The Cigarette Thread

I can tell the difference between my preferred smoke and the 'others'. Couldn't tell you what the others were though. You know when you're smoking a cheap Just Smokes or JP smoke - note - do NOT buy the rollies of the two mentioned, the tobacco is dry as shit, burns in about 1 minute compared to 5 or so and you waste half of it trying to roll because it's not rolly tobacco, it's just the regular tailor made tobacco stuffed in a rolly packet. Cheap as crap, but disgusting.
 
This all sounds so rediculous but oh well :)

I'm amazed at the difference in the cultural acceptance of smoking between different countries, here in Czech Republic you can smoke inside clubs, bars, wherever and your only paying $4.00 a pack. I think I'll try quit when I return though.. I won't be able to afford it..
 
hmm. Yeah this packaging thing is obviously for the kidz. I mean we havnt seen the packs dispayd for a while now so whats the diff.

Champion had these rollie tins going just before the transition which was a good marketing ploy I thought. Good tins too :P

many an explosive episode has unravelled after waking up to nill nicotine. I mean I change. I can feel it coming. Wanting to kill cunts.

now I know this I always hav cigs handy. butts whatever.

Its a disgusting habit. Up there with gear if you ask me. Its wild that these things are actually LEAGAL?!?

time for a smoke and a drinkie :)

How good is it LOL, I remember being at this fancy fucking restaraunt in Prague and the whole restaraunt was the smokers area and this pissy little out of the way 4 table section on the way to the toilet was the non smokers area. It really is a smokers paradise over there, would be pretty shitty for the non smokers though thats for sure.

I think there is quite a noticeable difference between a lot of brands btw, it might not be as big as people make out but when you are paying these high prices for cigarettes I think you have a right to be particular about getting the right fucking smokes. It also is annoying how fucking long it takes for them to find the right packet now, I have seriously waited like 5 minutes for nothing but a pack of cigarettes! That could always happen occasionally beforehand when you got someone who didn't know where shit was but this plain packaging seems to have increased the frequency of it by a bit.

When did these laws actually come into effect? A week ago I was at one Coles that refused to sell me my brand because they only had the non plain packaging packs in stock, so I had to buy a different brand and they couldn't even tell me which of that type of ciggie was the same strength as my usual smokes, then yetserday I go to get my mum ciggies from another Coles 5 minutes from the previously mentioned one and they sold me two non plain packets without batting an eye lid...
 
It'd be stocks n shit. Cant expect these massive corps to just chuck out pallets cause they arnt the right colours..
I bought TWO packs of 20 coideinz cause they were outa 40 packs and isnt that illegl? (I mean the chick did ask her 'superviser' and did the whole "you arnt taking too much are you?" thing...) The werldz bent. Australia is no exeption.

I plan to give up soon, When im good and ready (which you need to be forsure) , when I do take this massive task on..I reckon Id go patches and that nicotine whistle.
Weed plays a big factor in me not giving up. Its like one or the other. Usually both.
fucking sucks. I hate it.
Its like the only factor at times for keeping me from that "healthy" lifestyle I so really want.

Why does it matter what colour the packages are?
 
Working at Coles, I have had numerous people, like 7 in two days, comment on how the cigs taste different since they have become plain packaged. I think it is a mind over matter thing, has anyone noticed a difference in taste, quality? I don't smoke so I can't really say. And yeah finding what people are after is a bitch! Yeah it's a-z now, though not all packets are in the layout, and finding rolling tobacco is such a headache. The name is on the side and hard to see from above which is plain. :/

Placebo. At least that's my bet.

I probably suck at this, I can barely tell the difference between coca cola and pepsi let alone different brands of cigarettes, I mean I can tell there 'is' a difference, but it's so subtle I find them effectively interchangeable.

Personally, I haven't noticed any difference since the plain packaging came in.

It's been scientifically proven that packaging of food, effects the taste of food. It is a placebo effect.

Cigarettes always taste like shit. I just need that nicotine crack.

Indeed. I actually like the taste/smell of cigarettes, I grew up with a smoker and her smoker friends and got very used too the smell.

Obviously when you actually are a smoker you notice the smell even less though.
 
That's what I have been telling people!! It's all in their heads, they then go onto showing the difference between the two . Showing and old longbeach yellow and a longbeach yellow from a plain pack. Really thinking that the tobacco is more 'loose' , and not as well made. I am getting comments everyday about the 'difference'.. Some customers are even saying once everything is plain packaged they are going to quit as the quality Is shit .. It's quite funny to see
 
... Also love how all the cig reps talk about one of the plain packets with the dead guy on it as being their old mate Bryan..

i noticed a change to winfeild thats why i changed to choice.the winfeild grey would somtimes have this odd taste almost like gumtree lol and they would give me headaches if i smoke first thing in the morning before eating brekkie.this was before the plain packages came out tho.and bust the point of the colors is to signify the strength of the smokes (since they decided to remove the nicotine content or whatever) 8(
