Good music for acid?

Barett's solo stuff's always on my playlist, what a fucking incredible man. All my PF's the first two albums, even if he'd left by then Saucerful still has his vibes.
 
I hope someone has mentioned Can, Tago Mago, and Future Days are goat
But I especially dig there live stuff, it breaks me apart on lsd

Psytrance/progressive trance. Search Dacru records for some good examples. Older stuff too like Shpongle and 1200 mics. That shit takes you on a journey!

Listened to Flying Lotus' latest album 'You're Dead!' recently while tripping and it was incredible. Cosmogramma is also a solid album. Pink Floyd Animals is a definite shout, though that may have been mentioned already. Also Flaming Lips obviously.

I reviewed all three tracks before I managed to delete my post. So angry...grrrr. N E Way

Really enjoyed the three, especially the 1st song. Would be curious to hear a mix with a clean vocal....to contrast the dreamy nature of the rest of the song.

Thank you MGS! Your opinion is of a great value to me. Music and acid always go hand in hand for me and sometimes I get into some kind of shamanic trance, can't stop for hours and feel so euphoric and pleasantly exhausted at the end of my set! =D

One more and then I will avoid hijacking the thread....This is a neat track because much of it was composed around psychedelics...specifically 2C-E, and all of it conceived on the fly, when I needed the sound of rain and thunder I held the mic outside the window of my Colorado home and captured the soundscape. And my sweet bird Sativa can be heard tweeting throughout the track. How Is The Weather? (Getting Better!)

I've browsed through your recordings and they are great, really professional quality too! You should post them on Pandora, there will be lots of people who would dig this kind of music! Any way I can download your tracks somewhere in HQ btw? 8)

Bless ya man...that is very kind of you to take an interest. I thought soundcloud lets ya download the tracks? I *think* I was uploading flacs...but perhaps soundcloud only lets you take an mp3 as they seem to process the uploads?

The best music to listen to while tripping is always going to be the music that you already like, IMO. Sometimes, being in an altered state can facilitate enjoyment of things that one might not have the patience for while sober, like drone. But in my experience, the music that I like while on acid, is the music I like sober.


But speaking of drone, let me recommend this album: Shadow Kingdom by Natural Snow Buildings
 
Just listen to the music that you love, whatever it is, and it will the probably be the most likely to affect you in a profound way. Yes, suggestions for "other" can be good, but honestly, the music that moves you IRL, without psychedelics, will likely be that much better with them. You may have the experience of your life if you re-listen to what you consider to be your desert-island material.
 
There is this huge misconception about certain music with LSD, as you will hear a lot of hippies say listen to Bob Marley Pink Floyd or whatever music they say.

The only Truth for this is, the best music to listen to while your high is the music you already listen to!! To get specific I am a Nicki Minaj fan and I love the song"pound the alarm,,", because it has a fast beat to it and some of the sounds make me very emotional as some songs I'll do that. Anyway that's my opinion
