psychadelic and very gentle.

The first psychedelic I did was LSD

Many of my friends find shrooms harder to cope mentally compared to acid

Some think you should start on shrooms first...

The right set and setting with a standard/nothing extreme dose of LSD should be perfectly fine, just my opinion
 
I started on Shrooms (1/8th) and had a fantastic time until negative external stimuli sent my mind set in a negative direction.

When I took a nice dose of acid (2 hits) I realized that LSD was alot smoother and less emotional in thought than shrooms.

I recommend acid over shrooms, though I'm still voting for a low dose of DMT to show them how psychedelics feel. Low dose dmt (20mg) will show them what it feels like to trip quick, with out putting them in a riddiculous place. 20mg of DMT will only have a person in a strong (if you will) psychedelic place for 2 or 3 minutes then on the way down to baseline.

I'd choose ketamine if you were interested in a beginner dissociative.

Miprocin is many things, but subtle really isn't one of them. I would say its about as subtle as getting struck by lightning. :D

yeah a couple of people have said DMT, which sounds good and everything, but my worry is that im extra sensitive to it or somthing, and the trip is too intense?

Also, RC's are damn hard to come by in my area, the analouge acts in the UK are really annoying, and although you can get 2c-x's over the internet, that seems really sketchy to me, you know, with them being Class A and all.

20mg is a light dose of DMT (you get a rush and a ++ feeling), so if you are extra sensitive you wouldn't go very far nor would be gone for very long.

If you are worried start around 15 or 18mg.
 
I wouldn't ever suggest DMT to someone for the first experience! It is much more powerful and potentially unnerving than a small-medium dosage of mushrooms. Yes you could encounter a bad trip, but if you really believe that it'll happen to you, the substance wont matter, you WILL get caught in negative thoughts and anxiety.

Just eat a mushroom in a calm, safe place, around friends, and you will have a magical experience.
 
how is 15-20mg of dmt unnerving? It'll get you a + or a ++ for a very short period of time. Mush will leave you in a crazy place for at least an hour. Low dose DMT shows you what it is like to be in a psychedelic state, but in 2 or 3 minutes worth of time.
 
I don't think there's a problem going straight to DMT. Its a fabulous psychedelic, extremely anxiolytic and smooth. The short duration is another thing that would make it great for a first timer.

I'm still kinda of the opinion though, that a solid dose of LSD is the best introduction to psychedelics because its just so damn groovy. It starts off your psychedelic career with this groovy sunshine daydream vibe that will carry forward through all your subsequent tripping. Being an ergoloid, its extremely pro-cognitive and it just wipes away all the bullshit that society programs into your head and allows you to actually think about stuff in a real way for once. Not that other psychedelics don't do this as well, but LSD just seems to be really good at it.
 
I suggest MET (N-methyl-N-ethyltryptamine) for a beginner psychedelic. Es muy rico.

2c-x and DOx hardly even compare to classic psychedelics.

Take a real psychedelic such as LSD, mushrooms, peyote, morning glory seeds.

Morning Glory Seeds were my first psychedelic and it was awesome.

2c-X are bad beginniner psychedelics because they don't actually compare much to a mentally-charged/in your face with truth- LSD/mushrooms experience.

They aren't even that subjective and the effects are either too subtle or even at higher doses 2c-X aren't even that interesting. All it does is stimulate your thoughts, there's like no ego loss.

Besides, most people who takes lots of 2c-X and DOx burn their brain out cause these are research chemicals.

Classic psychedelics first, then dab in dangerous research chemicals if you REALLY want to afterwards.

Are these truffles not considered a type of shroom? What makes them not as intense?

What's the difference between Atlantic and Mexicana truffles and shrooms? Do they not all contain psylocibin?

I thought all different strains of shrooms have different ratios of alkaloids. Do Atlantic and Mexicana have different alkaloids that are not present in other strains of mushrooms?

Do they have alkaloid ratios that are far more different than "regular" strains of mushrooms?

What exactly are the differences between truffles and shrooms, both chemically and in effects?

^^^ok, just because they are coined "research chemicals" does not automatically make them dangerous. many of these chems, including and especially the 2c's, have had years of people using them successfully. i may prefer shrooms and acid, but to the op, your points as to why they would be bad beginner psychs are actually points as to why they would be good - namely that they are easier, less mentally weird, and less prone to ego loss and confusion.

From what i recall you are quite a fan of DPT.
DPT certainly isnt an easy psychedelic.

This thread is about which psychedelic is best for a begginer to take.
That doesnt mean it needs to be a light psychedelic like 2c-i or 2c-c.

I think having a somewhat powerful but not too overwhelming trip your first time, to get the idea of what psychedelics are and are capable of, is better than some eye candy psych.

Im going to stick with mushrooms (2-3g) or 2 hits of average potency blotter as being the best beginner psychs.
Its what most of us here, and most psychonauts in general start out with and usually tend to not regret it.

Id certainly not recomend any RC's to a beginner. I think those should be left to the psychedelic enthusiasts or connaseuirs.
