I do get your drift and I agree but I think you're referring solely to the 'old skool' ('87-99') pills being used and compared 20 years after the fact. That is not the debate at hand. The current discussion is regarding the comparison of the two major labs' product - there is a significant and undeniable difference in effect profile.
I'm 21 and thus cannot comment regarding the 90's pills, but I can comment on the current era.
When we refer to 'Dutch' product we are talking of the group distributing it not its country of manufacture. I don't think anyone is naive enough to think the UFO's were synthed in Manchester, it is simply the Manc crew who control them and this wonderful city always gets the first taste. Gotta love this place.
The 'Dutch' product feels like half the experience is missing, no matter the dose, and particularly the empathy and euphoria.
The 'Manchester' gear hits like a euphoric steamtrain in the unique way we all love at 100-150mg.
Think of MPA and MDAI: alone they aren't worth a wank but the combination is so much better than you could imagine if just looking at them solo.
MDMA has a stimulatory isomer and a serotonergic isomer, the former is the MPA and the latter is the MDAI in this analogy.
MDAI is 'sedating', 'mongy' and 'lacking' because a massive SE flood isn't in itself euphoric. Adding a stimulant that hits DAT and NET makes it infinitely more euphoric as there is a physical push towards the activities that SE magnifies.
If the composition of the MDMA is majority homoiroisomeric it will feel incomplete even if the desired S- comformation makes up the largest portion. It will feel just better than MDAI.
(R,S-)MDMA is a triple releasing agent and its effects are not simply from hitting SERT, as many think.
