Does it annoy you when some ppl refer to marijuana as "dope"?

In the area i am from we refer to methamphetamine as dope, heroin is junk, crack is work, and weed is dro. It was hella funny when some friends of mine (just stoners at the time) were asked by this old man if they smoked dope, they thinking since he was old meant dro and said yes. The old dude pulls out a bub and starts hitting it right there. Lol my friends practically fell over as i was crackin up laughing.
 
well going back a few years, soapbar was referred to as either dope or solid. this was all everyone would smoke when i was younger because of how cheap it was. they called weed either green or skunk (never mind if it was a skunk strain or not).
 
Omfg I hate when people refer to weed as "dope". To me, dope = heroin, end of story.

But even now, I have people that ask me "Do you have any dope?" And I just look at them thinking "what the fuck do you mean by dope" because I KNOW this person isn't asking me for heroin. Nobody asks me for heroin. lol
 
Apparently I find it funny. I went to town on smoking some bud since I thought my parents were gone for the day, and they pulled up right after I finished smoking. After walking into the house my dad goes "who's been smoking dope?" and I just started cracking up while walking away from him. That pretty much gave it away. It was pretty funny getting caught smoking weed for the first time in like 6 years, but nobody cares and I don't feel bad since I do a lot worse.
 
Only if the person in question thinks theres good/bad drugs. Its not a big deal if they refer to all drugs as dope, since they're just linguistically challenged and not being a hypocrite. They probably don't know any better since they have very little experience with drugs in general.

Now the person who smokes/drinks/takes pills/whatever and calls any other drug dope is something else entirely. That's just cognitive dissonance trying to prevent their head from exploding since its overloaded with bullshit.

But yeah, dope is a terrible slang term for any drug. I tend to think of anyone that uses it as linguistically challenged. Even calling heroin or "hard drugs" dope seems lazy as fuck.
 
Yeah on the west coast the term dope gets blurred often..like oh
Lets get a sac of dope (usually always refers to meth) but when I haven't smoked/shot up and go into w/d..I'm dope sick o.O
 
I talked to an old classmate from high school that had become addicted to H then quit. We discussed this actually (I saw him almost a year ago) and we agreed that dope=H.
 
not as annoying as blokes in their late 30s asking where to get 'meow'. really pisses me off. if you cant pronounce the chemical name just say meph ffs, not hard to remember and its 1 syllable less too.
