Campus is fucking great. I was so pissed off when it finished. Borrows a bit from The Office, and Green Wing; or there seem to be similarities, anyway. But it brings enough new stuff that it holds its own admirably and will easily withstand another viewing or three!

Same writers as green wing I do believe.

Such a shame there weren't more episodes made.
It offended many people, perhaps that's why.

Offended? Not sure how. It's like The Office in that it has offensive characters but the joke is on them. I don't think there is anything offensive in it at all.

It got massively slated for being racist etc. The press didn't really like it as I recall. Didn't they only do one series?

Just finished watching The Man Who Shot Beautiful Women. Is about the photographer Erwin Blumenfeld... whom I must confess I'd never heard of. But definitely knew his work - and so will more or less everybody else cos is some of the most striking, most influential and most frequently copied there is. Started off in Berlin in the WWI era as a Dadaist but is best known for the stuff he did for Vogue in the 40s/50s. Lotsa very well-known pix of oldskool Hollywood glamourpussesseseses and the like and more or less singlehandedly inventing the entire "look" of high-end fashion photography ever since. Actually good fashion photography, that is. But his more personal portraits are far more interesting. Sooooooooooo far ahead of his time in every conceivable way. Nice find.

Also been enjoying Ice Age Giants. Was kinda expecting just another one of those Walking With Dinosaurs CGI jobbies but is much better than that. Is Alice Roberts' new series (and I fukkin <3 Alice Roberts - possibly even more than Mz Marmz <3s Brian Cox :D). Titles are a tad misleading cos is not just about a particular animal each week but focusses on the animals on different continents to paint a picture of the Ice Age in general. The massive cave rammed to the gills with - literally - shitloads of fossilised giant sloth shit in the first episode is particularly mindblowing. Can more or less guarantee you have never seen such a massive pile of shit in yer life :D

Proggy is not a massive pile of shit though. Is good. And not just cos it's by the rather divine Prof Roberts. Although I must admit that is a particularly big selling point to me =D

I put this on earlier and I'm very intrigued:

The Fall
Crime drama series set in Northern Ireland. When a murder in Belfast remains unsolved after 28 days, DSI Stella Gibson is called in to review the case.
It's even got Gillian Anderson in it doing her English accent.

Tis fuckin creepy too - A very good portrayal of the life of a psychopathic serial killer. Seemingly normal family man when home, lady-slayer when not.

On Film4 now...

Favourite flick as a kid, watched it every single time my Grandparents looked after me :)
R.I.P to them <3 They were only supposed to blow the bloody doors off <3

^^ ditto and then some.

Al Swidgen' was a sublimely great character.

One of my fave series ever I think.

He really is. As is Calamity Jane. And the Doc. In fact Deadwood is heaving with brilliant and memorable characters. Am really glad I decided to give it a go cos is definitely one of me faves. Was actually gutted when I got to the end and saw the proposed final part(s) are unlikely to ever happen :(

on the 3rd episode so far, love it, amazing. loved it right from the start. didnt realize they never they never made the planned final series. brilliant dialogue

I ve watched the 1st 3 episodes of Dexter... its not bad, but I am finding it a little slow. Im hoping things get more exciting soon.

Just finished downloading "The Wire". im banking on this filling the void that breaking bad has left.

Just away to watch "Drugs made me do it!"

http://tvlistings.zap2it.com/tv/drugs-made-me-do-it/EP01692883 Might be funny, if only it was based on the MDPV thread
