Always preferred winter solstice as a date, as a thing...all that dark death and rebirth vibe is more my bag than the summer all-is -blooming type thing (having said that, some of those summer parties were really the best of times)

Dripping reminds me of my Dad's frying pans, which were always about an inch deep in solid animal fat after he'd been frying sausages or bacon, and he'd re-use the ever increasing fat again and again for frying.

No wonder his heart's not in great shape, although he has made it to 89 years old!

You and your lot imho are so English, why people in the USA never think about this ingrained aspect of the English is beyond me. To me what you represent is way more English than any Tally-ho, Tory, tweed jacket type.

When I introduced my ex to this part of England she was so shocked by it. As much as I Joke about & take the piss I'm more Proud of this aspect of the UK than any London, Tally-ho, Harry Potter aspect this Island is known for.

Something that tastes that good has got to be bad for you. Isn't that some kind of health rule, that the better something tastes the worse it is for your health, and vice versa?

It seems that the scientists can't make up their mind if butter is bad for you or not. In the meantime, whether I continue to have delicious butter and toast or go for another option probably isn't going to make much difference to my health and lifespan, considering all the drugs and other harmful substances I've ingested, vaped, or smoked.

I must be so damn Nasty I guess. That stuff with a cup of PG Tips is so good. You can't beat chips cooked in that stuff with a brw made in the style George Orwell wrote about in "Down and Out in Paris and London"

99% of the food served at the temple is Dal / Dahl which is so good when cooked by the old women, the main cook does it in a special family recipe which she refuses to give away.


Ghee is used mainly at the temple during special Puja events as it burns way more better than normal candle wax!!! (Puja's are special nights where chanting, singing and offerings such as Rice, Nuts, Flowers, Milk are offered to the Gods. My favourite was on February 18th of this year to Shivya where we did Ritual offerings from 8pm till 6am)

Credit where it's due to your choice of dwelling, I had my first experience of "Proper" Thai Green Curry last week, it was so good I feel in love right away with it. The heat in regards to Chilli came as a shock to say the least about it.

Because some who go to the temple are of the Brahmin cast the food given out has to be made in a very special way, I'm not quite sure if the Brahmin cast are allowed to eat it if I'm honest with you, their daily restricted life style still shocks me tbh, their life isn't that far removed from the Muslims.

Yeh, used to be a big thing in the past, but I think blister packs are favoured now because there's less risk of tampering.

But a pharmacy will give you whatever they've got in stock...

I'd talk about the weather for a few minutes then drag the call out so much if I was one of the models.

I came across one of your dog's last week, it was 12 & had grey fur on the paws. It was so friendly and was a rescue Doggo, we became friends so quickly. I expected it to be savage but was very kind to me.

Mine is very friendly too and can even jump up against and hug you because he wants you to hug him too, that is if you don't do anything wrong.

at the slightest voice raising, dominance, exicted behaviour, just looking angry etc... he will bite.
