Post a picture of your medication

Hey MDB if you say you're feeling "grotty" from the bupe WD, what do you mean exactly, shaking/puking, cold sweat, the shits and unable to look at bright lights? Or more of a lighter flu/depression kind of thing? I'm asking because you may be able to taper down even quicker than you are doing now, which may be a good thing if you want off ASAP instead of dragging it out.

This.

What you're feeling isn't bupe withdrawal, MDB. It's psychological. You're just prolonging the discomfort.

Taper aggressively and then see how you go on.

yeah mild flu type symptoms, and slight grumpyness. I am getting off lightly tbh.

I would cut to 0.5 now cos im feeling about 75% - 90 % of tip top health, which is good enough, if i wait another week, im sure i'll be feeling 100 % well on 1mg, but the job centre have put me on some shitty course next week, plus i have enough bupe for another week on 1 mg, then im definately cutting to 0.5. On the other hand it might be better to do the 0.5 thing having an outside distraction to take my mind off things. I think you're right Sam in that its partly psychological, but i think its partly physical aswell.

You're doing really well and you're evidently in the right frame of mind. You'll get there!!

Yeah for real, it's good to see you sounding and doing good, MDB, even if you feel shitty :)

I am, shockingly, on no medication except a borrowed inhaler. Relying on CBT for anxiety/OCD because I think the SSRIs had come to the end of their usefulness for me, and the withdrawals from being a mong and not renewing my prescription every month were worse than the symptoms they were meant to treat.

Been doing well with it, have had a bit of a shit week but I think that's from the stress of various things suddenly happening all at once plus the woman being stressed and us being remarkably similar in most ways except how we react to stress. I get clingy and cry and want affection (yes I'm aware how awful that is at my age) and she gets irritable and flighty and hates being touched or bothered. Even the dog is avoiding her in favour of me.

your dog sounds a master of his own destiny, that is to be respected IMO, but it lovely when a dog bounces up to you to give you a warm affectionate greeting. Its amazing how quickly they pick up on your moods though. I was on a major downer one week staying at my dads, the Dalmation used to wait at the bottom of the stairs to greet me in the mornings, he gave up on me that week as i snubbed him and walked past him without acknowledgement. I c onclude from this that dogs have feelings too.

Anyway, thanks for the encouragement. SSRI withdrawals can be shockingly bad, im sure that contributed to the massively fucked up period i had a few months ago, along with massive and sustained over consumption of phenazepam and then a bit too much bupe a bit later on. So if youve got off them without totally cracking up thats a major achievment in my book. Hope you feel ok.

Lyrica is fantastic recreationally, although tolerance builds very quickly so it's a once-in-a-while thing, although I think that self-limiting aspect is just another plus. Very relaxing and chilled, I get great feelings in my body as well, movement is interesting, like swimming through honey. AS has been said, it resembles alcohol in some ways, but a lot cleaner, and I find it positively euphoric. It also gives me wonderful closed eye visuals as well, intricate 3D webs of purple and gold and green. Combination with MXE is one of my absolute favourites, and in fact Lyrica is my favourite downer, one of my favourite drugs in its own right. Yay pregabalin.

Thanks, man :) Yeah feel good now, and when I do feel down at least I have a faint grasp of why and know that it's probably just my brain being a bit...unique. It helps! Was hard for the first few weeks like you said withdrawals from them suck, but plain sailing after that

And yeah dogs are brilliant for picking up on your moods, snollydog will sit and cuddle you when you're upset. Won't leave my side if I'm all woe, and like I said he picks up on her being stressed and it's obvious. I love the little guy so much <3

Deidra is that what your pet gets, or what you get lol ? Either way, i like it.

They're for my cat, he had a terrible heroin addiction and also a pretty harsh case of ADD. lol just kidding, I couldn't waste any on him! Although I'm sure he'd love the adderall haha. He doesn't need any more drugs anyways, he's already addicted to catnip 8(

Ive just been watching Joe Brand on QI telling a tale about someone she knew giving LSD to their dog. I dont think thats very funny. It could have driven him insane (dogs can go mad) or at least freaked him out. It might noit have affected him atall, or he may have enjoyed his trip and wanted more. who knows.

You'd have to ask the dog I guess.

There was an interesting thread on here about someone who gave LSD to their cat and their dog, because 'they looked like they wanted some'. I'll try and dig it up, it's cool.

Edit: Here it is: http://www.bluelight.ru/vb/threads/537683-Really-Tripping-with-pets

its interesting allright, not sure if its cool though. I think i agree with the consensus on that thread that it was not a very sensible thing to do. The dog could have savaged its owner or fuck knows what else could have happened.

May be too quick to say yet, as Bupe has hugegantuan half-life! It could take days before the WD really settles in. That's why I'd still recommend you try doing a drastic jump down or even skipping a day or two of bupe to see how much or how little trouble you can expect.

After my first long stint with buprenorphine (bunch of these cheap 8mg's that I'd order from a german fellow, five or six yrs ago, would crush them all up and have a tidy snortable stash), six months of use and a quick taper; I mostly got mental WD, depression, emptiness and lethargy and the beginning of a love, er, lust for opioids. Not so much the bad physical stuff yet.

the emptyness feeling was the worst thing of all last time i came off opis. Im not saying the advice you and sam are giving me is bad advice, but i prefer the advice i was given by Mr.Scagnattie in the Other Drugs sub forum.

"The more gradual your taper, the easier it is on your body and the more manageable your withdrawals will be. It's normally best to stabilize on a given dose before dropping down again but plenty of tapers, like the ones done in an inpatient detox where you're only there a week, don't have time to do that so you're being dropped every day.

The point of self tapering with something like suboxone though is that you're not rushed to do those drastic dosage drops. You can draw it out a little to make yourself more comfortable and have a greater chance of success.

If you drag it out too much though, you will end up just prolonging it, however it's your detox and you need to do what you feel comfortable with. Plenty of people taper very slowly over the course of months and months or a year. There's no right or wrong way. "

Ive decided to do 2 weeks on 1mg before cutting to 0.5. For several reasons; Id have too much bupe left over to tempt me if i cut too soon, also i wanna fully recharge my physical and psychological batteries sos that im stronger and hopefully with then find it easier to deal with next step down. I also have a quite challenging college assignment to do, and have to attend college and a fuckin job centre course next week.

After 7-8 days i feel almost completely adjusted to 1 mg. I would cut to 0.5 after ive done my assignment and college evening early next week, but that and the job centre thing give me convenient reasons for taking a bit of a break from the 'endurance challenge' of it all. I'll be taking up the challenge again on Friday next week I'll cut to 0.5.
