I read here that somebody thinks that pregabalin attaches to the GABA receptors and that that explains it's action, but this is not true the only thing i can say about GABA receptors and pregabalin is that i believe in vivo experiments showed a higher density of GABA receptors with prolonged use of pregabalin.
Well a more dense GABA receptor complex might explain why pregabalin combined with a benzo makes the benzo five times or so stronger whereas pregabalin itself certainly does not attach to GABA receptors also not to benzo receptors on the GABA complex also not on GHB receptors nothing like that, but what it does do the pregabalin is hitting voltage related sodium chanells i thought, correct me if i am wrong please, this then again lowers the amount of excitatory neurotransmitters like glutamate, not adrenaline, substance P and i bet a few more neurotransmitters.
The buzz from lyrica disappears in two days taking a high dose like say 900 mg day one and 1200 mg day two makes day 3 a near impossibility to feel like you did at day one, but what pregabalin keeps doing every single day again in the same strength is potentating everything else i take so especially my benzo, but also my methadone get potentiated so when above somewhere i complained about lyrica withdrawals this was not compeltely true, because what i withdrew from was the non existent potentating when i completely forgot to take my 600 mg as usual every day at 9.30 together with 75 mg oxazepam.
Behind more then a year and a half now i am still not lyrica dependent, but used to the potentating i surely am. I have a high benzo tolerance, but feeling nothing at all from 5 mg xanax that i didn't understand until forgetting the lyrica occurred to me so i take it and when i did about an hour and a half before the rest then 3.5 mg xanax are more then enough.
I know a lot of stuff about my own meds, but i need some advice anyway so is there anybody who can give me an idea howlong it takes before i become xanax dependent taking on average 3 mg a day?
I do know when i started benzo's in 1987 that it would take months before a little dependency occurred, but i am benzo tolerant already so just like with every being opiate dependent and you manage to get rid of it then using an opiate for 3-4 days will make you feel unpleasant by day five without the opiate so i think benzo tolerance might work roughly on the same way maybe a bit slower then opiates, but i am sure anybody here can give me an idea about xanax dependency preferably coming from somebody who does not take other substances, except for benzo's whereas every experience is very welcome and i already thank you upfront for an answer.
Before i bounced into a shitload of xanax i only took 75 mg oxazepam and 30-50 mg tranxene two two combined roughly equal 50 mg diazepam, but i was thinking to go see my doctor who refused me to continue my previous diazepam script stating that i fucked myself over and have a 6 mg xanax dependency so that amount equals 120 mg diazepam an amount not many doctors would write for, but if she gives me a chance to get rid of the xanax trough a say 6 week diazepam taper then i will do exactly that, except if i find out not to be xanax dependent yet so therefore an idea please.
A problem with a benzo like xanax is, its called alprazolam so its not a 'pam', that its a type of benzo called a triazolo benzo whereas clonazepam is an 1.4 benzo just like diazepam so if needed clonazepam can in one go fully be replaced by diazepam, but not xanax this benzo slowly has to go out whwile the diazepam slowly comes in until you have only diazepam to taper with left from there it cold take a while, but when you want to become benzo free then it can be done even in spite of my old shrink who calls getting rid of a benzo as one of the hardest things somebody can do.
I dont know about that, i mean i am a wuss when it comes to opiate withdrawal so since i am not plagued by anxiety to start with will make a diazepam taper not too hard until i reached lets say 10 mg diazepam a day and to leave it there, but a benzo taper for people who do get plagued by anxiety or even panic attacks who are a heavier form of anxiety xanax works very well for those matters and seems to keep acting a little while longer then other benzo's so what i find weird is that in the US a xanax dose of 10 mg a day in total is not uncommon, but getting the equivalent 200 mg diazepam this benzo puts into the scale then nobody will write for that much.
Clonazepam is about equally as strong as alprazolam, but where alprazolam only has an about 12 hour halflifetime clonazepam has a 50 hour halflifetime so thanks to that decent halflifetime its possible to taper using clonazepam whereas tapering using alprazolam i think its possible to get from a very high dose, say 6 mg, so a more normal dose like 1.5 to 2 mg, but if you reached 1.5 mg and you remove 0.25 mg then you will feel this also the alprazolam with the short halflifetime it often happens that people feel bad in between dosing intervals only almost nobody knows this can happen and take their feeling bad for what it is, but mainly without thinking if the benzo became a problem.
Regarding pregabalin for anxiety at first this can work like a charm, but many people complain that pregabalin seems to 'poop out' behind some months and yes probably so when the anxiety suppression lessens that far. What could be tried in such a case is a higher dose, but if you are getting 600 mg of pregabalin already being the max according to 'them' then getting 900 mg wont be easy to say the least and then to think its not even certain that a higher lyrica dose will work whereas getting a higher benzo dose does work.
When i just received pregabalin i went up in two appointments to 900 mg and when i remember the buzz lyrica gave me well since nothing much can get me buzzed anymore i found the lyrica feeling at 900 mg great so ofcourse i wanted to feel that again and i kept upping the dose until i would take 3,000 mg's of pregabalin a day and still barely feel it so i stopped that madness and decided that from then on i would respect pregabalin like i do and it works well for my purposes.
Not taking lyrica for two days can already make the good feeling show itself again and not using it for a week or even a month like somebody already said you start from scratch again tolerance wise to a buzz dose should work again, but after not taking it for a bigger or lesser while taking more then 900 mg is unneeded maybe 1200 mg is a bit better only doses like that are certainly NOT for anybody who just started this med, however its very hard to overdose on pregabalin alone combining it with other things could be very dangerous in fact so dont do that.
The reason why for me its takes 2.5 hours atleast before i feel the pregabalin starting to work is that everyday again the med has to lower the amount of excitatory neurotransmitters and before you feel something nice from that time has to pass so what i do is always taking lyrica an hour before my other meds being 160 mg methadone, 300 mg seroquel i dont really need and the 600 mg pregabalin plus the benzo's. Lyrica also potentiates alcohol, ofcourse, so in any case if you had lyrica dont drive, because you may think you are superman until that tree you didn't see well i dont have to continue right.
Create stashes of your needed meds people so that you dont become dependent from seeing 'the man' only to feel better pill wise, because i am not simple and trying to save up something more powdery that is impossible, but i remember very well when i was dependent from 'the man' in the nineties and when for some reason he didn't open his door i felt even sicker, because i could smell the smell from heroin at his door so i was very near to relief and at the same time i could had bin on Antarctica.
Anyway enough said sorry for that i am so long winded often, but i like to be clear and if i have to type an hour almost to become clear, hopefully, then that is what ai do.
