Does it annoy you when some ppl refer to marijuana as "dope"?

dope is heroin to me; whenever i hear dope, i think heroin. So if someone is like want to smoke some dope, i think smoke some heroin. If someone refers to getting or smoking dope, i just like to be stupid and say, 'oh you smoke your heroin?' or something. My least favorite slang terms for marijuana are green and grass. "I'm gonna smoke some grass after work", really, you are going to go out to your lawn and roll some grass into a joint and smoke that? "You got any green?" no fuck you i don't have any green.

oh yeah another, smoke a toke. Personally i just call it cannabis since i hate the slang for it, i get weird about what to call it in public as most people wouldn't call it cannabis but it's the only term i'm comfortable with.
 
As far as dope, that's what I would put on top of a char in a straight shooter and vaporize so I could enjoy my 10 minute high , and push it once or twice to get one good last blast.
 
I really don't care what slang people use for drugs, so I definitely don't hate it. Some of my friends call all harddrugs dope. I think that's probably because we're not from US/England so we're not that familiar with the drugs-slang. On BL it can be a little confusing if someone says dope and doesn't mean heroin though, as people here are referring to heroin 99% of the times they're talking about dope.
 
Its all generational, and regional as well.

60s & 70s: Dope = Cannabis
East coast: Dope = Heroin.
West coast: Dope = Meth (typically, depending on exact location)

To me: Dope = Heroin. A bunch of my friends back in Cali were into Meth and when they were thinking about getting a sack, they were all "Lets get some Dope?" to which I simply said "My dope, or your dope?"
 
why would i let something like that annoy me? that's the reason I use drugs/drink, to not be a douchey uptight asshole...

That's nothing like what I hear or say California. LDN has some smooth talking cats out there.
 
LOL this is my dad 100%. My brother smokes weed daily and my parents know, and when my dad gets angry at my brother he always says "STOP SMOKING ALL THAT DOPE ITS CLOUDING YOUR JUDGEMENT...all your friends (his friends also only smoke weed) are on dope too! They call it dope for a reason!" my brother is always like "uhh I don't do heroin I only smoke 'bud'".and my dads response is always "NO YOU SMOKE DOPE". I find it pretty funny rather than annoying when my dad refers to it in that manner.

But when my friends say they need to "go get some dope" I just shake my head and say "you mean WEED, right?" answer is always yes. weed is the only type of drugs my friends do -- that they've told me about at least
 
A lot of things annoy me about most drug users, and their slang is usually the most minor thing. It is irritating though, but the misinformation that a lot of users spew irks me to the point that their stupid terminology becomes nothing more than slightly annoying in comparison.

Basically, it pisses me off, but not to the point where I go out of my way to correct people.
 
Pisses me off when people call any drug dope, even if it's overly obvious what drug they're talking about, but like mel22 said, I wouldn't ever mention it, but I definitely notice that kinda thing.
 
Yeah mainly because my mom used to call it that but either way this one is of my highest pet peeves. The worst thing in the world ever is when someone offers free dope and it turns out to be buddha. Let alone bad buddha.:\ Oh well atleast its free!;);)

The word dope doesn't annoy me although I believe it lumps marijuana in with some of the harder drugs. I've seen the word dope used to refer to heroin in the city and in the more rural areas I've lived people call crystal meth dope.
 
yes, it does. i will tell you why.

when my mother discovered pot in my room when i was 14, she took me out of class in high school and tried to get me committed to a mental hospital. (they refused)

my parents met in the police academy. they always referred to pot as "dope".

the only time i used the word "dope" seriously, was when i was a heroin user and that was a regular word used on the streets.

but even before i had that experience, it just sounded antiquated and ridiculous. it sounds like something cops would say (and they do). got some DOPE on you??? in reference to weed, that just sounds so amazingly retarded.

i can only speak from my experience in my particular culture, though.
