Recruiting (Updated, now with survey option) How do you feel about algorithms analyzing your Bluelight data?

@Tronica i know you’ve commented on @Skeebs past studies. Just wondering if you and @neversickanymore have looked into this current one and could give BLs opinion?

Might help OP/BL.
Apologies for lateness - absolutely - @Skeebs has our full support. This last part of the project relates to the early parts -- it's a culmination of the work.

Obviously also happy to hear and respond to any concerns the broader Bluelight community has. The most important thing from my perspective is that we as a community need to be more aware of what is already happening with algorithms on our data (because everything we post is public so those algorithms are about and around). We need to be transperant with everyone here. Not keen to scare people unnecessarily of course, and I would hope people are aware of the power of AI and algorithms. It's not something we as a community should just ignore and hope they go away!!!

NSA using web crawlers for gens now; this may help someone at some point is all I can hope for.

@Skeebs are you going to or have any plans on seeing how an algorithm would do matching a verbal interview transcript to text accounts?

But wait I want to see my data, how do I get it?
I clicked the link and this was fully explained. If you participate and disclose your accounts you get to see a demonstration of their work in action based off your data. If you choose to remain anonymous.. like that even exists anymore.. then your given a demonstration based off an anonymous person’s results.

I just had a brilliant idea. If you wanna see if this thing works: run it on that Jabberwocky account and then cross reference the posts with currently (reincarnated) active members. How's that for a "control" test! :ROFLMAO: Proof of concept no? But the results have to be made public of course!

Actually not that dumb of a suggestion nor my simply taking the piss (although that was the initial intention I'll admit).

Think about this:

There's more than a few members who have been around for decades and under not such ideal circumstances that may have been posting under different usernames and who may have, by now, cleaned up their act somewhat and are posting with a new account. Guess my point being: to what extent would substance abuse, or even specific substances, obfuscate somebody's written communication style (Tweakers need not respond here i.e. AI not required for analysis).

That's not a bad idea actually, aside from the public part. Problem is, In Jabberwocky posts which are quoted or have a quote the original name can be seen quite often, and there's plenty of members active say 5 years or more who could volunteer regardless. An intentional change in acct might be more obfuscating an actual progression anyway wouldnt it? Hellfire!

Maybe a Jabberwocky analysis to create an AI poster vs a collection of say 100 members active would be more interesting. Let the ideas flow from there. Maybe some at each AI's suggestion.

I'd be interested to see anonymous collelations. Like, which drug users are most likely to have a league of legends account, or a devian art page, or participate in furry communities.

Which drug of choice correlates with the most followers on instagram? What about financial success? Emotional stability?

Wanna know which drugs to use and which to avoid :')

it makes me uncomfortable

I often feel the need to "wipe it all" like a scene out of Mr. Robot.... yet its too late already... my shit is "cached in".... heh....

If the feds wanted me they would have had me by now.... the only, yet not very, comforting thought. I'm not very important.

I will participate if I can find the time. My goldfish tank might need a reminder.

The complexity of the system, that is, the matching of writing style et cetera.

I haven't posted stuff here that would ruin me if it came out, so I don't care particularly care tbh.

@Negentropic - most crimes are prescribed after X years. I'm also good at self-manipulation and can convince myself of any delusions, such as the one that I haven't shared incriminating shit here. 😬
