Good music for acid?

Making a playlist for my first-ever acid trip as we speak! Here's what I've got so far:

Rebel Way - Snoop Lion
The Runner - Black Moth Super Rainbow
Shove It - Santigold
Hollywood Forever Cemetery Sings - Father John Misty
Back To Life - Soul II Soul
Blackbird - Dido
Fever Sleep - The Seven Fields of Aphelion
Look...the Sun Rising - The Flaming Lips
Buried Alive - Yeah Yeah Yeahs
I Can't Wait - Nu Shooz
Could You Be Loved - Bob Marley
Simple Song - Malachai
Peace and Love - Cat Power
Street Trash - Tobacco
Summer's Thirst - Pretty Lights
Four Reels Collide - Prefuse 73

Creating trippy playlists hasn't worked for me in the past, so I just stick to music I already like when I'm sober. A little of everything :)

I feel like that's the way to do it. i feel as if your mind will be most certain what it wants to hear when it is in that state, based on your vibes and mindset during various portions of the trip. for example, my first trip i listened to many things i never really listened to much if at all before. played some muse, some pink floyd, bassnectar, pretty lights, some atmospheric shit, and even some bach (i loved classical music when tripping - so beautiful).

Sitting around watching old live Fishbone, and putting that in the bank for the next time I have acid. Strong, fast, but fairly positive music rules in that state.

Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Frank Zappa, Joy Division are all classics.
And I haven't listened to that much thievery corporation but everything I heard I've liked and fits very well with psyches, I recommend the song 33 degree
If you're in to any kind of EDM some psy trance sets can be very graceful and uplifting. The seamless fashion in which psy trance sets are usually built cater very well to psyches.
Shpongle is a must, downtempo ambient and trippy as balls
As well dubstep can be awesome, more liquid stuff for a chilled out high, I recommend kromestar for liquid stuff or ganja white night for more wobble oriented but still fairly trippy sounding tracks.
A fav of mine for psyches is reggae drum and bass, probably ever since this one festival where I did alot of LSD and vibed so hard to an all regga dnb set in the beautiful sun.

The obvious choices others mentioned.....Beatles, Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane.

But if you want hand picked music from a 20year+ veteran psychedelic explorer (that's me).....then you need to get "Rushes" by The Fireman (which is a pseudonym used by Paul McCartney when he does his ambient releases.)

This song in particular is one I play when I give 5-MEO-DMT...and pretty much without failure it helps the +4 mystical experience (you know, the type where you come out thanking God and kissing the Earth) become reality for...well all but two of the dozens of people I have provided 5-MeO-DMT/safe tripping space for. And it does work the same for LSD.

Or take a listen to some of my tracks (shameless self promotion)...

Listen to something you like. If you listen to extremely fast-paced, abrasive music, you might want to veer a bit softer while tripping.

Entheogenic..... Hands Down! This music is great for the first time tripper, and the experienced Psychonaught too. IMHO it is Anxiety free music, and paints many wonderful landscapes in my mind...

This musical Dual

Entheogenic is a musical project consisting of Piers Oak-Rhind and Helmut Glavar that crosses musical style boundaries. According to the two members, the music mixes "coloristic electrophonics" with "impressionistic orchestra-like sound". Wikipedia

I came across Gov't Mule Gov't Mule 10-31-2012 "Halloween Experience" set 2 complete > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fXHozW1nKEg
If you love Jimi Hendrix this has got to be the best Mule show iv ever heard....
A Very psychedelic show...

Not to totally throw the curve here, but I tend to like music I wouldn't normally listen to. For some reason I have this sneaky feeling that Justin Timberlake's new album would probably be sweet on acid, but yeah nothing will EVER top Pink Floyd.

Once you've had an entire house slow dance with your soul to Echoes, well, that's all you really need in life.

Please try to link to a youtube video or other sample of the artist(s) you are listing - it makes the thread much more navigable for those who might already be tripping and also for those who are just lazy
(Not me obviously 8))

I absolutely love electronic music. Normally my favourite is Drum & Bass but when tripping I tend more towards intricate dubstep, the kind where the artist toys with you using the bass and the soundwaves massage your soul and your body. Gotta have a good subwoofer though.

listen to watever you like sober, and youll like it even more on acid
This! Quite often you'll notice intricacies in your favourite stuff that you won't have noticed before.. plus there's no point ramming psytrance down your throat if you're not that fond of the stuff. Personally, I'd go for anything with rather widdly guitars and theramin - Ozric Tentacles, the more proggy Grateful Dead stuff, but also other stuff that I love such as Alice in Chains unplugged, the Dandy Warhols, Super Furry Animals..

Also, how has no one mentioned Hawkwind yet? 8(
Hawkwind - Space Ritual

Score, both of these will go into my pile of music for reading late and/or tripping, didn't know about the Fireman stuff.

Though while I don't like angry abrasive music while tripping. I adore abrasive ambient, not noise, but skirting that edge, esp while holing. Like so.

However, it's fun to play abrasive, overly energetic guitar that devolves into Link Wray on MDMA with a pedal board while tripping balls, even if I couldn't stand to listen to someone else make that sort of busy racket in my state...

The most chill Trance songs be it vocal, uplifting, or anything of the like. Anything by Above & Beyond and on their radio show Group Therapy, or Trance Around the World (their old radio show name). Progressive house is pretty good too.

Someone mentioned Above & Beyond earlier and I'll say that I was once on a very high dose and was feeling pretty anxious, almost in "bad trip" territory but I put on the A&B album "Group Therapy" and ended up having one of the most amazing and personally intimate trips I've ever had in my life. Good music.

I think others have said Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon"...sometimes I think LSD was made for Dark Side of the Moon :P

Psy Trance Parties!!! Music that compels you to get up and dance.

Tribal drumming is cool also.

Also sometimes I enjoy listening to pop hits from different time periods. I get in one of those zones where I want to venture into radio songs of my childhood. HA!
