Is lyrica a good option instead of a benzo? Just got prescribed it 75mg twice a day. I have read it is good for anxiety but surely it can't beat the effects of beautiful benzodiazapines

i must say its up there with valium and that with help for anxiety.i wouldnt say as good (maybe cus im a benzo addict) but still does the job.when combined with a benzo it becomes VERY recreational

Anyone here tried Bromazepam ? Apparently its rare in Australia :p I've only tried Alprazolam and Tetrazepam, its pretty similar to Alprazolam I would say except it lasts a bit longer and its less sedating

Oh I was just wondering if people had tried it, now reading back I don't think I was clear, besides Alprazolam and Tetrazepam I've only tried Bromazepam. But yeah its my favorite the stuff will knock you on your ass effortlessly hahaha :)

approximately how many mg of Lyrica would you say is approximately the same amount of valium? i know there different drugs but just a guess? and how long does lyrica last for? only took it 2 hours before bed so i dont know but i got a goooooood nights sleep first time in ages!!

i would compare 1-2 75mg caps equal to 5mg's of valium in terms of anxiety.tolly raises very fast too and stays there permanently.when i started using it (a mate was prescribed it for pain) we would eat 4-7 75mg caps along with 5-10mg of valium and be very very out of it for a good 6-8 hours, now our usual dose is 900mg-1.2grams with the same dose of benzos.when using it for anxiety i would say the calming effects would last aroun 8-12 hours or so but don't hold that to me.its been quite a while since I've taken it due to the stupidly high price.i would probz use that to help my anxiety if it wasn't so expensive....... :\

it really comes down to how each individual reacts to each drug on it's own. lyrica, for some people, has some really pronounced effects whereas other people mightn't feel much at all.

i'd lower your benzo dose in this instance as you're combining to depressants and are more suspect to passing out. starting with a single pill of lyrica would be ideal to get a feel for it.

Yeah my doc gave me a sample pack said it was expensive i know cant say prices here but shit its expensive from what he said the amount was! I wonder if going around to different doctors is considerwed doctor shopping? lolthen i can just keep getting free sample packs

yeah i will lower benzo dose cos of two depressants you have to love bluelight

So, I woke up this morning, after picking up 50x 2mg alprazolam on Friday, with a black eye, sore jaw and an empty bottle of Xanax sitting next to me. Along with a whole bunch of stuff sitting on the couch that I didn't use to own, but do now. :\

Pregabalin has been approved for listing on the PBS as at 19th November 2012. See below (quoted from Pharmacy Daily)

LYRICA (pregabalin) has been approved for listing on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) at a cost of $447 million over five years. The drug is designed to treat chronic nerve pain, and is the first PBS listing specifically for this condition.

gabapentin should have been made PBS alongside pregabalin. it's rather over-priced and under-prescribed in my view and could potentially help a lot more pain patients out.

I have used quite a bit of bromazepam, it is a decent benzo, I don't find it too sedating so it is good for anxiety relief when you are out and about. I find I get slightly stronger effects off of bromaz than an equipotent dose of diazepam, probably because I use quite a bit more diazepam. I still prefer diazepam overall but bromaz is up there on my list of preferred benzo's.

A good friend of mine gave me some IV midazolam solution over the Christmas break, it's definitely taken the top spot over Valium for my benzo of choice. It actually has a nice rush, similar in some ways to heroin but with less tactile euphoria and a heavier body stoning effect but still very nice. Two thumbs up from this guy.

I don't drink anymore (new years eve was my 1 year anniversary of being drunk) so I keep a stash of Valium for parties and social occasions, it works a treat as a social lubricant. I kicked my habit 6 or so months ago so I get the full effect of relatively small doses and don't have to worry about blowing my tolerance to hell after using them over the course of a couple of days. The right dose of amps and the right dose of benzo's go together so well, for me anyway.

Damn just realized I've been using etizolam daily for a little while now. Thank god less than 2mg a day (equiv to 20mg diazepam) . Duration I'm not 100% sure of but I'd say 2-3 months.

What can I expect in the way of WD's from such a low dose? Only other time I was habituated was @ 60-80mg diazpam daily several years ago. Going to try and taper a bit...I wonder if the short half-life of etizolam will make things a bit different...At least I've got enough for x-mas.

Been a week since having any etiz and no signs of WD :) just a touch of extra anxiety but I expected that at least. Should be home free +7 days after last use of a short acting benzo right dudes?

It's actually a benzo analog (a thienodiazepine) Wonder if this class might be easier to manage habit wise than the classic benzos (probably not)
