Personally I'd be giving it large to Geri Halliwell, girl power!

Nah in all seriousness though if I was going I'd check out Eddie Halliwell, Marco V, Van Burren, Mark Shulz, Ferry Corston, Alex Kidd, Scott Project, Lenny Dee and Bass D.

I'm a big trance loving fairy though. %)

Crackhead you seen the lineup for the EH1 festival? Carl Cox is headlining I beleive.

i reckon every one of you going to dance valley has to agree that the lineup is shite. that's not to say you won't have a great time but you surely aren't going because you looked at that lineup & thought it looked amazing

spade - aye i've seen the lineup for EH1, carl cox is headlining, playing some sort of old school techno set apparently. i've got a flyer kicking about my room somewhere. i was actually thinking about going then i remembered it was in edinburgh :)

I dunno if we thought it was shite not sure we would be going?

Maybe it's not the pinnacle of musical achievement but I'm fond of cheesy trance myself.

I had a very old Carl Cox tape back in the day from early 90s, Fantazia I think it was, and Carl Cox was banging about the hardcore techno and bouncy rave tunes. It was a fucking fantastic set.

Red Arrow thats what the crowds are like at the trance nights round here. :D

Just remembered about the baccy smoking ban last night, good to know they turn a lil blind eye/you can get that smoking mix instead :)

Festivals are great whether the lineup is shit or not, I think. I went to Download '07 and generally really don't like metal, think I saw one band I liked but I had a fucking awesome time and it was worth the price of a ticket just to spend six days with my mates getting arseholed and getting up to all sorts in a setting like that. Atmosphere was what made it.

carl cox's early nineties stuff was a pile of shite, see if you look up some videos of him at rez or something similar on youtube he plays this sort of shitty sped up breakbeat/hardcore bollocks.

edit - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ljzmaO_fcls - oh my fucking god i hate dance mc's!!! why? just fucking why? if i ever went to a club & there was some daft cunt giving it "jump to the beat jump to the beat" i would stab the fucker. they always sound like the guy at the fairground "scream if you wanna go faster"

RA - i think i know those boys haha

aye that's what i meant when i said you'll still have a great time.

aye maybe shite was a bit of a strong word lol. i just can't stand cheesy trance for more than 10 minutes at a time. it's good for a laugh & a bit of a drugged up bounce with your mates but it gets fucking irritating really quickly. plus the majority of it is so boring & simplistic

Yeah definitely simplistic, but always enjoyed drugged up bounce myself!
Not trying to argue that its a line up that's pushing the boundaries of originality, going to be fun anyways.

I think carl cox is gone to sihte these days

the stuff he plays is cheesy as fuck, its as if he is trying to cater for australians or something

i think the height of his djing skills was around late 90s

heres a video of him from love parade in 2000, its banging (unlike the tripe he spurts nowadays)
