Made some salsa last night to go with tea so going to use the left overs to make a quesadilla I think. Made a victoria sponge this afternoon also, going to fill it with lemon buttercream and blackcurrent jam. Hope the birthday boy likes it...
 
I had a fatass piece of cod and loads of chips and the end of a battered sausage (oooh) from the chippy earlier and felt like I was going to explode. I'm allowed, I look like a bit of a skinny cokehead at the moment so calories = ok.
 
English muffins with avocado and smoked salmon for breakfast.


I'm actually really excited about the chicken quesedilla I plan on cooking the kids for lunch.
 
^ That sounds nice. I'm partial to a bit of smoked salmon, shame it's so expensive or I'd probably have it all the time. Ditto avocadoes. In fact, just send me your breakfast OTW. Lunch too, if you don't mind. Might be a bit manky by the time it reaches England but still, bit of mould never killed anyone. How many kids do you have if you don't mind me asking? I was under the impression that you only had one for some reason.

I expect I'll just have cereal for breakfast as I forgot to get bagels out the freezer. Doing something with sausages for dinner. Who knows what. Exciting, isn't it.

Counting down the hours till I can scoff a Spooners breakfast, out in the sun, in the company of the bulbous nose tribe. Going to get nicely pogged and maybe a wee bit sloshed, if I'm feeling rude ;)

You do like your ludicrously expensive (and presumably ludicrously tasty) bits of meat don't you, Owen? At least that's how they always look to me - definitely not what comes sat on bits of bloody sponge in plastic tubs that I get anyway.

Speaking of things in plastic tubs, on with the bloody microwave meal marathon (I've definitey gotten tubbier than even usual standards in the couple of months I've had to rely mostly on microwave stuff :\). Tonight it was some form of tubular pasta I don't recall the specific name of but doubt it's of vital relevance with tomato, basil and pork sausage (actually it's just the sausage meat not chunks like they usually are - an improvement in this case) with a cheese I also don't recall the name of but rang no bells with me and tasted good whatever it was.
 
Well if food in tubs is making you tubbier, perhaps a diet of skinny lattes will have the opposite effect. Worth a shot. :D

Is it wrong to say that pictures of meat turn me on? That does look good owen; I really need to go up to the butchers near me & see what they have on offer.

^ Did I ever tell you about one of my college chums, the jar of liver, a microwave and "somebody else's" (or so he claimed) penis? Probably don't need to add much to that but he was surprisingly enthusiastic about the effect it apparently had on his *ahem* friend who told him about it.

To be brutally honest I don't even really know what a skinny latte is other than some variant on overpriced coffee. They don't have that kinda stuff around these parts ;)

Although if I were to walk to the nearest place that did to pick it up every day I'd certainly lose weight.

Strangely I had a similar thing to you for dinner, apart from I made all mine from scratch. My own take on sausage pasta bake with a tomatoey sauce. Easy and quick but really nice.

I cook pretty much every night, couldn't cope with not being able to make proper meals. It must suck having to use the microwave all the time, only thing I ever use mine for is making hot milk :\ Oh and those Tilda rice things because they are 100000x easier and quicker than normal rice and just as good.

As for the meat fetishism above, I'm keeping well clear. You lot can be er... what's the word I'm looking for.

Yeah I don't eat meat from the supermarket other than very rarely, it's garbage (although I do eat shitty fast food). It's not all really expensive stuff though, I often go for the cheaper cuts (whether it be the cheaper steaks like bavette, flat iron, onglet etc or things like beef shin, lamb neck or scrag end, pork belly etc). I'd always rather have a cheaper cut from a better quality animal than a more expensive cut from a shit animal.

That was a just over 1kg 85 day aged Dexter t-bone piece that me and a mate bought and just split in half for steaks for the bbq. Not cheap but at £22.50/kg superb value for money given the meat is about as high grade as you can buy on a retail level in this country. It's not like I'm eating that on a daily basis though.=D

Ooh, you do that often? I used to do that professionally years ago and made decent money doing it.. I quite enjoyed the sneakiness and subterfuge.
