Can't believe no-one has mentioned the Ian Curtis biopic Control, fuck me that film felt like a comedown...

Pi for the 20th century breakdown.

Requiem for a dream
NSFW:
Leto's character at the end where the nurse says, "...she'll come..." and you know that no one will.

Million Dollar Baby

Lilja 4-Ever sounds awesomely depressing. I'll try to watch it.
21 grams "the uplift quotient of a baby panda choking to death on a pinecone." awesome.

I've seen it twice now - once cuz I rented it, and twice cuz it was on TV. Definitely not the best movie in the world, but boy is it depressing and disturbing.

^I haven't seen that one yet, but googling it just made me think of another depressingly good Julianne Moore movie (I love her btw).

its about her losing the ability to interact with the world and her family in the way she used to be able to due to 'environmental disease'

reminds me of neurotic people i know etc lol, GREAT FILM

Just finished watching Biutiful. So goddamned depressing, Jesus Christ. I haven't seen some of the movies mentioned in this thread, I 'll have to catch up. Another good one is Synecdoche, New York. Dark humor at its best.

^ I like Jarvier Bardem and have been wanting to see Biutiful, but I just know that I'll feel bummed out for a week or so after watching it.
