Hey all. First time posting on this site. Like y'all I have mushroom fever and am going to have a rummage through the undergrowth, at a few spots around Melbourne, to see how things are shaping up this arvo. I'll keep y'all posted on the outcomes.

Made my first find today - slim picking but pickings nonetheless. Found a new spot too that is covered in pinheads, hopefully they'll be ready to pick in a few days. Eastern suburbs, melbourne

Goddamn weather forecast says no rain until Sunday - might fill some bottles up and go and water the spot...

Here's what I picked today, like I said, thin pickings but at least it's a sign

Spotted the first subs in the garden beds today Just pins will try watering them given the current warm dry weather

Found these dudes in Melbourne yesterday. The sun today probably killed them but I'm gonna have a geez tomorrow anyway and see how they're doing.

No rain til Sunday :( i went and watered the tan-bark patch I found yesterday, going to take a few more bottles down this evening to keep them wet. The long term forecast isn't promising either, could shape up to be quite a dry winter :(

Bit_pattern, it looks like you just ripped a few of those shrooms right out the ground? Assuming I am correct, you shouldn't do that man, when you do that you are disturbing the mycelium and are likely to inhibit mushroom growth in that spot to a certain degree. It is much better to use scissors to chop them off at the base of the stem and leave the mycelium undisturbed.

Yeah so I hear. Today was bloody beach weather. Killed all my little babies. Bring on sunday!

BOM says it should be raining from sunday to thursday with max temps of 15, hopefully cloudy too to hold in the moisture

They're looking pretty healthy today after watering them, the ones that didn't get watered look worse for wear. I'll post pics later.

Yeah, I know. They were a chance find in some civic buildings in my local area. People around, not really a patch, juts a couple there. Had to be quick and discrete.

I'd say today would mark the official start to the Melbourne/VIC season :)
All week rain and cold temps should really get things moving quickly. Ill be heading out later this week good luck everyone!
